I disagree. I did almost 1,000 hours of PVP from 70-99 defence, playing dozens of hours at each level, and I noticed a huge difference. DD++ specs will tear through a 105 combat\80 defence player in rune, but I don't even bother using them on 99 defence\300+ slash; I hit more with the flail then constant specs. I'm inclined to value 1,000 hours of PvP over a few isolated tests. I might have to try pking sometime... Do so, or just believe compfreak. When he speaks he does so when he has the data to back it up. EDIT: though i'm not sure how a tank ranger has +300 slash... maybe around 250...

Well, magic is seen as useless because people fail to use other excellent attack spells other than Ice. Shadow blitz is amazing. Period. Who needs defense with that? Well, range will cause problems but a smart mage either decides to gtfo or farcast.
