Do we need more "Ultimate" weapons?
The problem that the developers have to contend with is that, in Runescape, there is always a "best" weapon. The only way to make another weapon players will use with frequency is to make it, in at least some situations, "better." And beyond damage potential, there are very few ways to do that. That said, here's a quote from Mark Rosewater, head designer of Magic: the Gathering R&D, on curbing power creep in trading card games. I think it's relevant here. In Runescape, the problem is that the only way to get a really different experience is, usually, to train a different skill, in which case new items in the other skill are no longer relevant. This makes the job of avoiding power creep significantly more difficult. It's clear, however, that Jagex is aware of this. Look at recently introduced content--say, Stealing Creation. Most of the rewards from Stealing Creation are not better than ordinary gear. You will get slower xp playing Stealing Creation, buying clay helms, and training combat than you will training combat with a regular helm, because of the extra time spent playing. However, the bonus experience is good enough that if you enjoy playing the minigame, you don't need to feel like you've wasted your time in playing it. A similar tendency is found in the Great Orb Project. Runecrafting tabs are obviously much faster for training runecrafting than running back and forth...the catch is that you need to play TGOP to get them. It's not faster than normal runecrafting when you take the extra time into account, but as with Stealing Creation, it's enough that you can feel as if you haven't been wasting your time on the minigame. Essentially, what Jagex is doing is introducing nontraditional training methods that provide experience in the same skills, but give a radically different experience when you play them. A more obvious example is Vinesweeper--it's nothing like traditional farming, but it can still be used to train the skill. I personally consider this to be a fine solution, but Jagex isn't pushing hard enough. Vinesweeper was incredibly weak as it was first released, and even after being pumped up it's still very weak. Jagex should have pushed harder and made it faster to obtain points. Sure, we might have ended up with a skill like thieving, where Pyramid Plunder is the fastest experience...but you never hear players complaining that Pyramid Plunder is boring. I'm not a big fan of another recent attempt at creating new equipment without causing power creep, the ancient warriors' armour--temporary gear has an inherent un-fun-ness in losing your best equipment. Dying and losing millions is one of the most un-fun things that can happen in this game. The only worse thing would be being hacked or banned, neither of which are inherent game mechanics. The temporary armour basically ensures that after an hour of using it, you will, for all intents and purposes, die and lose millions' worth of equipment. And that is not fun.

new melee armour for nonmems
Nonmembers got new melee armour last May when FoG came out, remember? Rune gauntlets and rune berserker shields. They also got corrupt dragon armour with the release of PvP worlds.

Slayer..
Oh, easy answer. The people who say to train melee with slayer are usually wrong when they say to train melee with slayer. In the cases where they are right, they'd be saying, "Your slayer level is pretty low...why not train that, since it's worth getting and it lines up nicely with your goal of training melee?" In other words, they are flipping it around and focus on slayer training, with the combat experience as the side benefit.

Training Controlled... Faster or a 'Croc'?
Well obviously, in f2p. But in p2p the absolute best training weapon is the abyssal whip, and it only trains attack, defence, and controlled. In order to train strength on its own, the player needs to change to an inferior weapon.

Is magic too weak??
I think magic is plenty powerful. It doesn't have the same raw damage potential as melee or range, but I think the freezing and stuff does enough to make up for it. The only real problem is the cost of the runes, which I think is a heavy handicap. It's too prohibitive. That's the real reason magic isn't more popular for combat.

Inferno Adze Methods and Exp
Rather than switching every half hour, it would make more sense to do all your powercutting first, then do all your firemaking. You also wouldn't need to do any special testing...just average the rates from the two methods together.

A new approach to Alchemy
I don't know what the trade limit, but air, earth, water, and fire battlestaves all cost about the same and alch for the same, and there's usually a supply from the people who make them for crafting experience. So even if it turns out you can only buy them 100 at a time ( I woudn't know) you could put in 4 offers at once...

Slayer Sucks
Training slayer after 90 is also wasted experience, isn't it? If you were going to get 99 slayer, you're already planning on getting experience that's meaningless except as a status symbol. If that's the case, what's wrong with getting straight 99s in melee, range, prayer, and/or summoning beforehand to achieve the fastest possible slayer xp, and then using slayer to raise your rank in the hiscores?

A new approach to Alchemy
They can be bought on the GE. Air battlestaves I think are the cheapest ones to alch, last time I checked anyway.

