  1. The best money/xp balance is probably fish one-drop one at barbarian, using a granite lobster or magpie and alching something profitable on the side.
  2. Well, there are a couple of things I'd note about the current game vs. the 'old' game, the most important being that you missed years of power creep. A high-level 'pro' player in 2006/2007 might've hit 30s, 40s even, but these days you can reasonably expect to hit over 60 when slaying and 50s anywhere else, also with magic and ranged. For your convenience these numbers are in pre-constitution numbers - hitpoints got renamed to constitution, which means you no longer lose levels when taking damage, but you instead lose lifepoints, which you can see in the red bulb in the interface. You get +10 max lifepoints for each constitution level you have, and all damage was multiplied by 10 as well (so when I say you can hit 60 in old money, that's really a 600). Prayer works the same way but is still called prayer. Currently, a lot of the best gear/potions etc. is (part) untradeable and requires hours of skilling/minigaming or quests to achieve. Small list of combat items: Chaotic weapons+arcane stream+other dg rewards, imbued rings, elite void, unlocked Storm of Armadyl, overloads, curses unlocked+turmoil, yak+steel titan, barrows gloves, fire cape+Ardougne cloak+Soul Wars cape, Korasi's sword, even small items like the helmet of Neitiznot require quests. When a new prayer book was released, dragon bones rose from under 2k to over 5k, at times even 6k, and that was of course great reliable income because you could easily bring in 100-200 bones per hour and make bank. With the return of free trade, goldfarmers can now easily buy/sell/transfer whatever they harvest, and dragon bones are down to about 2.5k. If a resource does not require quests, it is botted. If it requires a few quests it's botted a little less. In general, all low-medium level moneymakers are goldfarmed, which leaves only bosses as high-level incomes, but they require 300m+ investments in prayer and herblore to be killed efficiently. Farming torstol is one thing still decent, but even that is worse, and it requires fairly high stats (70+ hunter and herblore, 85+ farming, 10k dungeoneering tokens, magic secateurs). It will make you about 250-300k per five minute run. Compensating for the lower income, most skills are also cheaper to train. Adamant bars are dropped by aviansies (which are botted a lot) and down so far that smithing adamant platebodies costs 1.5-2 gp/xp (used to be as high as 10). Herblore was 20-30 gp/xp, is down to 10-20 gp/xp. Prayer of course is directly affected by the bone crash. Construction has been getting somewhat cheaper lately as well. Together with the introduction of new skilling areas etc., most skills are much faster to train than they were, either in time to get the xp or in time required to make money. Welcome back and good luck I guess :P.
  3. I'm so glad this forum doesn't grant post count, I'd have to sort through those 1k posts by Zaaps to find the sensible ones and remove them for off-topicness :wall:.
  4. Quyneax replied to Urza285's topic in Help and Advice
Gatherer's only increases number of fish, not xp :(. Much like farming juju.
  5. Terror dogs are decent if you need pts at 95+ summoning, otherwise looks good . You can consider gargoyles and abyssal demons as well.
  6. Well I have you both added, next time I feel like BA I'll ask you (and you can ask me of course). Got mining rocks, will get RC tomorrow (two sets & maybe level 88).
  7. Moved to Website Updates&Corrections, if it was indeed and update the crew will probably be able to tell you, and maybe add it to the relevant guide :).
  8. Well, I didn't do the math but it matters most for miths, irons and steels, so I'd say those three.
  9. 88 agility. Got most strange rocks done as well, getting SC tools for con and then it's mining and runecrafting left. :D.
  10. Don't forget you can use pies and stews to get elite diaries done 5 levels earlier. Good luck .
  11. Praying from ranged is completely unneccesary with soul split. You can even do ancient cavern fiends in Bandos (if slaying) or even Dharok's (not recommended).
  12. Try finding friends to dungeoneer with or join a clan around your level. That is, unfortunately, the best you can do for now.
  13. I'd save tokens until you need chaotics, get some ring tiers (tier 9 berserker is nice) and the scrolls if you intend to get a completionist cape ever. Rigour is also very good before turmoil.
  14. ^Completely agree, all I want is level 5 roles with a decent team (wave 6+) and it's impossible to find :S.
  15. Saradomin sword, turmoil, ss flash, elite void melee, fury, berserker ring (i), dragon boots, fire cape, korasi's sword for specials.
  16. You don't really need the weight reduction. As other people said, equip a sceptre of the gods if you own one, otherwise ee/eee. You can teleport from your inventory, but not spec from your inventory, so I prefer to wield eee and keep the regular sceptre in my inventory, but the sceptre of the gods only works when equipped. I find that eee + superantipoison keeps me healed full, and without antipoison I need about 4 doses of special recover per run to stay at high health (so 2x the spec, eee = bunyip for healing). Ideally you would loot the last two rooms, but at 91 you may not quite manage that. Half the last room works as well. A partner to duo with would increase xp/hr.
  17. Granite is the best until 80 for sure, and competes with congold right up to 99, if you believe Lover Romeo (claimed 80k/hr before urns (and is 200m mining)).
  18. You should be able to kill the melee brothers in 3.5 ice barrages each with an arcane stream necklace, chaotic staff and overloads. Since you lack all of these, it'd be more like 5-6 casts which is distinctly worse than meleeing, and the brother would become unfrozen halfway, so I'd say just surge and tank (with or without prayer). You should melee Karil, Ahrim and Akrisae regardless of what you use on the others. Use Korasi's sword specials and whip/rapier on Akrisae (must alternate between attack styles), pray turmoil when meleeing. You can heal with soul split on Karil (using Bandos), Ahrim (using void), Torag/Guthan/Verac (using void while maging with barrage or SoA, or using Bandos with anything) and Akrisae (using anything). I wouldn't no-pray Dharok but it is possible, just risky.
  19. Going to catch you ^^. Well, I got 314 MA rank now and level 3 heal+level 2 def/coll (lol).
  20. Doing BA today, got horn charge (a little) and now getting pts on w6. So many noobs :(.
  21. Can't seem to turn the guy in :(.
  22. Ikr, 311 rank now. Gained 3-4k hiscore ranks in MA, lol. Edit: free rank!?!
  23. You unlock the last formation or something.
  24. Yes, you need 401 rank for trimmed comp though.
