  1. So is your argument about risk or efficiency? I ask, because one would think that if your argument was about efficiency, then you'd argue that the reason you don't MH on a PvP world is because you can't use extremes/overloads on them, which would mean fewer kills per hour which would make you less efficient. But instead, you focus only on the cost aspect, which doesn't really matter any. I mean, how does killing, say, a boss monster on a non-PvP server wearing 650M worth of gear make you less efficient then killing a boss monster on a PvP server wearing 650M worth of gear? Do divines work differently on a PvP server? Do chaotic weapons hit less often on a PvP server? Does logging onto a PvP cause the stats on your armor to degrade? And so on and so forth. The bottom line is that your argument really isn't one of efficiency, but rather convenience. That is, you do what's more convenient for you, and what's more convenient for you is to run someone else off then it is to world hop in search of an empty world or log on to a world which carries heavier penalties if you were to die. Everything else beyond that fact is simply you trying to rationalize crashing. Risk can factor into efficiency. If you figure you die an average of once every ~300 hours and you lose 650m every time you die, suddenly your average profit drops by 2m gp/hr. If instead you only risk 10m, that drops to closer to 30k gp/hr. Big difference. One problem. In my example, I'm getting rid of the perpetrator (The crasher), while your example gets rid of the victim (The crashed). Who's to say the crasher isn't the victim of overcrowded worlds? Why isn't it just the responsibility of the weaker player to suck it up and back down from a fight he can't win? A lower-level player who sticks around after getting crashed to annoy the crasher sounds to me like more of a griefer than a victim.
  2. Of course. High levels mean you have the ability to fight for spawns. Personally, I fail to see the elitism in acknowledging and embracing that success in competition is a function of your levels.
  3. Yeah, especially if you resell them at 1 charge.
  4. You get xp from planks by making things out of them. You get the same xp for your plank no matter what you build.
  5. http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/top100.ws?list=0&scale=0
  6. Do Love Story. Then it doesn't matter. I keep my house in Pollnivneach so that I can use it as a Slayer Ring teleport destination--it's just convenient. If you want it as a teleport destination rather than merely a hub, the only spot that isn't readily accessible by some other method is Rimmington. Spirit tree should be planted in Etceteria for the bush patch, tbh. Use Brimhaven tabs for the fruit tree, it's just as fast. Or charter a ship from Catherby after the fruit tree there.
  7. I am not paying two mil for a mask. And even if I was willing, I don't have the bank space. Yes, exactly. You're doing it wrong. No offense or anything--you're doing it wrong on purpose and you know you're doing it wrong, so there's nothing wrong with it. Besides, well, you know. [/hide] Who made you the authority on the right and wrong way to train slayer? It may be a less efficient way, a slower way, or simply different from the way you do it, but that does not make it the wrong way. Whatever way any given player decides to train slayer is the right way, for them, and it's not your place to call it wrong. You can recommend a faster or more effective way, but your opinion that it is "wrong" does not make it fact. I didn't say it was wrong. I only said it was wrong. There's a difference. If you're wrong, you're wrong, but the right to be wrong is essential to any meaningful definition of freedom, so there's nothing inherently wrong about exercising one's right to be wrong, other than being wrong. And for the record, I made me an authority on the right and wrong way to train slayer. :shades:
  8. Sell the gems without cutting them. You're better off training crafting with battlestaves.
  9. Sounds good to me. Although it'd be better if there were actually quests for all the skills. :???:
  10. When in doubt, use the official QuestHelp.
  11. So...you pretty much just made all this up, am I right? :ugeek: Your theory is interesting but incorrect. The visage is more likely part of a separate drop table entirely, like charms--we can reasonably infer this because it's dropped in addition to the normal drop, not instead of it. And the ring of wealth definitely doesn't work the way you think it does.
  12. Runecrafting. The xp is much slower and much more valuable.
  13. Falcons or salamanders should be fine. (Butterflies are definitely not going to work.)
  14. Well, you can PM me if you need a teammate when I'm online. I've been having a similar problem myself.
  15. Can't assist on trees. Just save them. You'll get the farming level eventually, right?
  16. Normal, oak, and achey logs chop at the same rate with a rune hatchet, at least at 99 woodcutting, if I recall correctly. Everything willow and up is significantly faster with dragon.
  17. It's better to kill the smaller archer ninjas so that you can use the greegree with the hollow log shortcut from Fairy Tale 3.
  18. 95 prayer is good.
  19. If you're still playing at this point, then there's a good chance membership is worth the money. Try that? Otherwise, play some minigames, I guess.
  20. Most of the monsters that can see through a hood are weak to the 2H's attack styles anyway, aren't they? So it's no big deal that you can't stab.
  21. Just make sure you use supercompost, or they will be unhappy plants. :ugeek:
  22. Also, do all the quests that give farming xp.
  23. Looks like I finished my July review just in time to write another post about August. Figures.
  24. Crafting: The short version is that battlestaves are the most efficient method. Make those. Good xp (so long as you don't mess around with charging orbs or alching) and affordable. The long version is http://runescoop.com/html/rs_TheRuneScoopSkillOptimizationGuideforRuneScapeCraf.htm. Hunter: Salamanders. Mining: Granite is fastest. If you try that and don't like it, try iron. If you try iron and don't like it, well, there's not much else. Do shooting stars too, and be sure to use a dragon pickaxe. Smithing: What Vulxai said. Firemaking/Woodcutting: The most efficient method for the two together is to chop & burn teaks. Teaks are kinda slow to get to, though; I would personally prefer ivy for convenience, since I'm always leaving and coming back for farming runs. In that case maples are fine for fm. Thieving: Your choice of, in order of speed, blackjacking, plunder, or Sorceress's Garden. They all have very different gameplay; try them all and see which you like best. Herblore: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Potions, http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Unfinished_potions, http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Herbs, http://runescoop.com/html/rs_TheRuneScoopSkillOptimizationGuideforRuneScapeHerb.htm. Have fun. Agility: Wildy course. Runecrafting: Natures are fine. Alternately, laws. Fishing: Fly fishing is fastest. Heavy rod fishing is viable--slower than fly fishing without the sturgeon, but you get agility to make up for it. Monkfish are an option too. http://runescoop.com/html/rs_TheRuneScoopSkillOptimizationGuideforRuneScapeFish.htm Finally, I'll add that you should make sure to do all the quests which give xp rewards in these skills; they're a great resource, and you should use them as soon as possible, as the xp becomes less valuable the more you level up.
  25. You're going to want to make sure you make a strong supply of all the extremes before you get to 99. It would be a waste to have to keep making a bunch of really expensive potions that give lots of xp when you're already 99. Although no matter how you slice it, you'll probably end up with way more spec restores than you'll ever need.
