  1. People talk about this game like its a job. If you play for fun you'll never have this problem.
  2. I highlighted the best parts. Go to the sticky of the rsof for more of these goodies  . If all of his friends type in the same manner that he does, then I say well done Jagex. I personally think that Jagex won't mind losing some of their scum members as long as it results in a general improvement of the game. Look at their stance on macroers; we know they lose money when they ban macroers but they do it anyway for the benefit of the game. The same thing goes for PC. Not only was PC causing so many high levels that it wasn't even an accomplishment anymore, but PC attracted a breed of RS gamer that is detrimental to the community: people who hated the game, but still wanted to have their character be be high level for some reason. Honestly, if you don't like the game then don't play it...you should enjoy training your skills up, not just get a hard-on thinking about how quickly you are increasing your level in an online game. Also, if anyone else says "Wow no one is going to be high level!" then allow me to point at the Slayer highscores. There are plenty of people in this game who train their melees with Slayer. If all of the PC pures quit, I really could not care less. One more thing, to the level 93 guy...I don't feel like looking for your name but you, sir, are a complete idiot. You say all of these things about the game being ruined blah blah blah and then I find out you aren't even above level 100. My friend started the game two months ago, didn't PC at all, and he is already level 102. If you haven't even been playing long enough to be level 100, then you simply have no idea what this game used to be like and how different the community was when there was no PC. Why exactly should Jagex focus their updates to the people who have been playing for only a month or two? Seems to me like they finally want to make their long term customers happy. EDIT for the smartest statement I have ever read:
  3. You won't necessarily find your monitor's resolution in desktop properties. In certain situations, sometimes your monitior can support a higher resolution than your video card can, and thus the resolution of your monitor won't appear on the desktop properties. Other situations, such as multiple monitor support, can also cause HIGHER resolutions to be shown than what your monitor actually is. As far as memory and processor is concerned: right click "My Computer" and choose "Properties", you can find both there. Aspect ratio...not sure what to say about this. If you have two eyes you can tell if your monitor is widescreen or normal screen. Same goes for internet connection. Also, does anyone else find the memory and processor speed to be really disproportional? Only 22% of RS has 2+ GHz, but 37% has over 1 GB of RAM? I have 3.2 Ghz with hyperthreading and all I have is 1 GB of RAM. Building a new computer right now and it is having a 2.2 Core2-duo with JUST 2 GB of RAM...I find it hard to believe that so many people have more than 2 gigs of RAM with so few people having such slow processors. I'm pretty sure tons of people confused hard disk space with memory.
  4. This is just stupid. Spinning at lumbridge is even faster than this.
  5. If Jagex keeps updating like this, I might actually start enjoying this game a lot more. So far, I am happy with this month. In fact, the remaining update(s) could be junk and I would still be satisfied with the month as a whole. Well done Jagex. =D> In other news, I'm not sure how to feel about stringing...I mean, yeah it IS convenient I guess...but the speed of it is unbearably slow.
  6. If you can't tell the difference between big bones and dragon bones...well...
  7. No. I've never had a whip while on a task.
  8. Yes, yes it is. Hence the name of the style: melee. Meaning, up close. Meleers specialize in...well, melee attacks and therefore should win vs mages when fighting up close. Mages have freezes and snares for a reason, so they can win VS melee, and actually STOP melee from even fighting back. No other part of the triangle can PREVENT the enemy from attacking at all. Meleers win vs rangers...but they still have to get hit by arrows at all times. Rangers win vs mages, but they still have to take the hit from the magic, even if they do have good defenses against it.
  9. It probably has something to do with the number of 90 slayers. More people are waking up and getting the really common bow.
  10. OH YES! whats a very good idea, would good for castlewars. I would use it for castlewars for sure  Unless the spec really owns, I think I'll stick with the good ole annoying seercull.
  11. Thats funny. Most times mods say "ALL QUESTIONS go to help and advice."
  12. Many player mods I have come across have been either stupid, incompetant, rude, or all three. Thus, I really don't give them the time of day.
  13. People really pay attention to story lines? I just do quests as fast as possible so I can get them over with and move on to better things.
  14. lmao...this would be hilarious.
