  1. You, sir, are a noob of the utmost degree. My evidence is as follows: 2% crit bonus equates to ~1% DPS increase. While that is a difference, it isn't "ridiculous". I assume you're only blowing that out of proportion, as you tend to do, seeing as you think killing 300-500 Glacors without a boots drop is "nerfed to hell and beyond". When you claim it's best to kill the sapping last, because you "don't really use prayer there" it furthers my suspicion that you are a noob as only a noob could ignore the massive DPS boost prayer gives them, while, in the same post lauding a 1% boost as "ridiculous". Studies show Ahrim's wand does not degrade. Perhaps I sense a bit of buyers remorse over a foolish purchase of an overpriced wand? A likely motive for such a destructively noobish post. Furthermore, YOU SPELLED "PRACTICALLY" WRONG. The prosecution rests.
  2. The way magic auto attacks work is a bit different than ranged and melee. They seem to sneak their way in between abilities. I think that would make 2h staff better DPS than wand/shield even without taking into account the accuracy. But I suppose magic is still the most likely candidate to use a shield setup on, because it's still much closer DPS to 2h than it is with ranged or melee.
  3. I'm just excited for the 30 minute overloads that are to come with the next GM quest. :). Huh? Watchu talkin bout?
  4. Wearing the wrong armor does hurt your accuracy quite a bit. It depends on the style. I believe melee attack is reduced more by ranged armor than magic armor, magic is reduced more by melee than ranged, and ranged is reduced more by magic than melee. I could be wrong, though. My brain stopped working an hour ago.
  5. Remember, if you have the money lying around, you might as well grab Bandos armor. Assuming the price doesn't drop (so now might not be a good time; wait for things to stabilize) you aren't really losing any money like you are with Barrows. You can re-sell Bandos to get ~100% of your money back, but repair costs for Barrows is gone for good. And who knows, Jagex might decide to put Bandos, as well as the other Godwars armor, back up to level 75, as it was in the beta for some time. It's really up to you in the end. The repair costs for Barrows is still very low. I believe it only got multiplied by 3, and nil tripled is still roughly zilch. I'd probably still be using Barrows religiously if I wasn't given a free set of Bandos, and I intend on keeping it for "sentimental value" alone. But I digress. It's not a matter of Verac's vs. Bandos. Simple solution: you should be using Dharok's set if you're ever meleeing in a rather safe environment (so you can stay at low health and not get murdered) such as slayer or some bosses. The damage boost is ridiculous, and works on abilities. IN BEFORE NERFFF!!!
  6. I know for a fact Dharok's set effect works on abilities. By the way, use Dharok's. It's really really good. I believe godswords' passives work on abilities. I haven't been able to see for myself, as my Bandos godsword's supposed defence drain is hidden by my level 95 curses' defence drain effects because they both have the same icon on the combat interface. Guthan's effect didn't work on abilities when I tested it in beta, but seeing as that was also the case with Dharok's... I could test this myself. EEE's effect is a total mystery to me. I haven't been dual wielding much because I just hate it for some reason. I don't know why it's just so god awful compared to 2h.
  7. DHAROK'S SET... Dear GOD. You guys HAVE TO TRY THIS SHIT OUT FOR YOURSELF. That's only a SAMPLE of its POWER. I once killed FIVE HELLHOUNDS IN ONE SINGLE ATTACK! I would've screenshotted.
  8. Thanks. And HEY, I was fishing and preparing for the awe that is 99 dungeoneering! Of course it was slower than average. Garst on 99 dungeoneering as well as taking all of Draggle's money in hide and seek.
  9. I don't usually try to belittle my pals with oneupmanship, but when I do, I prefer 7UP!!! OHHH!!! SODA PUNS!!! DOS EQUIS REFERENCES!!! 99 DUNGEONEERING!!! First was 99 magic, the 99 attack, then 99 strength, then 99 constitution, then 99 defence, now 99 dungeoneering! Yeah, that's right, I only have practical 99's. I guess I'll work on 120 dungeoneering next. P.S. Grats on 92 dungeoneering and 2000 total level, Tranq. Good luck on 80+ all skills. P.P.S. Too bad you can't get it without getting your defence up! OHHH!!!
  10. This only happens if you have the item dropped in the grave, right? I suppose you should always keep ganodermic as part of the three (preferably four) items kept on death to make sure you don't lose the charges. Better yet, don't die with them. Look at that defence, I mean how could you die unless you got careless?
