  4. Hello, I'm Mierin (previously Enaid Anwen). I want a trimmed completionist cape, and I'll be posting updates on that goal here. I've retired from RS now, this post is just here as a reminder. Current stats (Runetracker): Adventurer's log Max total goal: 91% - yeah right. But it sounds good :D. 92%! Still lots to go. yay 93% 94% - It's becoming harder to write meaningful 'yay!' messages. That's a good sign I suppose. 95% :). 96% is divisible (without fractions resulting) by 3 AND 4, the last number before 100 to be that. 3% to go, almost a full percent is dungeoneering now :P. 98% - :D? 99% - 99s & dungeoneering go. 100% Stuff to get for trimmed completionist: 202/4150 gold tickets obtained. 8/13 champion scrolls found. 7000/125000 runespan points obtained. 331/500 fish flingers medals obtained. Slayer Log Since I promised people to note my tasks/skips/blocks etc. and I hit 93 slayer/all slayer monsters unlocked, I now have a log. Blocks are jungle strykewyrms, desert strykewyrms, abyssal demons, gargoyles and fire giants. I may unblock fire giants to block ice strykewyrms. Aquanites are still locked. Assume the completionist cape gets summoning defence, soak and range str but no other changes. This affects weight also (so the set weighs some -40 kg). Of course the armour also grants the void set effects, barrows set effects, penance set effect, slayer helmet effects and protections, life point boosts, and various item effects such as prayer necklaces, amulet of zealots, divine and elysian (both on the shield), salve amulet, 151 scroll capacity, Castle Wars armour effects (with cloak and helmet usable in CW), Family Crest gauntlets, ring of Charos, camouflage etcetera. It also provides a 2.5% xp boost to selected skills and all elite diary item effects. This set is now available for $200 at your local gamestore. Martial arts: "Martial arts are extensive systems of codified practices and traditions of combat, practiced for a variety of reasons, including self-defense, competition, physical health and fitness, as well as mental and spiritual development." From that we gather that the term 'martial arts' refers to the collection of such systems but is not itself one of them (also I don't see where I ever denied that martial arts involve weapons...?). Secondly I would argue that implementing any such system in Runescape is useless and doesn't actually improve the game. I don't quite understand your first argument, care to elaborate in layman's terms? In response to your second argument; I think it does improve the game - it adds variety to what is currently a limited range of melee attacks. 'One for all' weapons are great in that it's so versatile, but it poorly reflects what truly happens in combat and fails to bring about a level of 'skill' that I think should exist in combat - which appears to be the case now, as the Chaotic Rapier seems to be the predominant weapon of choice against most things. It may require a new mechanic altogether that's less reliant on a random number generator in order to calculate damage though... @Grasle - 'no.' is not constructive criticism, please refrain from spamming on these boards. Well my first point is that the term 'martial arts' does not refer to a series of combat moves but rather to the collection of collections of combat moves (/semantics). Not a very important thing. If you change RS to require skill in (slayer) combat you're really making such a fundamental change that you'd be better off making a new game, imo. On the other hand, changing only pvp combat isn't neccesary because that already requires skill except where is has been eliminated on purpose (aka staking uses really simple combat to make it even for the skilled and unskilled).
  9. Personally I take: (equipped): Flame gloves, ring of fire, lava staff. (inventory): Inferno adze, nature runes, coins, 3-5 juju woodcutting potions, 3.5 urns per juju potion (round down at 85- woodcut, round up at higher levels (lol random guideline)). Without an adze, the ring and gloves are useless of course. The idea is that you alch any logs you recieve, with juju + adze making it all very relaxed (hi-alch more than keeps up easily) but still just over 100k woodcutting xp/hr and some 30k firemaking xp/hr as well. Without jujus or without adze you can still hi-alch but you won't be able to keep up as easily; near-constant alching is required. Without either of them, you'll probably want to low-alch. Dropping can basically keep up with any combination of juju/adze etc. but I'd recommend having 3-4 spaces open in case you miss a log. I wouldn't use the deposit box at all, especially with urns in your inventory it's annoying to bank after 20 seconds and it does cut your xp/hr by quite a lot.
