Partyhats. Really Discontinued?
They are discontinued. Even though there COULD be more partyhats by cracking crackers, there will never be more than a certain amount. By comparing this to any other item, we can see that any normal item has a constant flow into the game, and therefore is limitless as to how many, say, rune plates are/will ever be in the game. Think of it this way, when mountain dew distontinued their selling of Live Wire, some stores still had stock. They didn't have to take their stock off the shelves and throw it away. If you look at consumers as the "players" in Runescape, you would still say Live Wire was discontinued, even though theoretically you can go buy one in a store. This sounds really confusing, I hope somebody can understand it...

Whats happened to tip it?
What does this have to do with Runescape? This should be moved. Seriously. It's called spam. Spammy topics flood the front page, so we have to enforce people posting in stickies, threads that already exist, and the CORRECT FORUM most importantly.

LootShare 16 October 2007
This is so true. The "clan chat" is nothing more than an extra chat channel. Might as well use IRC  All of these group involved updates should have been combined into one update. Jagex is trying to give us all of the superficial elements of group play without actually letting us join a party system. Just don't think it is gonna work...

Can we still salvage magic?
Magic is fine. The point of magic obviously isn't DPS, its ranged damage and binding effects. Sure, the skill of Ranged also has ranged damage, with higher DPS, but first of all, it can't freeze, and second of all, the highest DPS class (melee) has high range defense which counteracts the high theoretical DPS since it wont be as accurate. Melee armor obviously has low, or even negative, magic defense, making magic a lot better than the "max hit" values turn out to be. Melee should always have the highest DPS. Giving magic the ability to 2 hit would be awful and completely idiotic. 30 is plenty high. Also, DPS=damage per second incase someone doesn't know.

Honestly, this game needs a different dungeon style in order to make this work correctly. The way the game is set up, most or all of the noticeable profit in monster killing comes from RARE drops, meaning that for a group of three people going to DKs, theres a very good chance that someone will leave with nothing if you just go by group loot. We need a dungeon where the monsters take more than 2 people to kill, and they drop something 50k in value EVERY time. These numbers aren't concrete figures of what I think they should be...but its just an example.

LootShare 16 October 2007
I really cannot see the loot sharing being useful. The only thing that it is good for is making sure that some idiot doesn't come along and try to jack your kill. Other than that, sharing loot just does not work with Runescape's drops. Loot share on KQ? Whats that gonna look like? I get 100 natures, you get a few zammy wines, you get a power ammy, I get a rune 2hander, you get a DRAGON CHAIN. People will end up just splitting the drops anyway... It is sad that the only reason the update is good is for a reason that wasn't intended... And the one minute thing is just...strange. Makes the penalty for dying a lot higher in some situations, and a lot lower in others. I always felt that Runescape's death system was a bit harsh, so I guess this is both good and bad.

Godsword Price Drop?
For someone who doesn't plan on pking with it, but instead just training with it, the cheapest sword is the best to buy. The special doesn't matter, because DDS special can STILL out-damage the godsword. 4 perfect DDS specs will out-do 2 perfect AGS specs by a long shot. Sure, the chances of it happening are less, but for someone who doesn't intend on PKing with it, the difference really is negligible.

It's their opinion, stop telling them what to say? Maybe he shouldn't post here if he didn't want to hear what people think of him.

omg.....soooo.....tired
This thread makes me feel bad about myself. 4 hours would be a day when I don't get to play very much.... 20 hours would probably be my max, with 10 being an average. Note that this includes ALL gaming, not just runescape.

which is the best spellbook?
Lunars is the best...hands down. If you need to alch, tele to moonclan with all your alching supplies, change to modern, alch at the altar, change back to lunars when finished. I also have 96 magic and thousands of teleport tabs in my bank...so my vote might be biased.

