  2. Wow you serious? Thats really bad cheap tactics used by scummy companies. They dont need to do it like that its just un-customer friendly. Especially with companies on a big scale like runescape. There so many free players that might try that and they probably all tricked into paying. This kinda offer is unnecessary for runescape when you got both a demo and a bigger demo available anyway. Seems mostly like a trick to make people go on the subscription unknowingly which is horrible tactics.  Doesnt matter how cheap the game is... I know when you get members they redraw the money out a couple of days before but that shouldnt be the case for this offer unless they clearly state that somewhere considering the short time available on the offer. Just horrible not to and am amazed the way the company is acting. I expect that kinda thing from a company like amazon or something by putting it into the small print that infact they just ganna grab more money days before offer runs out. I'm pretty sure Amazon.com has more success than Jagex and its standard procedure for alot of companies. Normally when you spend money on anything, its a great idea to read the fine print, especially on the internet.
  3. Write here if u wanna have some deathmatches, full rune and r2h no p2p stuff plz.
  4. Isn't that what the Free part of the game is for? Free game is the game with the free content. Members is the game with the members content. Explain to me how a trial of members is the same as the free game? Hehe dude I think he got it :)
  5. Isn't that what the Free part of the game is for? Please re-read my post, where I write that it makes new users used to the perks. (Advantages from paying).
  6. I didnt know that but thats a great idea, most games have free trial periods and it makes new users used to the perks.
  7. I think it was their intention from the get-go to implement a good/evil system. Come to think of it there was alot more opposites in the early RS. good/evil prayer (although prayer was useless at the time until crafting anyway) good/evil magic. pk/non-pk option. Even wizard/necromancer upon character creation! But as the game progressed I believe they had to scrap the original idea due to unknown reasons. There was also alot more evil in general in the game. Like Dragnfly mentioned, there were pilejumpers. You could also see other peoples drops instantly (also pk'ed ppls loot), without wasting 60 seconds, inciting people to flock and wait like vultures to scavenge loot, when they saw 2 players fighting. There were people who had fun killing helpless miners, and others who attacked people in banks. In general there was a very evil side which alot of players chose to embrace. And to be honest this made the game pretty fun. It also pushed alot of sensitive people to the point where a poll was taken and the wilderness was implemented, and a new RS era was born. But yes, I am sure Andrew and Paul had hoped for an option to be an all-out villian in this game.
  8. Falling and hitting the tree? You mean "you fail to hit the tree" right? If that is the case, get a higher WC level, thats the only tip there is.
  9. I agree with you. It does look like Jagex are admitting that the old wilderness and pking was better in Runescape Classic. However, if you have been to the Classic wilderness, you will probably notice that it is always full of people pking each other. I think that the old wilderness was far too risky, even if you are a high combat level (say, 100 or so). Therefore, I conclude that Jagex have degraded the wilderness to make it more accessible for low level players. It also allows for quests to be held in the wilderness. I do sort of miss the old wilderness though. but how can one say that the old wilderness was far too risky, seeing as the full intention of the wild was for players to go out there well knowing that they are taking a risk. the wilderness was implemented in runescape for the sole purpose of letting players kill eachother én masse. i dont care if i've said it a billion times now but i like to say it. i like the wild, the old wild, not rs2 wild. but i liked pking everywhere even better and i would do just fine without a wilderness. running in champs guild and chuting down the ladder to get away from pkers was priceless. killing naked miners was priceless. level 3 newbs duking it out in cabbage fields was priceless. ranging ppl in banks was priceless. ranging peope from behind any fence was priceless. i could go on and on but im just rambling now hehe :P
  10. Indeed, all was good in rs2 in 2005. Those were my good 'ole days too. ya i miss playing RS wearing MC HAMMER pants and jackets with shoulder pads
  11. lol cool ur stats are screwed up for rs1! and finding someone to train with sounds funny as well since you'd essentially be cutting some of your own exp gain away hahaha :P
  12. i remember stompfest woud camp elvarg the dragon and he never completed it for the sole purpose of playing his self-proclaimed role as "scavenger" in RS. he just picked up all the stuff that peope who died to the dragon dropped hahaha i dont thik he got past lvl 50 and gunar never got past lvl 40 haha funny brothers
  13. you are NOT MY FRIEND!!!! ... YOU ARE MY FOE!!!! YOU ARE SO SMALL!!!! YOU CANNOT PLAY BASKETBALL DWARF INVASIOOOON !!
