Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
:wall: Seriously? Do you sound the way you do because you're straight? Or do you sound the way you do because that's what your voice sounds like and you were born like that and someone's voice doesn't have anything to do in the slightest with their sexual orientation? I wish people would think before they posted.

I think he was referring to the fact that Ayn Rand was, quite unquestionably, a female.

GLEE: Season 2
My Thoughts on Episode 3 [hide]FINALLY AN EPISODE WHERE STUFF ACTUALLY HAPPENED. My only complaint: They only BRIEFLY showed Sam in one football scene; otherwise, we didn't see ANYTHING of him, let alone hear him sing again. On top of this, there wasn't even mention of Sunshine. Why did they make a big hoopla about there being "THREE NEW CHARACTERS OMG OMG OMG" if they're only going to include Bieste regularily? Even if Sunshine left for Vocal Adrenaline, I still want to hear her sing. I really loved this episode. I was at first a little disappointed at Kurt for not agreeing to attend family night with his dad, Finn, and Finn's mom... it wasn't really enjoyable to see Kurt being so damn selfish. And then his dad went and had a heart attack! Ahhhhhh. :ohnoes: Now, I'm not really a religious person (at all, of any religion) nor do I believe in god, but this episode was really touching. It was a bit nice to see the Glee kids express their spirituality, since it's something they've never really mentioned in the show before (except for Quinn, Rachal and Puck [if only to try and get with Rachel...]) As for songs, I could have a. Done without Rachel singing "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" and b. CRIED LIKE A BABY when Kurt sang "I Want to Hold Your Hand." It was a little random to throw in a Beatles song, but his rendition was so amazing... I'm not even a fan of Kurt's voice, but this song was so touching and sad. TL;DR: Thanks, writers, for actually writing in some good content![/hide]

Vegetarianism
I know what Inuits are. I just didn't see what your point was. :P Also, as Masquerain brings up, there's a difference between hunting and livestock. The American meat industry isn't out there ruining the environment so that they can sustain the natural seal population in Alaska. They're tearing the earth up to raise huge quantities of livestock for our consumption. Even if the corporate meat industry ceased to exist, the Inuits would still (I imagine) carry on hunting seals and whales as if nothing had happened.

Vegetarianism
Lol, ok. Also, I honestly don't get the connection between Inuit people and a vegan diet. You'll have to fill me in here. Well, for me personally, I get enough vitamins and minerals. :) I've talked about this in several previous posts here, hehe. But that point aside, I don't see what the environmental issues have to do with taking supplements.
-
Vegetarianism
Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you're implying that we wouldn't use up as much land for farming, because a lot of our nutritional needs would be met by taking supplements and vitamins? Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm god-awful tired haha.

Vegetarianism
If we didn't have billions and billions and billions of livestock to feed, we would be growing an entirely different type of crop. On the same note, if we weren't using the land to continually grow cattlefeed/corn over and over and over again, the earth would be fertile enough to sustain a normal crop. These issues wouldn't be a problem if consumers were demanding a different source of food. Edit: But perhaps we'd eventually run into the same problems even if everyone removed meat from their diet... everyone would be dependent solely on plant foods, and we'd just end up ruining the land anyway...

What other fansites do you commonly use? And how can tip.it expand itself to compete?
I only use Tip.It. When I was part of the Tip.It Crew, I used to check fansites more often, but that was never for my personal use, only for fact-checking. I'm sure that the communities are great for other fansites, but really, I only trust information provided by Crewbies from Tip.It, as I know what work they put in to make sure that the information they are providing is as accurate as possible.

Vegetarianism
As I said a few posts back, I won't eat anything until I know what's in it. The only exception is, of course, unless it's something I've had before, and I know what it does or doesn't contain. But why? Why would you deliberately restrict yourself in that way? Even in so called Vegetarian products, there's sometimes traces of animal in it, disguised under chemical names I don't eat "so called" vegetarian food. I eat vegetarian food. And I know what ingredients come from animal products, even if they don't say "chicken [blank]" or anything like that on the label. It's not that hard to do research and find out where certain ingredients and chemicals come from.

