  1. If you don't like dropping, you can try eucalyptus...more efficient than willows if you make under about 700k gp/hr or so.
  2. So drop 'em then. It's not as if you're making big bucks out of willows; they're only 18 gp and they don't sell anyway.
  3. Fishing is pretty slow cash actually.
  4. Yes, if you want to train firemaking and woodcutting, burning your teaks instead of dropping is a very good way to do it.
  5. I would strongly recommend teaks instead of willows anyway, so hopefully it's moot.
  6. The Castle Wars teak is slower experience because there's only one. I recommend the Tai Bwo Wannai or Ape Atoll ones. Ape Atoll is best because there's no randoms, but if you haven't done Monkey Madness then Tai Bwo is more accessible. Dragon axes are definitely worth it; morphic axes, not so much, since the time you spend at SC could be spent cutting teaks and you'd get more xp in the same time. Expect maybe around 60-70k exp/hr at teaks if you drop.
  7. The best way to improve would be to get better equipment. Most importantly, a better weapon. I recommend getting 60 attack and using a dragon longsword or a toktz-xil-ak (obsidian sword)/berserker necklace. Even better, 70 attack and a whip.
  8. They're not crowded. You can find them in Tai Bwo Wannai, the Kharazi Jungle, or Ape Atoll...the fastest experience is from dropping them. However, if you want to bank, you could get a lot of trading sticks and use Rionasta's parcel service in Tai Bwo, and still get faster xp than willows with more cash too. (I'd recommend dropping, but trading sticks are only about 6 gp on the GE.)
  9. None of the above...teaks are faster and more efficient than all of those.
  10. If you don't care about experience, why fish for money? There's nothing in the skill that gives anything better than mediocre profit. Sharks, trawler, and monkfish are all no better than mining pure essence for Guthix's sake. -.-
  11. You should do Swan Song then...lobsters are really slow for cash.
  12. Every fish gets marginally faster with every level-up, and as such there is no one level where a fish becomes "fast" to catch; they will gradually increase in speed with each level. Incidentally, lobsters are never worth fishing in p2p, and not especially good in f2p either.
  13. You could try charging air orbs...with a terrorbird I've been able to make about 500-550 of em per hour, which is like 40k exp/hr with some decent profit, comparable to humidifying vials last I checked.
  14. The confused barbarian drops mangled bones 100%, so that's the easiest way to do that task, unless the mith drag you kill for the other task happens to give you a lucky drop.
  15. What I meant was that the bonus experience can be used up within three minutes.
  16. Do Fairy Tale Part 1. It has no farming requirement to complete and it gives you 3500 experience, which should get you to level 18 from your current level. It also gives you magic secateurs, an invaluable tool for farming. After that, you can plant the highest level trees, fruit trees, and herbs that you can. It's only a couple runs until 25, so you should be able to get it within two days at the most, without much effort. Actually, you could then do Forgettable Tale (which requires 17 farming) and get another 5k experience, which is 25 farming all on its own. Quests ftw.
  17. That's arguably the best use, yes, I suppose. Perhaps crafting and construction as well...but most of the tools are good enough to not feel like you're missing out on training anything when you play SC. Data for the butterfly net, by the way, is conspicuously absent. :P
  18. I wrote a guide on this very subject: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=766236 Currently, if you buy and sell at median without cleaning the herbs, the most profitable herb is ranarr, followed closely by snapdragon (the difference in profitability between the two is very small so I recommend snaps for the xp), followed by toadflax, followed by kwuarm. The order changes with market fluctuations, but those four are always on top in some arrangement or another. And yes, the disease rate is 10%. True, more expensive seeds have a greater loss if you die; however, the more expensive herbs also mean a very significantly higher profit when you get an exceptionally large harvest compared to the herbs from cheaper seeds. The two extremes balance out to an average of 6-7 herbs per patch as an accurate measure of a seed's profitability. In short, both ranarr and toadflax are solid choices. If I were you, I'd plant ranarr/snapdragon when I can, but keep a stock of toadflax/kwuarm for when I run out in case I forget to restock or don't feel like buying more.
  19. AKA don't get the Volatile tools; they're too unpredictable to use for training, especially if you're only training a single skill (like smithing). Seconded. They last maybe three minutes before they transform themselves again. Oh, and the armour/weapons have unlimited transformations until their charge runs out. When they stop giving double xp, you can no longer transform them.
  20. I prefer to judge people by what they say and do instead of what their levels are. Anyone can get a high level in any skill; it's really not that hard. I have the most respect for the players who have proven that they know what they're doing, generally by writing really good guides on stuff...examples would be Qeltar or Zarfot. Well actually, that's a bit of a fib. I have the most respect for the Jagex mods. They're the ones in charge. ;) Here's the hierarchy: Chuck Norris > Jagex mods > players who really know what they're doing > player mods > players who know what they're doing > players who are respectful, or at least nice > Bob the Jagex Cat > Cyrisus ( ) > penguins > Wise Old Man > players who can't spell > lv2 men > lv2 goblins > Drunken Dwarf > players who can't spell and don't know what they're doing either > chickens > dirt > cheaters > hackers > bots Chuck Norris goes first because I'm pretty sure the laws of physics require it. Not putting him there is like sneezing with your eyes open or kissing your elbow--it's just something you can't do.
  21. The catchrate is identical. It's just the animation that's different. Barehanding is better because of the fewer randoms and strength xp, that's all.
  22. Charms > money. I can make money at anything I want to do. Fishing, farming, cooking, woodcutting, thieving, combat, I can get money from anything. Whereas I can only get charms from killing things. And I can only get the fastest charms by killing stuff that I don't like killing as much as other stuff that drops fewer charms. And between farming, Miscellania, and my daily battlestaves, cash flows into my pockets and I barely need to ask it; charms require active hunting. So yeah, I'm going to be using my gold charms on arctic bears. Priorities, man, priorities. Summoning xp > cash.
  23. You think Underground Pass is bad, try Ratcatchers. Sneaking past the guards was the worst. :wall: I did Underground Pass at 52 agility and didn't have any trouble with the agility obstacles, so I can't really relate, sorry.
  24. This "best non-degradable armour" is all [cabbage]. It's not worth an extra 12,000,000 gp to save yourself 60,000 gp in repairs; how is that not obvious?
  25. Trouble Brewing is underrated. :D I don't have a problem with ancienters in SC. You just need to be prepared for them is all. If you don't die the first time, you won't get stuck in the awkward position of trying to escape the spawn room with a group of ice barragers attacking you as soon as you exit, and you can pickpocket them from behind or whatever. Mages have the right to cast their spells. I wouldn't begrudge any mage free runes in a minigame...it would be cruel to expect them to pay for their expensive barrage spells when melee and range get to fight for free, don't you agree?
