  1. Just another example of the blantant attacks on organized religion permeating the minds of those pro-gay rights. Just because you don't agree with someone's views doesn't mean you should call them a "nut". Have I ever called a gay person a "nut"? Despite me being a pretty vocal anti-gay marriage poster I've never stooped that low.
  2. This. Inequal treatment can never lead to equality - and that's exactly what this is. The governments shortcomings are not the business of private industry.
  3. No, it's about the money. It's always about the money. We're not going to get solar panels because the money it saves us will be less than the cost of the solar panels themselves. Where in the article does it say that? As far as I know it doesn't. What it seemed to me was that they're trying to cut energy usage. If they're willing to renovate buildings that would cost a lot to do so in the name of energy effeciency, wouldn't that imply that they're interested in energy-saving rather than money saving? Not the companies, the consumers. I said in my comment how we aren't going to go with it, not the companies won't give it to us to save them money. Have to agree with this. These changes will never be supported by the masses if it's going to cost them a lot. Personally, I'm willing to make financial sacrifices where possible to save energy and help treat the planet better, but a lot of people would rather not miss their Caribbean vacation.
  4. Why is that? Because RS is nerdy as freaking hell. Dragons? Swords? MAgics? Potions? Wizards? Monsters with nerdy names like "Bork" (dork) "Mahjarrat" (or w/e). Also, EXPERIENCE. (The word itself) Herblore? Runecrafting? Nerd territory. So nerds can't be gay? I know some pretty cool people who played rs, I think it's a little unfair to generalize. EDIT: Although if you're referring to stereotypes, I suppose you don't exactly picture the "queen" types hunched over the computer all day long.

Well at the moment I just can't afford it, period. I'll suck it up and buy one eventually though :P

I think the main benefit to having a car is time and flexibility. For example, I considered buying a car to travel to my last internship, but opted for the bus instead. Where I spent 3 hours a day on the bus, I would have barely spent an hour in the car. Furthermore, the bus fare of $6 a day is more than the (anticipated) $4 I would have spent on gas. Really, it's maintenance and insurance that end up making car ownership such a pain in the ass. In my bracket (and I'm sure many here can sympathize) insurance costs are through the roof.
  7. Meh - as long as they don't try to force the Church of England to perform/allow their buildings to be used I'm apathetic.
  8. Good job PKM, good luck in round 2!
  9. If you're comfortable with soldering then you could try to solder them back on, otherwise send it to a shop - it should be a relatively easy fix for them.
  10. Nice to see some new things happening, keep up the good work :)
  11. Basically the same as Racheya, while I'm definitely proud to be Canadian, it doesn't make me better than anyone else, and Canada is certainly far from perfect.
  12. Something to think about: Helping her is great, but a relationship should be a two way street. A relationship could never function with you only helping her. And if you were to eventually get tired and break up with her.....well that would make her even worse. I know you're not thinking of pursuing a relationship, but just some things to think about if you find yourself changing your mind.
  13. Let's see, the parliament has a majority of women, and our president and prime minister are women. I still agree that it's not equal though, women still earn less. Well that's great. But looking at the American and UK Governments... supposedly 'progressive' and 'fair' countries... You do wonder why that is though, it's not like women are being purposely excluded. It just seems like most women don't want to run. The city I live in has a female mayor, and she's [bleep]ing awesome :D
  14. RPG, call me a selfish [wagon] but I'd avoid a relationship with someone like that. The undoubtedly low self esteem brings a host of other problems down the road, and while it may be possible for her to eventually get over that, it's likely to be a big mess.
  15. This. Besides, you should live every day like it's your last :P
  16. Fuel is a great song? Oh my. King Nothing I can agree with.
  17. I <3 bubblehearth :D

  19. Agree 100%. 3D movies are almost always half assed and annoying to watch. I can get so much more into the movies when they're good old fashioned 2d. [hide=spoilers for the ending of part 1] It will end after Harry and the gang get caught by the Death Eaters and are being escorted to Malfoy mansion.[/hide] Definitely. That'll be a real cliffhanger for those who haven't read the book, although I do wonder how they'll do the opening of the second..... PREVIOUSLY, ON HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS....
  20. I'm no firefox expert, but there error it's giving you is basically saying it's looking for a file it needs to operate firefox - and this file appears to be a last.fm related java archive. Are you using any addon that might be related to last.fm? Or are you on the site while browsing? I honestly have no idea how it works.
  21. Well it makes sense to do procedural first, then OOP - which is what I did as well (with Java though). I've never taken any C++ courses but it seems to me they should at least touch on gui.
  22. Yeah Swiftkit runs on IE. Chrome or Firefox will be a better option.
  23. Ambassador is useless. Disguise (anything but medic or spy usually) then stealth. Run till it's almost out, let it recharge, etc. Try to stay in corners where they aren't likely to look. Once you get behind them, start running behind someone, unstealthing within 15 feet, then backstab. When taking out engy installations, sap the sentry, bs the engy, then sap the tele/dispenser.
  24. LFM 10 TOC, must be able to not stand in fire.