Fastest way to rune defender
I've never tried this, but it sounds extensive. Food can only last so long, so getting a ton of tokens might not be necessary anyways. Unrelated to my opinion, I would try this because its coming for cat666. :-# Anyways, about the wealth, there was this person who had good relations with one of the Jagex staff, it was really old and they would go to the blue moon inn and have interviews. One of the questions was what exactly wealth did, that's how people got the "roulette basis" because it came from an actual programmer. Another question asked was what did it not affect and he classified rune defenders as a non-drop along with clue scrolls and etc. Personally I wouldn't use one, I guess you can experiment though. No...the "roulette" thing came from the God Letters. Anyway, no official Jagex source can be found that says defenders are unaffected by the ring of wealth.

Yew xp per hour?
well what do u suggest? Eucalyptus, as was previously stated. They're faster and more profitable than yews. They are found west of Oo'glog. You can look in my woodcutting guide (link in sig) if you have further questions.

Shark fishing xp per hour?
This. Well actually sharks would be more like 800-900 hours to 99, but the point still stands.
-
Yew xp per hour?
At 99 woodcutting I've averaged 240 yew logs/hr with a dragon axe...not good for money or xp.
-
Excess Ecto-tokens
Hoard them for when Jagex updates 'em. It'll happen, trust me.
-
Rune Javelin.....
You could also low alch with the explorer's ring.

Why do you wear "great" armor or use an "awesome" weapon?
armor doesnt degrade in price too badly over time. I bought my bandos plate between 11 and 12 mil and if I do choose to resell it Im willing to bet it will have only dropped 2 or 3 mil. So I basically paid 3 mil for unlimited use of the plate over the time I had it which is fine by me. I actually bought mine at 12m, resold later at 15m, and bought back again at 12m. \ Anyway, I think the answer is obvious. Why would I use rune armour when I can use barrows, and get better bonuses in everything? There's really no debate. People use better armour because it has better stats. I'm not about to use a mithril scimitar instead of a whip so I can save money. Anyway, what else am I going to spend that money on? Might as well get good equipment.

which one????
Option 1 is definitely going to be the better choice.

Fairytale quest help.
Yes, you need to do Jungle Potion up to the part where he asks you to get Volencia Moss. It's an incredibly short and easy quest, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Eucalyptus logs question!
97.5 xp more than willows, to be exact. A spirit terrorbird works fine at eucs, although I prefer a forager since the loads are slow enough that less banking isn't a big deal. As foragers go, fruit bat > magpie > beaver. You could look at my woodcutting guide (link in sig) if you have further questions.

Eucalyptus logs question!
The trees can be cut without doing the quest, but there's no bank nearby until you start the quest. (Although you could use a Spirit Larupia teleport if you were really determined.) The bank can be accessed without finishing As a First Resort, although I recommend doing the whole thing. If nothing else, it'll let you take the charter ship back to Oo'glog so you can come back there after a farming run. And the sal[bleep]er spring especially is very valuable.

~ Troacctid's Woodcutting Guide ~
Okay...by popular demand, I've added images to the guide. I hope you all appreciate it, 'cuz it took me about four hours to get all of them in there. Not really much I can say to top that. Hope you like it, I guess. Also, does anyone know how much xp a morphic hatchet adds before it degrades? I'd test it myself, but I need those morphic tools for smithing. Okay, fixed.

where does slayer ring tele to?
More specifically, it teleports you to: -The door of Sumona's house in Pollnivneach, just a couple steps from Sumona -Just outside the final room of Tarn's Lair, right before the Terror Dogs -Just outside the door to the Slayer Tower -Just outside the entrance to the Slayer Dungeon, which incidentally is the game's closest teleport to a fairy ring

Maples > Willows?
Do the logs sell? Yes, they sell. I should know; I've sold more than 65k of them.
-
Maples > Willows?
Willows are definitely faster than maples. Maples are about the speed of yews. I would strongly recommend cutting eucalyptus to 99, then selling the eucalyptus logs to buy maple logs after you're finished if you want to train firemaking to 99. It would be more efficient than willows, and the training would be slower-paced and less demanding (which, I assume, is why you aren't cutting teaks). If you're willing to use a faster-paced method, cutting teaks and burning on the spot without banking would be better.

Professional Firemaking - Do it your way! [New: Videos]
You should be able to use these techniques to force them out. If you make vertical or diagonal lines, you can block all of their lines and, if you're good at it, not slow down your own experience. You could also fm directly in front of them, making a fire every other space to ensure you're moving faster.