  11. Thank God Jagex doesn't balance their xp rates based on the assumption that everyone plays at DGS speed.
  12. You say you "got lucky and had a few guardian doors". Do you think you can "get lucky" six times per hour, every hour, until you get max dungeoneering? I doubt it. That's why he averages 4 floors per hour, because for every lucky floor you have, you might get an unlucky one. Seeing as the JMod who got that "4 floors an hour" figure's job is to test and re-test this game to get a good idea of the average XP rate, I don't think we're going to have them call takebacksies and nerf it in a week.
  13. When I went on the beta earlier today, I tried killing some blue dragons with melee (sword and shield) and did awfully. I got frustrated and realized that blue dragons were weak to range, thus resistant to melee. I went to try killing some hellhounds, which are weak to magic, thus neutral to melee. I found myself performing a lot better even though the hellhounds were about 20 levels higher than the blue dragons. The combat triangle is a LOT more pronounced in the Evolution of Combat, and I really love it. Melee currently dominates almost everything in the game. Now that range and magic are worth using, I feel like my options have tripled! Add on top of that the newly balanced damage types (crush, arrows, fire etc.) and the new wielding styles (shield, twohand, dual wield) and you get so many more ways to play. I can't wait to actually have a good reason to train my ranged level, as well as make use of my under-appreciated 99 magic!
  14. I really don't get how criticals etc. work. For some reason, when I was testing dharok set, I was hitting exactly 1400 crits quite a few times. Then I also hit exactly 3500 with auto attacks many times, so I don't think it's just criticals that are acting fishy. I REALLY hope Jagex gives us more info on how this crap works. I'd especially like to see how they class the different wielding styles, and what they're supposed to be used for. Is dual wielding for maximum DPS? Is twohanded for high accuracy? Or AoE? Shields for low DPS but high survivability? Is there really any difference between dual wield magic and staff magic if they both have the same abilities? Is damage capped at 6500 on everything? Why can't I hold all these limes? How many licks does it take to get to [REDACTED]?
  15. RIP in Peace, RU Insane. Good luck with your real life adventures.
  16. So barrows is going to cost more to repair? [bleep]. Repair costs as a whole are pretty pointless, if you ask me. Maybe if they required special resources to repair (mining and smithing update please) it would be an interesting mechanic, but if it's just taking pure cash, it's pretty lame.
  17. Dragon armor is awful and will always be awful. It's only getting by on its looks, not substance. Even if they removed its stats entirely, it would mostly be unchanged. Unless people are actually using dragon armor for its stats in 2012. I seriously hope you guys don't do this. As for the topic of the EoC being released "early": whatever. It's a huge improvement over the current combat system (or as I like to call it: The Combutt Snorestem). Even if it's released with a few kinks, they're sure to be ironed out sooner or later. With the entire Runescape population actively testing and giving feedback (at about 300 decibels above legal levels) I'm sure it will be the former rather than the latter. When you force these changes upon players, you're much more likely to get feedback than if you beg them to do the tests on their own.
  18. But getting turmoil/anguish/torment is still worth it, as they're the best damage boosting curses you can use in tandem with soul split... r-right? Or am I just trying to justify my recent "purchase" of 95 prayer (with dragon bones at 2.7k ea)? Dammit I hate when updates directly impact my bank balance.
  19. Ask him to stop getting some challenges, and a user interface should pop up not unlike that of an xp lamp (with all the skills in circles and whatnot). Click whatever you want to disable, and confirm. If the NPC continues to speak "gibberish", consider changing the language options.
  20. Well, I'm back. I decided to blow lods e mone on overloads, brews and whatnot, and I'm mostly ready to go. But the problem is, I'm kinda afraid to do this on my own!! Like suggested earlier, I would really like to duo this with someone. Here's what my setup is looking like at this point: +30 brews in yak I guess If you're interested in helping me out, add me in-game and send me a holler. Be sure to fill me in on all the intricacies of Kril Killin', or Godwars in general, as I've never really killed any of those bosses before. P.S. Seeing as with the recent graphics update Kril now spreads his melee damage between everyone in front of him, would it be best if we both "tanked"? The spread out hits would help keep us from getting KO'd as easily, if my complex calculations hold any truth. P.P.S. Beggar getting told off in the background of my screenshot.
  21. Barrows is the same as Godwars armor? I thought that GW armor was going to require 75 defence thus having slightly higher stats? Or did they change that?
  22. Karil's is quite hugely superior in magic defence. Also, once the EoC comes out, it's going to be far better than royal dhide in everything.
  23. What if I didn't use overloads?