  14. priceless on rsc
  15. ...Hence the name prayer beast? did u hit ur head or is it a chronic thing? pures and prayer beasts are 2 seperate things. go back to rs2 where pures have magic and prayer, and where ranged raises ur level. perhaps it hasnt gone upside ur head yet, that prayer beasts and iron pkers are also 2 seperate thigns. since you seem to beleive that they "only wanted to hit higher". now i'll try to make this post semi-idiot proof in hopes that you might actually understand what I'm trying to relay to you. PB's were made for pure profit. NO RISK ALL PROFIT. Is that hard to understand? 25 prayer = protect r2h. (most chose 31 for the ulti str tho). Food? No you don't need that. Why? Your not gonna spend much time eating since you plan on 3 hitting your opponent anyway. Yes my friend who i saw with the first stat build of 40 1 XX XX and 25 prayer was the first prayer beast, and yes he did it so he could skull and still never lose r2h (most valuable item in RS). So YES he was the first pker with that intentional stat build therefore he was the first PB. Your major problem is your difficulty with comprehending the difference between iron pkers and PB's. Iron pkers with no prayer lost their r2h's when they died, and the prayer beast idea fixed that. Its hard taking you seriously when you have no clue. Did you not read his post? He said hence the name prayer beast. I think that means he's not calling it a pure... You need anger management. Speaking of "idiot proof", try Firefox. It has a built in spell checker. no i dont read posts i just flame them. and u insult me my spalling is quite gud i dont need firefawks thanc u veri much

With kids its because they have this feeling of godliness because they go through PvE and own the mindless goblins and other NPCs whose strategy consists of nothing more than bashing your over the head with a weapon until someone runs out of HP (er...constitution?). When they finally start fighting players and realize that they are fighting someone with a brain stem, they get pissed because that person is eating, using tactics, and outsmarting them. They want the person to stand there and die, essentially. This is why Tip.It saw a flux of "omg reverants are overpowered" (Yes, I misspelled it for effect) threads in the two years following their introduction. Players expect abundant NPCs (By abundant I mean non-boss) to be mindless and stupid, and since the revenants are among Jagex's most intelligent NPCs (Eating, speccing, tele-blocking, and more), these kiddies are at a loss for what to do. Also: Say what you want about Gidion, one thing he is not is subtle. Keep killing them, let them fume while they're in Lumbridge Well written. But I wouldn't turn chat off if I were you. Its more comic than anything else and they actually waste precious time in the chat and lose focus.

Which section of the OP's post lacks logic? The sentence you used might as well be used against you. Seeing as you are basing your statements on..... what exactly? Oh right, your personal opinion. Just like the OP did. 1. Skim through the last 48 pages of archived Jagex news, and you can see for yourself that there have been dramatic changes, furthermore helping build the OP's case. 2. "The game has been abused over the years". There is walking talking (not so much talking) evidence in the game in the form of bots and scammers, abusing the game. People abusing the chat system. People abusing bugs. People abusing eachother in any way they can think of, be it closing a door continuously to hinder someones progression, or just spamming a chat to prevent any useful information to be relayed. The last part of his post is entirely his own opinion which, when i last checked tip.it's policy he is entitled to have. So please point out the "severe" lack of logic and evidence. Or don't reply and find another post - where you might have a real chance of making yourself look good.

Obviously there is a need for these kind of topic posts, since they get 2x-3x the amount of replies compared to any other rants. It seems to me, that the need to rant about Jagex/RS, is far surpassed by other peoples needs to sound more clever than the OP or just generally act degrading towards the OP. Perhaps these people deserve their own forum, where they can pat eachother on their backs, meanwhile confirming eachother of their superiority over all mankind.

