I know you meant ranks but there is a flaw in the argument. It isnt about getting the fastest experience, it is about being efficient. That is why it is not worth getting the combat skills to 99 beforehand (except for Prayer). Say you use Armoured Zombies to get, you will get more "combat" experience per hour and hence get them to 99 first, but you sacrifice the Slayer experience. From say about 80-99 you would range from maybe 70k-75k at 80 to 100k at 99 per hour (I got the 75k as an estimate as someone told me they got about 85k per hour with stats at 88). On Slayer you might get at 80 50-55k up to 65k (and higher) at 99 (no idea at 80 stats really, and 65k is the number I have been using, though as stated it is higher for me, also that rate is based on using a cannon, without a cannon the rate is higher for melee). Using 87.5k as an average for Zombies and 57.5k for Slayer Ill show the difference. Also note for now I am excluding the Range experience. Ill also add in the Summoning experience (using 7.5k per hour for Zombies and 15k for Slayer as an average). I changed my mind, but Ill add it here. Instead the number for Summoning on Slayer will be about 13.75k (making the ratio about 0.95:1). This is due to at 15k you would have got more Summoning experience than Slayer, so I lowered the rate. Zombies It would take 126.3 hours to get one melee skill to 99. Therefore taking about 378.8 hours to get all three to 99. You would gain about 2,841,008 Summoning experience. Slayer I would take about 192.1 hours to get one melee skill to 99. Therefore taking about 576.4 hours to get all three to 99. You would also gain in the process, 8,286,272.25 Slayer experience. You would gain about 7,926,000 Summoning experience. Hitpoints experience would be the same for both options. So you are losing out on 16.2mil experience for a gain of 197.6 hours. Using Waterfiends, to get that amount of experience (using 100 crimsons worth of charms per hour at 0 cost, not sure on profit but it doesnt matter) would take about 226.5 hours. Without even bothering to do more calculations Slayer is already better off. Well unless you value Slayer experience as a negative (which makes no sense seeing as it would provide no negative to your account), Slayer is better in that respect. Kind of a long response to such a small section  Where are you losing out on 16.2m experience? I must have missed that bit. :-k Anyway, I was only pointing out that the combat experience after 99 is not necessarily any more worthless than the slayer experience. :?
  2. Familiars are not allowed on Entrana. :( As for this... I'm sure this person meant balloons, which are actually very close in speed to the Abyss.
  3. If you used morphic hammers the whole way, you'd need ~100k oak planks to get 99 construction. That's ~40-45m gp. So you have enough cash, it's just a matter of getting enough hammers. You can only have 10 in your bank at a time. You'll need roughly 180-190 of them, and you can get 3 per hour on average. The actual playing the minigame should be easy to get the hang of. You'll figure it out after a game or two. When you're averaging ~22 reward points a game, you're in a good place.
  4. By using a log with a tinderbox and not getting experience from it? Seriously, we don't need a skill for everything. I can use an empty bowl on a sink and fill it with water--should I be getting experience for it? "Watermaking is an important skill! If we didn't know how to fill things with water, how would we get soft clay, survive in the desert, or make potions?"
  5. Yes, agility potions are dirt cheap. Only about 100 gp for a 4-dose. Summer pies are more expensive, but they're good too.
  6. This is the way to go. Any time you need sacred oil, the official Shades of Mort'ton world is your friend. You can also buy the sacred oil/pyre logs directly from the GE, but that's not in the spirit of the quest.
  7. Iron would be a better idea than gold. The faster experience would be a good investment, because it would let you mine runite eventually, if you kept at it. Runite is the best money in f2p. As for what you can do with cooking, well, anchovy pizza works pretty well.
  8. I consider "noob" to be a term, like "good" or "bad" or "stupid," that is best applied to deeds, rather than those who perform them. Way I see it, if you stand in the Castle Wars lobby for ten minutes shouting "Buying law rune," you are being a noob and I reserve every right to make fun of you. (On the other hand, if I'm in a good mood, I might hand them a dozen or so law runes to get them to shut up for a week.) If you were to ask me why that is nooby, I would also reserve my right to call you a noob. Sometimes people really are nooby, that's all.