  15. This new bow really isn't going to cost that much, from my predictions. If they would have released it as a surprise, the bow would be worth tons. But now, with the thousands of people that already 90+ slayer, atleast a thousand more people will probably get 90 this month. Then, on the update day, everyone will rush to the dark beasts. It will be crowded and the first day prices will probably not be that high, unless the bow turns out to be amazing. After the hype dies down, the price will probably settle somewhere in the 3m range for awhile. The only reason whips ever started off so high was because so few people had the level in the beginning. Now, tons of people have the time to get their level up. Prices won't be as high as most of you are expecting, unless this bow is reeeeally awesome.
  16. Idiots. Lets make a larger quote pyramid next time.
  17. Nobody believes me. Rares were duped, world 60 is still gone. I'm not making a theory here...I know what I am talking about.
  18. The reason the servers went down is because they were taken offline. On World 60, a bug was found that allowed players to duplicate items. Dozens of party hats and christmas crackers we duplicated. Jagex was immediately alerted of this problem and instantly took all worlds offline that any of the phat trades and duplicates went to. Notice that World 60 is the one world that remains offline. Some of you know this world for being the one that the Wilderness glitch happened on, where all areas that were north of the Wilderness line were considered to be in the Wilderness. Many others of you may know this world as the place where the Falador massacre occurred. The bottom line is that world 60 needs to be taken offline and destroyed, for it is pure evil.
  19. I beg to differ, Ice Barrage costs about 3-4k per cast so, if this bow has an awesome special, doing barrage + dark bow would be a great way to go. I can't see the arrows costing much more than 5k a piece.
  20. I stopped reading right there.
  21. So, thats Mod Constant. That explains a few things...
  22. I have to agree with you, this is how it works. But I would like to think again you pulled some numbers right out of air...but anyway, I have to agree. Even if he didn't, I surely hope he actually tested this with like 100 attacks, not 10...
  23. One word.... YES!!!!! However, I think it would be cooler if the Dark Bow was dropped unstrung, and thus required a high fletcher to put it together, thus making a good use for one of our high level trade skills. STILL very happy though. Getting 90 Slayer for sure. :D
  24. YES! This feature finally came. :D Everybody get out there and vote (errr...not OUT there I guess). This is definitely an important poll, so I hope that most people actually take the time to vote (we've already got 25k+ votes :) ). I personally voted for Falador. Falador hasn't seen an update in awhile, and there are a lot of features from that area that go unused. Giant mole, Mogres, just to name a few. The troll area one would also be a good choice but I definitely wouldn't vote for that; I'm pretty sure I don't want to spend any more frustrating time in the Goutweed room. Fremmy would be fun; there are a ton of high level areas up in that region and the hard tasks could prove to actually be hard. However, the Fremmy area has gotten its fair share of updates recently, and I think Falador would be the best choice if the point of these is to get people using old features. I'm crossing my fingers for either Falador or Fremnik area...think of the possible rewards for the hard Fremnik diary.
  25. So Jagex shouldn't make updates based on polls? Simply because the low voter turnout? In that case, hell, lets just ditch the polls. They are there for a reason: to determine the type of updates Jagex should be producing. Thats why Jagex created them, and thats why they are there, correct? If I am wrong, I apologize, but I'm nearly certain thats the reason Jagex polls us, or so they say. Okay...now that we have that established...lets take a look at the polls. Now there are two polls that show graphics are of low priority to the RS players (judged on the % of people in the poll, which, NEWSFLASH: THATS HOW POLLS WORK...if a majority of a population had to vote in a poll for it to be considered "official" then there would be no polls to EVER fit that criteria; even in the last US election, less than half of the elligible voters actually voted) But, continuing on...we can now see that two of the official RS polls had results that showed grafics are not the preferred type of update for a majority of players. What type of updates are popping up more and more frequently? Graphics. There's really nothing to disagree with here, and nothing that you should have trouble understanding. Poll gets taken, Jagex sees results, then Jagex produces updates that are opposite to the polls. End of story. Thats the problem, thats why I'm mad. In fact, thank you for that picture. That picture further proves my point and gives me more reason to be getting fed up with Jagex. What came today? A graphical update and some mini-game-quest thing. What is the 3 least favorite updates? Graphics, mini-games, and quests. We also missed an update last week. I used to be happy with just quantity as opposed to quality, and I really hope there is a good reason that the update was missed last week; I REALLY hope we didn't miss last week's update for this. Something else for you to think about: Sure, a very low population of people vote in these polls, but who do you think is voting? Probably the people who care the most about the game and the people who really take the time to try and get the game moving in a positive direction. I vote in every poll, and thats probably another reason that I am so disappointed in general about the direction this game has begun to head. Do you vote?
