  1. You need 70 constitution, strength, agility and ranged to even get the key.
  2. When you say 2:1 brews:rests, I assume you mean for use with overloads? Should I bring a yak with 2:1, or do you mean only ~6 slots of super restores and the rest rocktails or something? Once my yak is out of items, should I summon an iron titan or unicorn? And how worth it is poison purge? I believe it only lasts for 20 minutes or so, would you think penance would be a good alternative? By "PvM in general" I mean the summation of all PvM, the majority being slayer. I don't think the extra bit of damage against bosses is worth the 12m, especially because I'm pretty strapped for cash at the moment... always. BONUS QUESTION: How crowded is Zammy now? Did the GWD update make him as crowded as Graardor was? How many crashers will I have to deal with?
  3. Alo everybuddy. I've recently obtained 95 prayer, and I was planning on actually DOING something with it. I was thinking something at Godwars, because now that I have turmoil, I can actually compete if need be. Bandos sounded good, but I've been hearing terrible things about how utterly impossible it is to find an empty world. My next choice would definitely be Kril'Tsutsoroth: Zamorak's General. However, I haven't been able to find any really up-to-date guides, and I always preferred getting the specifics from you lovely folks at H&A. So let's get right down to it, shall we? First are my stats (for those of you too lazy to click my name to the left and look at the hiscores)... -99 attack -99 strength -99 defence -99 constitution -96 summoning -95 prayer -89 ranged -99 magic -92 herblore (I could stew for ovls, but I have yet to do so) ...and some of the important items I have available include... -about 10m cash to blow on supplies when needed (donate plsss) -chaotic rapier -elite void -every flavor of Barrows gear -chaotic crossbow -over 200k DG tokens to spend -I DO NOT HAVE THE FOLLOWING: Bandos armor, dragon claws (sold these spiky mittens back because I realized they really aren't that incredible for PvM in general), sigil shields of any kind, chaotic longsword (don't even try to convince me), Armadyl armor, any sort of Nex gear, purple party hat, and pretty much 98.333334% of the items in all of Runescape Lastly, I need to know literally everything there is to know about Zamorak Godwars. I emphasize this not because I crave knowledge (which I totally do), but because I have absolutely none on the matter. Treat me like an idiot. I love that. MMMYEAHHH...
  4. K quitting rs now. [bleep] sparkly vampires. I'm joining your rage-quit, only if the "sparkly vampires" are named after the Twilight characters... :wall: Oh it gets worse, they're going to name them as puns of the Twilight characters. So instead of fighting Count Draynor, you will kill... DEADWARD CULLING! (dun dun dunnnnn) in order to save that girl whose name I can't remember but won't Google to find out. No matter how much you hate it, future civilizations will credit the creation of vampires to Stephenie Meyer. It's inevitable. P.S. Dammit I needed to Google "Twilight" to remember the name of that author. I am forever tainted as a statistic: one of the quadrillions to Google that trash.
  5. DO NOT WORRY, MY MINIONS! Our Master Plan has only begun its revolution. Codename BO-[bleep]-CH will be unleashed in PHASES. These PHASES are to keep the PUNY BOTS guessing at every turn. Just when they think they've managed to find a hole in the system, another PHASE shall take motion, knocking them back to SQUARE EIGHT (they've already gotten pretty far over the past few years, square eight is the best we can do at this point - square one is out of the question). The five PHASES are as follows... PHASE ONE: Release Botany Bay. Adbots shall tremble as their brethren are plucked from the GE by the CLAW OF JUSTICE. Public humiliation shall shame them and make an example for all who wish to follow the path of the FEEBLE BOT. Look at all the FLASHY ANIMATIONS. Most of our resource pool will go towards making Botany Bay THE MOST EXCITING PUBLIC EVENT IN ALL OF RUNESCAPE! PHASE TWO: Release a public statement threatening the PATHETIC BOTS. Crush their SPIRITS (if bots have spirits - personal note: find out if bots have spirits, or what they have in place of them) to prevent any RETALIATIONNE. Also, add a few update teasers in the newspost to keep everyone's attention. Make it say Mark Gerhard wrote it, yeah yeah, put his name at the bottom. Everyone loves him. PHASE THREE: Umm, something about the HEAT MAPS. We'll make those better, I guess. PHASE FOUR: We haven't really thought this far ahead. WE'RE WORKING ON IT. PHASE FIVE: CELEBRATE THE DOWNFALL OF BOTS. SERIOUSLY, F**K THOSE GUYS.
