  1. Awesome quest, I love anything to do with the majharrat. Hopefully this new quest chain will open up alot more of their backstory. Also does anyone know where Ali the wise can be found after the quest? I want closure
  2. I wouldn't say F2pers as a whole are less mature, its just that the idiots seem to be the most vocal people in F2p. There are plently of mature F2p that I've met but equally so it is the start point for people, so I guess new players have to learn/be shown how be nice players at some point at that normally happens while there F2p.
  3. The comic actually made me laugh, but I guess my horrible sense of humor isnt a gauge for a good joke. Nice article on merchants too, I cant say I agree with there methods but at present they're not really breaking any rules. Until Jagex decides to take action against them, which I have no idea how they'll do it sucessfully, there an Evil we have to live with.
  4. Name a single instance where they thought something through, changed it, and later changed it again without a single ounce of feedback or additional info. Any update that a single person complained about or pointed out a single issue doesn't count, as that's extra info. For a set of given information there isn't a single case where they failed to think things through. Wait a second an "instance where they thought something through, changed it, and later changed it again without a single ounce of feedback or additional info" is different from failing to think things through, instances of that are numerous off the top of my head I could call out the loss of the rants forum which only months later was recreated and called a stupid decision for removing it in the first place. Im not quite sure of an instance that you want me to give an example of or really what you mean (thats not a snipe, i guess im just being slow) Overall value lost (If your refering to the overall value lost by all players due to the being "cheated" by the system?) may or may not change, in fact if I had to guess I would think it would increase at first and then decrease when people became adjusted to the new system or stopped using it after learning the hard way it would need some managing. If by this you mean the system with which you choose your items kept on death would redude prices of certain items and as a result make the people who get these drops less money then I see how its affecting other people but in my personal opinion the bonuses for the average player would out weigh the negatives.
  5. Yeah the laser fusion lab is incredible. And they've fired the lasers before, but there are so many of them that have to hit such an exact point that they've actually never hit before, but they hope to do so soon. ;) I've got a Physics teacher who raves about nuclear fussion, hes under the impression that the country that finally cracks it will be the next huge world power. Hes got a point, after all if a country could supply power to all its citizens without any external help and could sell the rest on, it could create quite a monopoly.
  6. You really believe that the current system cant be improved upon at all? I think thats pretty poor to be honest, granted its easy for me to type a couple lines and call it a solution when it has gaping holes but surely it can be changed to the extent that once in a while it can work to someones advantage without massive changes. Fair enough the idea of changing drop rates is much easier said than done, but really i guess thats just me overlooking one of the issues and covering it to late down the line. And as I see it JaGex did become become the second largest online game corporation in the world by failing to think things through at times, they've done it several ocassions and often corrected them at later dates. Anyway failing to think things through and changing old systems to incorparate changes to an ever evolving games are different things entirely. It not a case of the old system being unplayable, its simply a case of changing things in minor ways to improve it. Anyway the basis of what I tried to say in my old post (which upon re-reading is not clear) was that the value system remains in place but could be over ridden manually to allow a player to select a fire cape for example over a lesser item. I see what your saying about it making a complicated system but i think its one people who really cared what items they kept would get use to, If you didnt want to take time to use it you wouldn't have to.
  7. It seems to me that a blend of the current system and the proposed system in which you choose what items you keep on death would work without massive issues. So if you dont choose what you want to keep on death and end up dying well I guess it would be a case of tough luck but if you do then your choosen item(s) remains as a protected item until you remove it from your inventory, unequip it or use it. As soon as you die with said items you get a message reminding you either: a) what your keep on death items are, or B) that your items have reset to the system of which is most valuable. Granted, that system isnt streamlined or perfect but I would allow someone who is really worried about their items to make sure they keep hold of them and people who die and feel cheated by the current system would really only have themselves to blame. Tbh I think its difficult to gauge the impact this would have on the economy of certain items but really the only outcome I can see would be that certain items prices fall, which could possibly be combated by lowering there drop rate?
  8. Thats not really a problem, the fact that Tif takes its self seriously is one of its greatest attributes as far as Im concerned. I your looking for randomness nad general BS then RSOF alreadly exists for than. When you actually want to see some intellegent opinions on whats going on in RS than Tifs much better, you dont need to sift though loads of crap to get to a post that makes sense. I get what your saying but a the fact that the RSOF already has such random stuff means Tif doesnt need to copy it. As far as the "communitys going to Rat-[cabbage]" arguement goes I really dont agree. The are ocassional peaks in general moronity but overall I'd say Tif is as good as its been since I've been a member (granted, not ages) and since Ive been visiting the forums. I guess its hard to gauge though, really it boils down to an individuals experiences on the boards. If you end up incountering alot of idiots then your opinion of Tif and the community is gonna drop.