  20. lol v1rta wasnt just some chick with a beard.. he was THE chick with a beard, and pure too! you'd never see him skulled either. :P
  21. Because it IS the biggest game with over 11 million subscribers, and in my world hard facts overrule personal opinion. Even though I've been a Runescaper from the beginning I've allowed myself the option to play other MMO's with an unbiased opinion, which is hard to say for alot of Runescapers, and WoW players for that matter. Lets just keep it on the realistic end of the discussion instead, and conclude that Blizzard has far more resources in every field of development. They are also experts in multiplayer games. Need I mention D1, D2, Starcraft, Warcraft 1 ,2 and 3, of which Warcraft 3 has a number of mods played also by millions of players. In fact, every game I mentioned above still has millions of people avidly playing. Even Diablo 1 which is over 12 years old. To say that WoW will run out of ideas and content before Runescape is absurd! I beg you to take a look at other MMO's also, which have nothing to do with Blizzard. Ever heard of Ultima Online? The first time i tried it was in 1998, and its still spitting out content. Everquest is also 11 years old. Still making new stuff. DAOC? Still making new stuff. Anarchy Online? Still making new stuff. All these games are older than Runescape. Runescape is older than WoW, and WoW is a 3d MMO. 3D allows for alot more content since there is (obviously) an extra dimension implemented. I've played all of these games mentioned above, and I do not see any of them ending in the near future, nor do I see them running out of content or things to do. That includes Runescape. Just reading that you think WoW will run out of content at any point kind of tells me that you've never played the end-game. The end-game in WoW is where the game actually BEGINS. The whole process of levelling to the current max level of 80 is just a journey to the beginning. Contrary to Runescape, where the process of levelling to the max level of any skill and getting there means, that you are finished, and there is no further content. Here is the killing blow. Runescape has somewhere between 1-2 million subscribers .Yet it has 584(Today, 18th feb 2010) usernames that have "completed" the game. Ready for the big surprise yet? World of Warcraft has over 11 million subscribers. So at the very least they outnumber Runescapes subscribers 5:1. The amount of people who have completed all content in WoW is 1 person. --- That of course does not mean that RS will "die" before WoW. But it certainly contradicts what you are implying. I doubt RS will die any time soon, and I also believe it will grow bigger, if of course Jagex is up to the task of renewing the game over the next many years. In general I don't like the idea of comparing RS to WoW. Especially not on these forums since (surprise) there is a rather immature stance on Runescape vs Other games. Just don't make the stupid mistake of trying to predict the longevity of ANY game. Games like Pong, Pacman and Tetris are still played by millions of people as well. The human mind is a tricky thing ;-) P.S. If , and only if, Runescape ever runs out of content, and you find yourself sitting on your chair with an empty feeling in your stomach, you can always play Another World at www.awplanet.com. A complete rip-off at the time of Runescape, launched before RS2, but with similar RS2 graphics (which caused much hype in the old Runescape community at the time, as the game was a rip-off, but containing a more powerful engine than the RS1 engine). If you even take the time to check out that game. You will understand why I find RS2's game engine rather halting. Considering the fact that these russian dudes were lightyears ahead of Jagex back BEFORE Runescape 2 and its "ground-breaking" engine, which for some of us wasn't so ground-breaking after all. It launched in 2003 several months before RS2. If you want a taste of how Mechscape possibly (not saying it will) will look like, check out the pictures of AW below. This is not advertisement for another game. It is merely part of my case. I do not play AW nor have i played it for the last 7 years. I also do not have any affiliation to the game.
  22. If you're gonna be an idiot in this thread, you should base your idiotic statements on something. So tell us Mr. Smartypants what were PB's made for? I was a personal friend with the person who thought up the stat build, so it will be interesting to read what your personal concept of a PB is. I'd also like to see you even attempt to write a thread like this, without it being a mishmash of hand-me-down and ripped off information written by other, lets just call them more enlightened beings than yourself.
  23. sup man
  24. You make a somewhat valid and interesting arguement. I'll see what I can do - no promises. I tried the same logic to get [wagon] unfiltered here and failed - so chance are low :P hehe its ok if it cant be done mate tbh i dont know if i have the picture file anymore anyway
  25. happy christmas every1 just came on quick to wish everyone a nice eve with their family and friends :)