  6. Why is this concept so hard to grasp for some people? If NPC died, NPC gets festival. If NPC not dead, no festival.
  7. I see them hanging a fire cape on the tombstone... Don't tell me we need to get ANOTHER fire cape to throw away. TzTok-Rex, Kiln admission, one to keep, one for your cape rack, if you're so inclined, and now this? Who could it possibly be for, anyway? Jad? It's kinda douchey to kill someone (some"thing") and then summon them from the afterlife to say sorry (actually just for the prayer xp and silly masks).
  8. I'm guessing you have to kill the shit beetles to get that stuff. I really don't get why [hide=Spoilers]Lady Keli turned out to be Amascut. What about all the other Devourer related quests? Are they going to be retconned to fit in with Diamond in the Rough? Perhaps they already have, but alas, I cannot replay old quests. I hope the next in the series will let us finally see Menaphos. [bleep]ing cliffhangers.[/hide]
  9. I don't think that's a real space between the 4 and 8. Sometimes the right-click menu gets off kilter for some people. But if it really was a space, I don't understand what adding a random space in the bot's name would really accomplish. Maybe they add random spaces in the names so it doesn't exactly match the username, to prevent some kinds of glitches?
  10. Not very much new info about Al-Kharid, but interesting nonetheless. Not sure what they mean by the "first signature hero quest". We've already had Xenia in Blood Pact and Raptor in Wending Through the Willows (or whatever the hell the name was) as well as a few other less significant cameos. The mention of the "new prayer training" towards the end got me excited. Hopefully this offsets the rise in price of dragon bones due to the bot nuke. Assuming bots aren't back within a week or two.
  11. That would be an excellent way to devalue skill level even more than it already is. The real fix is to make your skill level play much more of a role in your DPS...at least on par with weapon damage. except you need levels to use weapons? Personally I don't think that a 29 point difference in max hit between someone using a whip with level 70 atk/str and someone using a whip with lvl 99 atk/str is acceptable. Especially when the max hits are now in the thousands. The thing is, the person with 99 attack has access to chaotics, which are MUCH more powerful than a whip. However, once you hit the highest item tier and you have all the abilities unlocked, there isn't very much reason to keep training. I think Jagex is planning on releasing new items (and maybe abilities) all the way up to 99. Probably through Player Owned Ports.
  12. Auto attacks never cease to confuse me. In the most recent version, melee auto attack "cooldown" seems to be interrupted every time you use an ability. So you can't time your abilities so you get auto attacks in between. However, it seems like magic still now has that capability, where in the previous version it didn't.
  13. Having low lp doesn't limit your healing potential. That said I don't think you need more than freedom as a pure. But lower health means you're much more susceptible to getting KOed. It's not uncommon to hit multiple 1000+ hits in rapid succession. 1 defence vs 70 defence is about ~4k lifepoints difference. That's pretty huge.
  14. No it wasn't, armour gave a very big boost in damage. Excluding void, which I should have mentioned and defenders, there is very little in terms of armour that boosts your damage. Also, I'm ignoring amulets since I was talking about the offensive capabilities of a 1 def account vs a 99 def account. Other then void and defenders, all armour (with defense requirements) that give offensive boosts come almost exclusively from the godwars dungeon. Helm of Neitiznot +3 str Bandos chestplate +4 str Bandos tassets +2 str Dragon boots +4 str Dragon defender +6 str Barrows gloves +12 str That's a pretty significant boost to damage. Don't forget that accuracy is incredibly important. Mages and rangers are especially disadvantaged at a low defence level, as much of their attack bonuses come from armor. In the case of pure vs. pure, accuracy is much less important because they both have non-existent defences. But the whole idea of pures is to beat non-specialized "main accounts", making magic/range much less useful against them. I think the whole idea of pures is dumb. A balanced fighter should be able to outlast them in the long term, but it seems most PKing has degraded to "jump into Edgeville, try to kill someone within two attacks, run away to safety if food is depleted". Edgeville pking also reduces the usefulness of mages, as a good mage is supposed to trap the opponent, and wear them down with powerful, consistent spell damage. But when safety is two steps away in the low wilderness, the entire idea of PKing revolves around killing someone instantly with a lucky special. Long story short: I'm glad they're fixing this shitty combat system we have currently.