  10. 11k gold charms can get you almost 1m xp, 6k greens another 700k or so. With about 2m slayer to 99 to go, you can count on another 1.5-2m-ish xp in all charms (depending on what tasks you do). All that together will get you to about 92 summoning I think, less if you don't take golds/greens. So if you want a yak asap it's probably worth taking every charm. On the other hand, there's about 5 golds to the crim, so if you can gather crimsons faster than the time it takes to make 5x the pouches I guess that'd be better.
  11. I think it works like you describe, yes. It's not a great amulet due to rigour, turmoil and the arcane stream necklace/fury amulet but if you range/mage hybrid on curses a lot it might be worth it (e.g. turmoil zerkers).

  14. No clue, 40k range 60k melee xp? Or more? You don't have a rapier of course, so you'll probably have more cannon damage and less melee damage than most people who kill black dragons.

  16. It requires some skill, but it's possible to either lure the 360 in such a way that you can pray range without taking damage or the 90 in such a way that you can pray page without taking damage.
  17. Plank make (cast on mahogany logs) would be the best way to get that magic xp cheap (it might profit). It's also pretty fast at some 130-50k xp/hr.
  18. Martial arts = combat skills. The animations for different punches etc. are just that, visual aid to imagine what the combat actually looks like (or just an annoying distraction from the metagame). If you want more varied unarmed combat I'm not with you, I don't care at all for using fists. It's not an efficient way to dispose of someone. If you want more varied attacks with weapons in general, I'm not with you either; I don't see the difference between, say, a diagonal cut or a horizontal one being of any use in the current game. It would require such a major revamp that the actual attacks become minor details.
  19. Yes, and an effigy every 1.5-2 hours. If you value your prayer xp you could not bank at all and bonecrunch + yak hides, which would be break-even/200-300k profit and 1.5 hour effigies.
  20. If you have some, use them for the herblore habitat patches, otherwise, don't bother? It increases farming xp as you probably know, and you have to hunt 1 Saradomin vine to get a witchdoctor mask anyway. I don't think it's worth hunting for more.
  21. 3 is easy, that's yes. 2: I'd bring 1 overload 1 superantifire, you will use about 2 doses of each per trip (10 minutes for ~30 kills). Praying deflect melee and turmoil is easiest, using elite void w/ Korasi's sword and defender. I wouldn't heal with ss off task and especially not without rapier, as void is better than Bandos anyway, and if you used Bandos anyway you wouldn't heal as much and it'd be quite uncomfortable. 1: I think you can bank around 1.2m worth of bones and hides per hour, using about 2k cannonballs.
  22. It's not just the GE guide price, but also the effective buy/sell price. Making unfinished potions essentially requires a little merchanting.
  23. Get a good pair of gloves (RFD gloves or bracelet of regeneration) as well as a good helmet (Neitiznot). Sell the shield and get some decent barrows melee gear (Verac's skirt + Guthan's plate) with an obsidian shield if you want to tank the brothers. You can also use protect prayers at all times, for that use Dagon'Hai robes (mystic with prayer bonus and cheap). Get an arcane stream necklace (70 dungeoneering required) and lose the mystic. Use black dragonhide instead, or no armour if using protect prayers (on Dharok). Range Ahrim, melee Karil. Always pray piety when meleeing and eagle eye when ranging.
  24. Even if you can afford pernix it may not be worth it depending on how much it degrades etc. Either way I'd recommend getting void as it's a very useful set of armour. This guide has a chins/level table with void, I suppose you'll need about 10-15% more without void, and you need less if you have a geyser or steel titan.
  25. It depends on the potion, but no unfinished potion making is over 2m/hr unless you're very lucky buying them. Even 1m/hr is doubtful. Since the scroll was released, unf prices have gone down compared to herb prices.