GLEE: Season 2
Yeah... I mean, don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this episode, and there were quite a few incredibly funny moments (Sue talking about the "butt sweat stain," and Britney Spears being a "gateway drug") in the show... but really, all it did was give them an excuse to sing and dance, and show off Brittany's talents, who has up until now stood in the background. I really did like Britney Spears' (the real one!) cameo in the show. Her being in a Cheerio's costume was really random, haha, but I thought that it was well done. All of the horrible stuff she's gone through in the media, it was nice to finally see her portrayed in a normal, nice light on a TV show. One thing I did love, love, love about the episode is how closely and perfectly they matched her actual music videos! I was dying during the first number, where she's got the boa constrictor, and the red spandex suit that Britney wore in her "Oops!... I Did It Again" video! I was kind of bouncing in my seat like a little fanboy. -.- And I don't even LIKE Britney Spears' music that much.

Vegetarianism
I don't see why you would hate the girl for doing that. I do that all the time. At my work, a lot of my coworkers order in pizza sometimes, and they'll say to me, "We got pepperoni, but you can have some if you want," assuming that I would be fine with removing the meat or fat. I would never, ever pick off pepperoni from a pizza, mop up the juice, and then turn around and eat it. That's like asking a vegetarian to drink a cup of chicken broth, just because it technically doesn't have meat in it. And for what it's worth, while your friend EJ's reason is perfectly valid, I find that Random Girl's reasoning for being a vegetarian is far more honorable and respectable.

GLEE: Season 2
My Thoughts on Episode 2 [hide]I was somewhat... disappointed with this episode. It was really just them showing off the talent of the cast... nothing really furthered the plot lines much, we were briefly introduced to a new character (Emma's new boyfriend Carl, played by John Stamos). That being said, the musical numbers were amazing! They couldn't have picked a better person to showcase than Brittany's, especially since she's never really sang (except as backup) in the show before. She is an AMAZING dancer, a very good singer... and she really shone in this episode. The Kurt/Rachel stuff was kind of sweet, but not all that to swoon over. They kind of just reaffirmed their affection for each other. Nothing drastic. Most disappointing of all, we saw NOTHING of the new characters Sunshine or Sam. We saw Bieste only briefly, and she didn't interract with Sue or Will at all. Hopefully the third episode will be a bit meatier in content. Edit: Also! Just remembered something that really bothered me. A few of the lines were (what I thought to be) cheesy nods towards cheap internet video crazes. I.E., one of the Glee kids says something bad about Britney Spears, and she says "Leave Britney alone" to them, clearly a nod at the Chris Crocker video he released. Another one was, Rachel is undergoing some dental work, and as she's coming-to from the anesthesia, she says, "Is this real life?" just like that little kid Denny/Dennis, or whatever his name was... I thought them all to be a bit unnecessary, as they weren't really funny to me at all.[/hide] Yep, they recast the part. The new Vocal Adrenaline coach will be played by a male actor named Cheyenne Jackson. However! Idina Menzel will be guest-starring in the new season, she's just no longer the coach of V.A. :) So at least we'll get to see/hear her again. (Kristin Chenoweth will also reprise her role as April Rhodes!) What I've also just learned is that Sue Sylvester's mom is going to be played by Carol Burnett!!@@!!@! I'm so anxious to see her in this part. :3

Vegetarianism
Not in the slightest. I didn't stop eating meat because I didn't like the taste of it. Everyone I know loves to get a great burger-and-fry every once in a while, and it's no different for me. Of course, I can't go out and buy an actual burger because that would defeat the purpose. So instead, I have to go and buy a veggie-patty or soy burger.

The HIGH Road
I agree with almost all of what you've said. However, I wouldn't really consider Steve Jobs and Ted Turner to have a "basic job." Your original post is misleading in the sense that it makes it sound like everyone who smokes pot is going to be fine with working simple jobs like at a fast-food place, or at a clothing store. I honestly wasn't meaning to insinuate that everyone who smokes pot is a loser. While it is not for me, I am perfectly capable of understanding and accepting that everyone else can make their own choices, and I respect that. My older brother smokes sometimes, and I don't think any less of him for it, and I most certainty don't think he's a loser for it. I'm just saying... I don't see how "being content with a basic job" is a benefit to smoking weed. That's all. My fry-cook example wasn't meant to imply that if you smoke pot you automatically must have a run-of-the-mill job.