  9. Essence mining speed caps out about as soon as you start with a rune pickaxe. So the bonus will still apply, it just probably won't do anything. Try an abyssal lurker instead.
  10. From what I've seen, they're overshadowed by teaks in pretty much everything. Do you know something I don't? :?
  11. Who knows? I thought I was done with my old Zelda: Oracle of Ages game, but then I picked up a new file and couldn't put it down. Even if I quit (and I am pretty invested in the game by now) there's a good chance I'd come back at some point or another to do the new quests and stuff that came out while I was gone.
  12. Good writing. Only one thing I have to point out: That same puzzle was used before Diamond & Pearl, in Gold & Silver, and then again briefly in Ruby & Sapphire. :shame: Although in Myths of the White Lands, you can move diagonally, which is a big functional change.
  13. Teaks and eucalyptus are the best for raising drop potential, because they can be chopped without entering a safe zone. Teaks you'd drop anyway, and the bank at Oo'glog can be accessed from outside the door where it's still dangerous. Also, they're more efficient for training than willows or yews anyway.
  14. If you want an afk'able skill, then your best bet for fishing would probably be monkfish, and your best bet for cooking would be fish. The type of fish will vary on the amount you want to spend, but I recommend sharks once you hit your mid-90s...sharks are pretty cheap to cook these days.
  15. They just don't work for flatpacks.
  16. Why not just use the known quantity of logs burned per hour, add the already-measured exp/hr rates for cutting teaks, and then take the total xp over the two hours and divide it in half?
  17. Teaks are the fastest experience in woodcutting if you powercut. Heavy rod fishing (dropping the fish) is the fastest experience for fishing. I have a woodcutting guide you can look at if you like. (Link in sig.)
  18. For the first question, I don't know the answer for your specific level, but I can tell you that both yews and willows are poor methods for training woodcutting. I would recommend ucalyptus or teak trees instead. You can check out my woodcutting guide (link in sig) if you have further questions. For the next question, yeah, when an NPC has more of an item in the player stock already, the price they buy at will drop. It caps pretty quickly...the buy price hits minimum around like 30 items...I forget exactly.
  19. Morphic is better. The volatile one might not even turn into a needle at all, and you're at the mercy of whatever it picks to turn into. Then three minutes later it'll transform itself again. Useless. Use morphic.
  20. Try 90. That's a good level where you mostly stop burning them.
  21. At 99 in both, I can make up to 150k gp/hr at sharks and 150k gp/hr at magic logs (with a dragon axe). Those numbers will go up with familiars (I use a granite lobster for fishing and a fruit bat) but they'll still be pretty low. Yeah, they're about the same, and both mediocre at best. You could get the same profit mining pure essence. I don't recommend either skill as a moneymaker.

It's not about respect. It's about the journey: having a goal to strive for; having direction. My thought was, I could spend my next two months of gameplay training a variety of skills to medium levels, or I could train my fishing to 99, and have a skillcape. Nothing was holding me back at all, and I liked training fishing as much as I liked training any other skill. Furthermore, the skillcape is second only to the fire cape for combat training. Obsidian capes are ugly; skillcapes are the coolest-looking capes in the game. And while I don't necessarily have respect for skillcapes, I do have some degree of envy. Now I don't, except for summoning, which I plan on getting to 99 sometime in the distant future.
  23. No, the chicken is for generating feathers. It's the magnet that picks up ranged items. Which begs the question: why does the accumulator pick up bone bolts?
  24. Try this link. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Miscellania
  25. Honestly? Sell it. You can train your smithing more effectively by buying bars already smelted. If you want to cut costs, you can use morphic hammers...Stealing Creation is more fun than smelting anyway, imo.
