BLASPHEMY! Good job proving his point lol. Also most mainstream metal bands are overrated tbh, the elements that cause them to be mainstream usually really detract from the music. What defines a mainstream metal band according to you? Give a couple of names so i know what you're on about. Metallica, System of a Down, Slipknot, Disturbed, Megadeath, Rammstein, Bullet for my Valentine, Pantera, Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold etc etc (thats just a list of most popular metal on last.fm.) Basically most of this. The fact that so many people listen to it shows that the metal part of the music is mostly gone and that bands have either sold out or never made good music in the first place. I think the amount of listeners in comparison to lots of other good metal bands would make them way overrated. And yeah shoot me for using last.fm :mrgreen:

Since everyone apparently likes the mars volta and posts it in their lists I tried it, it's actually pretty good. Guess I'll listen to some more. And I think people should take a little more time for a list and do 40+ albums with actual descriptions of what the music is like. But I guess I shouldn't complain because I can't be bothered to do one myself.

Want to back that up? For that first 17 a few posts above I got 15 herbs (empty inv space at first patch with my inv) first, I noted them and I then I got 2 more. And I haven't seen a significant increase in yield either, my max amount of herbs is still 19 (someone on here had 21 or 22) and my average is close to what everyone else reports as their average. Circumstantial nonsense I say.

I hope england either wins or loses 4-1 or something so they can't complain about that. Pretty good match so far though.

Hmm I have the same thing with beer, sometimes I start to feel bad after 2-3 beers and sometimes I can do 7-8 without feeling sick or anything. Problem is that in the 2nd case I usually have to throw up after I've gone to bed, no idea what my problem is. I can either not stand alcohol, carbon dioxide (I think thats in beer too) or both. It's probably the alcohol since I also get nauseous from vodka. Pretty annoying but meh you get used to it.

I actually really like Have a Nice Life even though I've never bothered to read the lyrics (nor the 75 page booklet :mellow:) :P Most punkrock and stuff like that (the offspring sum41 and more of that) is really overrated, the songs are all the same and they usually have some fake happy sound to them. And yeah I never really liked Tool, mostly because I couldn't care less if something is deep.

Im considering going to 65daysofstatic later this year if any friends want to go with me, don't think they'd want to though. I really need to start going to concerts, seems pretty awesome and fun.

Probably all 90+ but wont make it this summer, is more of a 2010 goal. Also getting stuff like ma ranks for monsterhunting gear.

Hmm he's less bad than most other vocalists but he still holds too many notes for too long, you really don't have to draw out every word in a sentence to sing. Plus I don't think singing should be so high in the mix, why can't the riffs or the overall sounds be the focus? But I digress. Agreed, already maxed slayer so I probably wont get many effigies but if I get any I'll just be keeping them until I have the level, the level 97 one should be the only hard one since you can just stew the other ones from level 90. Though I do think you should be able to assist someone without getting xp if you have already maxed out your assist for that day.

I could say the same thing about bands with vocalists who grunt/scream, why don't you listen to those? Easy, you don't like them (just generalizing here, no idea what you actually listen to). Even though they are pretty good bands. Singing vocalists just aren't my thing, I have primordial and don't even dislike the music but the singer totally turns me off. He is good if you like that kind of singing but if you dislike it it just ruins the music as a whole. Did listen to gamma ray and iron maiden for a while too but then moved on to in my opinion better music. Tried kamelot and couldn't delete it fast enough, despite everyone loving the vocalist I found him pretty horrible. And I honestly don't care for meaning in music, I want interesting riffs, vocalists that don't sound like they're trying too hard, and no cheesy stuff. Yes I agree. Problem with cheesy riffs is that to me it sounds good once or twice and then it turns really boring and predictable. Cheesy vocals don't even sound good the first listen :P I think I just really dislike people 'actually singing' in metal, they all sound like they're trying too hard and wail too much, really turns me off. Ooh checked out some more Gridlink on yt and they're actually pretty good. Gotta be in the mood for it though. I personally cannot stand most metal vocalists that actually sing, wailing vocals with cheesy lyrics isn't my thing. Not to mention most power/folk/whatever riffs are pretty boring and cheesy too. They may have an amazing voice and range but I honestly don't care, still sounds annoying to me (the guy from Manilla Road is a nice example). Would much rather have a singer with a nice scream/grunt so it doesn't detract from the rest of the music and might even sound pretty cool. Favourite genres would be death/brutal death/tech death/black/post/sludge metal and combinations between those, I've kind of grown out of it now though but still like it once in a while. Gorguts/Decapitated is awesome when you're in a bad mood. Same would go for Gridlink :P

What's with all the 50's the guy hits in the first vid? Is it some kind of recoil thing? Wait never mind it's a spec, morrigan javs right?

So no penalties or something, bit of a shame. I think the Netherlands are the first team qualified for the 1/8th finals now, since Denmark beat Cameroon. They really need to start playing better though.