  9. That's a myth, it doesn't help your eye sight at all. That was a Myth the British government made up in WW2 to promote people growing and eating there own veg and explain why there fighters where beating the Germans at night or so I believe, the actually reason they where beating them was infact the British use of radar. That or someone has been lying to me again
  10. Tiga seems extremely complimentary towards JaGex, cant say I've heard of Tiga before though, Doubt it'll effect JaGex to much, sounds like Tigas just happy their on board so other companies might join.
  11. Meh.. bit of a mixed bag really, Some of the cutscenes looked nice but alot of the game play parts just looked a bit weird. Tbh Ive seen better Rs videos on Tif than that.
  12. Awesome idea, Id love to see some of the old quest cutscenes, quite a few have probably even been updated since I did them so they'd be new to me. Only difficulty i could see with this idea would be that the game would either have to remember what you looked like when you did the quest or just have you wearing what your wearing when you ask to replay the cutscene.
  13. people complaining about how useless the new reward is annoy me so much, if you dont like how it looks fair enough but complaining about its uselessness is just stupid. For one, when have we ever had any really useful hoilday items and two a few hoilday events ago they made an item which was designed to be useful and everyone just complained it wasnt useful enough. Granted the thing which held extra food was pretty lame but if the reward was any better it would be like giving new players something overpowered. Seriously what to people want? "Congratulations on completing the Easter hoilday event, you have been rewarded with the Easter Godsword"
  14. God i was confused as to why everyone else had a weird little comment and mine only told me when i last logged in #-o It would appear I fail hard
  15. Pretty good quest overall, just to short sadly. Seems as if jagex are spending more and more time on seasonal events, normally on April 1st we just get an awful pun and a losely related item.
  16. Then your older than Jagexs target market... ( : ojin) The game may have changed massively in 5 years but it is still Rs2, will be interesting to see if it continues standing the test of time for another 5 years. Personally I think there'll still be an Rs 5 years down the line but whether it'll be Rs2 as the main game Im not really sure.
  17. Hope your happy people, poor guy was just trying to stop others failing quite so hard, you've crushed his dream. Tut Tut
  18. I lol'd far to hard at omali's comic, : Anyway I guess theres been a bit on a slow down on the update front to make sure that quest 150 was sucessful, which imo it was. I think that we'll see updates more regularly now, the lack of a Bts is just so that Jagex doesnt have to rush or play down content to meet deadlines, this way we wont need updates fixing them and quality should prevail over quantity.
  19. Not sure thats true, Iban is referenced as the "Son of Zamorak" in more of a symbolic way imo, after all he was a human black knight who was resurrected before he took control of the underground pass, and im not sure Majharrats have human child, do they?
  20. God i hate to say it but the old pvp system was so much simpler, Why couldn't we just have random drops in the wildy? That seems logical too, almost to logical. And as for my personal two cents on the whole is 26king thing against the rules or moral? Well no for both, it obviously not how the pvp aspects of the game were designed to be played so why its okay to do it doesnt make sense. As for people saying "If its wrong, why dont they ban it?" Well if Y'all can try an' put ya thinkin caps on and recall the last time Jagex took major action to stop people using a pvp system to cheat you may just recall player reaction was less than positive so my guess would be Jagex are on their tippy toes about not doing something drastic to its replacement.
  21. I'd love to play RsC as I missed it the first time around, and if this update happened I probably would try it just to see what it was like. Really though it would getting boring though if you could have what ever levels and items you wanted and as people have said it would screw up RsC for current players. Maybe if you had new RsC players on seperate worlds it might work, but if I busted my balls getting 99 in a skill in RsC and then my friend logs on for a second and gets a 99 it would kinda ruin it for me.
  22. I guess you'd need to define metal? Some people I know dont even consider Metallica heavy enough to be called metal (not that it is really heavy, but come on that is metal, right?) I like Bands such as Metallica and Machine Head but I wouldn't say the vast majority of Rs players would enjoy them. To be brutally honest the average age of the Rs gamer probably means the most popular music would be your lowest common denominator Radio 1 pop music unfornunately. As far as the most popular music on these forums goes you might be able to argue that metal is number one.
  23. Ye Iban has nothing to do with WGS its all Lucien, Also I can say I've ever heard that Guthix is the Big Z's father, Am I out of the loop or is that just speculation? Anyway there isnt an offical article on the Gods histories on Tip.it (that I know of) but as someone pointed out the Rs wiki has alot on the Gods backgrounds if you need info. Your list is also missing Zaros and the desert Gods/Demigods, although they are really as important as the core ones.
  24. I think the word legend is over used nowadays, but is it just me who thinks Mod MMG is the greatest legend in the history of mankind? oh... it is just me? fair enough, but the fact he promises things and then does them pretty swiftly is awesome. Not that Jagex has ever been terrible at this but MMG seems to really have revitalised player support for Jagex with some seemingly simple moves. This looks like it could be the best one so far, cant wait.
  25. Ill probably still log in time from time but i doubt ill be playing as much as I do now. So I guess my skills will be pretty much the same as they are now,