  15. No, if you destroy it you can get it back from Diango. I'm not sure if it's under holiday items, or if you have to ask if he "has anything else for me", however. But I do know you can't store them in your house. You have to see Diango.
  16. If you've ever played a rouguelike, you'd realize how exciting things can get when permadeath is looming. 10x experience rate would make this awesome. Now all that useless smithing/fletching/crafting crap will actually play an integral role in the PD server metagame, seeing as most people won't survive long enough to find/sell/trade the high end gear (abyssal whip/barrows/godwars etc.) It'd be like a DIYer's dream.
  17. If you must use ranged for slayer, chaotic crossbow isn't exactly the best. Against high defence, it probably is, but against lower defences, I hear Karil's crossbow is the best DPS. Rune throwing knives are the best in Kuradal's dungeon against the low defence monsters.
  18. Nobody else excited about the hair? Also, I really really hope we get to choose from different face types.
  19. Also, if you plan on meleeing with soulsplit, turmoil is much better than leeches. Soulsplit may be somewhat nerfed in EoC, but with all the extra damage you'll be taking, and with brews/EE/unicorns nerfed, soulsplit might be more important than ever. Also, anguish and torment are neat-o.
  20. Agreed. This would be an awesome idea if there was much faster xp gain. In War of Legends (Chinese developed, Jagex published browser game) there's such a thing as "speed servers" where you gain experience, build structure, train troops etc. at 10x the normal rate. I think 10x would be pretty fair to have on a perma-death Runescape server. Perhaps there shouldn't be world-wide PvP, however. At least have a number of safe training spots where new characters can train in peace without getting ganked. If the permadeath servers were 100% PvP, I'd imagine they would degrade to a mass of level 3's killing each other just outside of Lumbridge. P.S. There should be a list of achievements that persist even after permadeath. Perhaps there could be a book that tells you all the quests you've completed, the highest you got your skills, what the best items you ever had were etc. That way you have something big to strive for that can never be taken away from you. Perhaps skillcapes themselves would carry over between lives. Imagine seeing someone with a quest cape on a permadeath server.
  21. Myth confirmed. Vampyres are good at fishing competitions.
  22. Seeing as bots get "three warnings" I doubt we'll see any bot execution on release day. If, however, we do, then I suppose that means the whole thing is a sham, because there's no way they can go through three warnings on the first day.
  23. Hell no, it isn't paying gp. It's like saying every minute you aren't soloing Zilyana is costing you money. I understand opportunity cost, but this is a bit too far. Practicing on Beta doesn't seem like a bad idea. The fact that you can die without repercussions definitely could help you learn. That's why Nomad is such a daunting boss; he has an incredibly precise attack pattern that can kill you with one error, and you don't get any chances to really practice against him in a non-murderous environment.
  24. ACCEPTING BONATIONS TO CHEEFOO'S 95 PRAYER FUND. BONATE TODAY, WE'RE ONLY 9K DRAGON BONES AWAY FROM OUR GOAL. We can do it! You just have to belieeeve!
  25. No, rapier and longsword have the same exact damage in Beta. The only difference is stab vs. slash. Please, don't give silly advice... The rapier is definitely better to get now, as EoC could take a few more months to come out. What about an abyssal vine whip? In the beta, I believe it's about ~50 damage more than a normal whip, so it's inbetween whip and chaotic. I don't believe there's any stab weapon with such high stats, save. So rapier would probably still be a better choice in EoC at first.
