  1. One Hour By the Concrete Lake is my favourite Pain of Salvation album. The others are all pretty meh to me. Anyone into Nevermore here? Their latest album came out a while ago and it's pretty solid. Nowhere near as incredible as This Godless Endeavor, but it's definitely worth a listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9iRz2nEFPo

    Drink more of it.

Isn't the overwhelming response [to Illmatic] by general music fans enough for you? I'm also going to step in and say it's a really good album just to enforce my point.

Uh... what? I don't know if you're trying to state this as an opinion or a fact; if you do think it's a fact then you're very, very mistaken. The thing is, people hate on mainstream hip-hop because it isn't really hip-hop in the truest sense of the word. More often than not, it is pop music with a black man rapping over it plus autotune. It doesn't make the music any less legitimate. Also, people don't "try" to be indie or obscure. If you do love music and a certain genre, you will gradually immerse yourself into the underground once you've listened to the more popular artists. It's a natural progression as one yearns for fresh listening. A lot of music gets stale quickly so new finds are required in order to keep your listening palate fed.
  5. They're probably the best melodic screamo band. If you like them you could check out other French screamo bands too; Mihai Edrisch is another favourite of mine but they're pretty raw.
  6. @Lenin: You might wanna check Running Wild out if you're into Alestorm. They were doing something similar a long time ago. They're pretty good as well. Under Jolly Roger is probably the album to get. @Maleficus: I never liked Darkthrone's crust much. Their latest album is really good, though. Anaal Nathrakh is certainly influenced by grind so I guess they would count if you're fairly liberal about it. They're a good listen once in a while, too. @istolethepie: Try Protest the Hero, perhaps.
  7. Yo. Yeah, we need one of these. Kamelot and Agalloch are incredible. Karma and The Black Halo are probably two of the best symphonic metal albums out there in a genre that's usually really awful. Khan has so much charisma and the emotions and atmosphere he wants to convey in the music and lyrics always shines through as it's intended. Regarding Agalloch, I like Pale Folklore and Ashes Against the Grain. They're the band that got me into folk and later black metal; their music just never gets old. I mostly like death metal, black metal, doom metal and power metal. Melodic death metal really doesn't click with me as much as it used to - I would rather listen to death metal and power metal seperately rather than mixed together. Some of my favourite bands include: Neuraxis, Anata, Morbid Angel, Warning, Emperor, Impaled Nazarene, Fates Warning, Versailles, Insomnium, Electric Wizard and the aforementioned Agalloch and Kamelot. Anyone into crust and grindcore here (if the OP doesn't mind us discussing metal offshoots ITT)? I've been looking for some good melodic crust for a while but all of it seems boring. Fall of Efrafa and Perth Express are decent though. GridLink, Splitter, Japanische Kampfhoerspiele, Pig Destroyer, Nasum and Napalm Death are my favourite grindcore bands. Check my last.fm for more. Not scrobbled everything I've listed yet though.
  8. Too much to list. I was a pretty crazy kid but I grew out of it fast.
  9. Now, now. There wasn't any need for that sort of attitude. Sure, the OP barely gave us anything to go on but you could try and help, no? http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=74516 <- try this. I'm not familiar with ATi but the more obvious fixes seem to be in there.
  10. What else is new.
  11. How can it be confusing to use? I agree about it not being great for music, but neither is the Microsoft Crashware that we call Windows Media Player; use Songbird instead. Songbird is vile. Winamp, foobar2000 or WMP if you don't download music in formats outside of MP3.
  12. You could try Nervous Light of Sunday. Melodic and the production is pretty good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F93s4GiEKb0 Also Envy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiao6fQLy4Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtY3pMP8pzE Daitro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-_H00XiwCg Daitro f***ing rules and everyone should listen to them.
  13. 大塚愛 - スーパーマン (Otsuka Ai - Superman)
  14. Baccano! is ballin'.
  15. SNSD is alright purely because they don't try to be "ghetto" or some other silly thing that a lot of other Korean groups tend to try and pull off. Oh and also, Sunny is pretty adorable. [never mind]
  16. It depends quite a bit on how well you look after them, but I would definitely expect to get at least five years out of a computer. Most people upgrade after three years though.
  17. 凛として時雨 (Rin Toshite Shigure) - 夕景の記憶 (Memories of Sunset) This band is quite something. I'm going to translate my Japanese titles from now on, if I remember.
  18. You watch stuff fast, haha. I can't remember the last time I watched more than four episodes of anime in a day. Oh and thanks for reminding me about Paranoia Agent; I'll check that one out.

Oh look. It's another insipid meta-thread. Anyway, post count as an indication of the quality of a user's post is not a good thing to go by. There are a few people with 2,000+ posts on this board that certainly don't post stuff that I would call "quality", but that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad posters. Join date is equally superficial. What's with all this "I don't trust links from users with low post count" stuff? It's probably the silliest thing I've ever heard anywhere. You should know if a link is suspicious or not and not have to look at the user's post count to make your decision for you.
  20. Brace for hipster/wapanese lowlife. 1. Shadow of the Colossus 2. Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner 3. Dark Cloud 4. Virtua Fighter 4 5. Gran Turismo 4 :> All are PS2.
  21. Yup. Sony exclusives have always been something to sway me towards their consoles. It's not that the 360 is bad or anything; it's just that whenever I go to a game shop and browse through, four out of five times I never find anything really that interesting in the section. I would say I can find something three out of five times with the PS3 section - it's a smaller catalogue, sure, but overall it has more titles that cater towards my taste of awful RPGs.

Two weeks old and they're wonderful.
  23. I'm usually very high/super with people so it's really unusual to come here and get a bunch of very lows and stuff.
  24. PS3 has Valkyria Chronicles.
  25. I think you got that mixed up. Generally an FPS player will benefit from low CPI/DPI for accuracy. I will recommend the razer deathadder (original or 3.5G) but theres also, Steelseries Xai (not reliable) Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical 1.1 Mouse Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 MX518 I also prefer to use a lower DPI setting when I play an FPS. Too high and I'm all over the place. I have it on maximum when I'm playing an RTS as well.
