The Tip.It guide covers it all. I very much disagree with DarkDude in that melee (or Storm of Armadyl) is crucial for killing the glacytes. It shaves 10 seconds off a 90 second kill.

The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets): [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip) Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top) [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3 Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune) Steadfast/Dragon boots (rune boots) Amulet of fury (glory) Dragon defender (rune defender) Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring) [Most important] Full slayer helmet. [For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps) [Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear) [stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword) Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimes Cannon (optional, up to personal preference) Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +10 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +20 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, black dragon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning): 70 prayer and King's Ransom - piety 68 summoning - bunyip 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split 88 summoning - unicorn 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload 99 summoning - steel titan I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it. Lose the Guthan's, it's a great step towards faster slaying.

I forgot when, it was just before the prayer renewal potion was introduced. It doesn't change anything about prayer apart from that you gain every so slightly more points from a prayer potion. Ritual of the Mahjarrat is a good quest and has great rewards, that's the major update of the past months.

^Fishing is bad but I'm glad I found a way I can keep up fishing for 8 urns straight, two or three times a day :thumbup:. Granted it involved mild slacking but I get more xp for it. Got 97 herblore, making wines to 94 cooking now. Got 93 so far. Also did some fishing, 200k to 89. And pengs, 50k to 88 runecrafting. Need BA to get 88 agility and mining. 200k to 88 hunt too. For tomorrow, I'm hoping for either 88 hunter, 89 fishing or 88 agility. None of those will make me open any effigies, but they will at least be higher than RC again.

I don't think it does, just liike superheating doesn't provide rocks but smelting does.

Best methods assuming you value xp in those skills: Teaks (with adze) Magic logs > Jadinko Lair Magic longbows (cutting only) Cleaning w/e herbs you do on herb runs Dragonhide bodies Adamant platebodies or smelting gold Oak doors, mahogany tables ZMI Best fish you don't burn, with urns Best xp method (falconry over salamanders) Knights of Ardougne if looking for court cases as well, otherwise master farmers Herb runs (cleaning herbs for herb rocks) LRC Best xp course

For MTK, 9 maple 6 mining is best, not so much for the maple logs but for the nests and seeds. Farming is the best single money skill, other than farming you need a couple of high combats + quests done, for example for glacors you need 95 magic + 80 attack + 90+ strength + overloads + turmoil + steel titan + Ritual of the Mahjarrat done.

The average can be as low as 1/80k xp for a tailored task list, but seeing as wyverns are maybe 15k xp for a task, irons around 15k again, black dragons maybe 15k and black demons around 35k? that one drop sounds perfectly alright.

LRC is fishing/mining/combat, HH/Lair is herblore/farming/hunter/woodcutting/firemaking/fletching/combat, potions are all herblore, Livid Farm is magic/farming/tiny collateral xp, Artisan's is smithing, Lava Flow Mine is mining. Of all these updates, only LRC mining, HH hunter and extremes are used in efficient maxing out. LRC fishing, Lava Flow and HH firemaking are used as 'relaxed' methods. Livid is almost only done for the spells. Point being that it's quite likely that these updates lead to nothing anyway, since half the skills involved offer only sub-par methods.

Guthans defeats the purpose of using a high-damage weapon... it's incredibly slow and useless. I never liked ranging for the simple fact that you can't be on curses, and before that, it deals so little damage compared to equal melee levels.

92 cooking & a 69 herb run :). Getting 95 cooking so I can do rocktails for strange rocks. Also, barbarian fishing now gives rocks = win. 88 fishing. Opened 8 nourished fishing effigies, got 5 firemaking effigies, opened those, got one hunter one agility (the rest was mining and one each sated thieving and woodcutting). I'm 400k from 88 hunter which means gorged hunter effigies (got 3), I can do gorged agility (got 2) and I'm 3 thieving levels from gorged (got 9). The goal is to get enough effigy-opening stats to lamp to 99 slayer. The way my melee xp is looking now I may even gain 97 slayer by the time I max melees + ranged. I'm also considering getting 92 fishing for gorged effigies (got 7) + Fremminik Elite and using those lamps on slayer. I also have 4 gorged mining & 6 gorged runecrafting, and loads of pre-gorged mining + runecrafting + thieving. In short, about 21 gorged effigies I can see myself being able to open fairly soon (4 fishing + 3 thieving levels) and a bunch more I may not be able to open soon. But I'll get lots of nice new stages from 88 mining and runecrafting :D. O and, 455k fishing today. Personal record, but only #31 on Runetracker :(.

Dragonfire shield. And yes, on basically anything, the defender makes you kill them so much faster that you end up taking less damage in the end :). Protect prayers are still better, use your best boosting prayers as well.

I think iron is actually the best money and xp short of granite, which is a lot better xp but not as profitable. It's easy to train mining while banking iron ores with a kyatt or Arougne cloak and duelling rings/glories.

Test is kind of small, and I'm thinking it would be inferior to glacors unless you need melee xp badly.

Well, sighted magic longbow isn't going to do a whole lot of damage even with the best boost available :/. You can replace deflector with void top and use the sighted bow I suppose.

It's a good decision to start herblore quite early, but I'd put some effort into your lowest stats. 1500+ total looks so much nicer :). And don't forget that chaotic weapons are a massive upgrade to your slayer speed, especially the rapier.

I'm quite sure it's possible, multiple people have offered to do so (to the cc, not to me personally).

You can get someone with 99 runecrafting to assist you. At 99 rc, 100 shards will earn you 8000 runes or the staff, so find out the going rate for runes and staves and see which suits you.

86 days of pure Castle Wars... honestly I should get a job as a night guard somewhere and afk 20 games per shift :rolleyes:. OK fixed, was going to bake a rotten potatoe to get it :(. All those are good for is wiping your bank :P :( Got 93 woodcutting, one floor which had one-wayed books (which I solved kinda slowly :/), then merc (which I forgot to regate, second mistake), 27:something in the end. Needs more practice.

I think it's about time (once more) to drop the donations discussion. If you want to make a proper discussion thread, including an inspiring OP, well-reasoned and well-written posts on all sides, be my guest, but please keep it (mostly) out of this topic, as it at times threatens to outgrow the other lines of discussion. There are a lot of things touching on maxing total xp and it's fine to mention them once or twice but pages of reiterating opinions isn't going to make anyone any wiser.