Tip.it Times Presents: Co-op or Competitive?
really? that sounds like us humans when killing someone ingame. we find our target, then shoot like crazy... or is that just me... No...I'm saying that the SECOND your head appears on screen, the bot will headshot it. Every time. No exceptions. The bots can also instantly calculate your trajectory through the air so that mid air rocket shots are nearly guaranteed. The main thing is the sniper rifle/shock rifle though. Instant hit as soon as it can see you. Humans miss, perfect AI doesn't.

Smallest walled in area in RS?
Crowded as in: many many people in a tiny tiny area. *think dance/follow party*

Smallest walled in area in RS?
Just curious. Lets say I need to host a very crowded party :P

Smallest walled in area in RS?
Hi gang, I am looking for a tiny house, or something of the sorts. Anything less than 4 by 4 blocks would be ideal. Think of rooms, houses, floors, basements, etc...something that has a DOOR on it or only a ladder/stairs leading to it. Thanks

Tip.it Times Presents: Co-op or Competitive?
I would have to say that this article would be better if it just talked about PvP or PvE (player vs player or player vs environment) because while clans in the wilderness ARE killing other players, they are still engaging in in cooperative play. Same goes for team vs team in halo, gears, etc. I also think it flawed to say that another player is smarter and quicker than any AI. If any of you have played Unreal Tournament, it is possible to adjust the computer AI above even the most difficult pre-made difficulty level. At this level, bots will instantly kill you the second it is POSSIBLE.

Sorry but this thread is awful and I don't get any of whats supposed to be funny...all I see is tons of hard to read grammar. Is that why it's funny? Because someone is talking like an idiot? Maybe I don't get it, but I just think this is spam...if these are "jokes" I feel like it belongs in off-topic. Or maybe in rants...I guess...I honestly can't even tell what this is supposed to be. Plus I also think the title of the thread is an "attention getter" and has nothing to do with the "topic" (if you want to call it that). Last time I checked I thought those kinds of titles were against the rules. I still don't get any of it though... :-k

New Shops Smash Seller's Market
Player sold arrows were overpriced to begin with. Theres no reason someone should spend so much on ranged. I'm glad arrows are easier to get now, same with elemental runes.

High Alchemy misconception
This is all relevant. Is RCing your fastest money maker? If so, then you really aren't "saving" any gold by making your own natures to alch with. For instance, if you craft 2k nats and then sell them, you'll end up with X gp (I say X since the price varies, especially since the update). This is your income, it was money that was made using your most profitable skill. Now, you can also take that X gp and re-buy all 2k natures. This doesn't really make any sense, but it can be done. Now, would you call this the equivalent of "buying" the runes or "making" the runes. Of course, it is exactly the same no matter how you look at it. This is how you should view the GP in your bank. All of it should be in increments of how much you can make per hour making your fastest cash. For example, if I make 400k per hour, and I have 40m in the bank, thats 100 hours worth of work that I have stored up. If I decide to go mining, it might only gather me 60k worth of ores per hour. You might be tempted to call this a 60k profit, but it should be called a 340k loss. In this same hour, I could have made 400k with whatever method it is and then BOUGHT the 60k worth of ores, leaving me with 340k more than I would have had if I had just mined the ores myself. This should also be applied to the process of cutting yews, making bows, and crafting natures. If your max gp per hour exceeds the money you would be "making" by cutting yew logs for an hour, then you really aren't making any money. So, as strange as it may sound, losing 100-200 gp per alch will actually be SAVING you money, compared to a slower way of training magic. Some stakers make millions per hour, so each fewer hour they have to spend alching lets them spend that much more time making millions.

The Magic Revolution
That's what I said. 83 xp per cast. Using the spell on full inventories would only make sense if you got 83 xp per amulet. Maybe you don't get it, you click the spell once, then it casts it automatically for each amulet you are holding. So thats 2158 xp for doing only one click. Yikes. Also, I have been doing this method myself, so I know that's how it works. Thanks. But it still costs 2 astral runes per ammy right? :-k Yes...but it's still insanely fast. Whats so bad about 2 astrals per cast? 2 astrals is about the same cost as one law rune...depending on who you get them from.
