    I don't think dks are even worth it if you do short trips - too much resupply time. I'd still go with a yak even with fremminik sea boots, and just bank hides and take noted bones. Since you need cannon + cannonballs, staff/arcstream switches and eee for specs, at least 2 spaces for runes (with csb) or 3 without (with 4 being more reasonable for either ice + blood barrage or fire surge), overloads, yak scrolls and some starting prayer, antipoison and brews, you'd barely have enough space to even last a full unicorn which means you'd be banking like 15% of the time.
  2. You could get around level 80, 82 or so? Make something like super defence, which has little resale value but decent gp/xp.

    Crawlers are pretty good for charms, Powerfrog, the trouble is they are mainly green charms and that picking up charms hurts your killrate due to the arrangement around the cannon being disrupted/missing attack turns. If you use your effigies on summoning though, I don't think crawlers are that efficient - you'd be better off using them on runecrafting and agility. As for tds, you can count on 40 kills per hour with a steel titan. That's about 1 effigy every 2 hours and about 20 crims and 60 blues. 50 kills per hour requires either virtus and barrage or a steel titan (and a lot of skill either way).
  4. If you only want to max combat slayer, you'll have to look carefully at all quests and examine if they are worth it. Quests such as Legacy of Seergaze or Do No Evil may be worth it for the mutated bloodveld/kalphite spots even though they don't directly provide gear or large combat xp rewards. I don't know if those quests are worth it. Secondly, you have to work out when to start slayer. Starting at lower combat stats will mean you won't have to go beyond 99 melees/range as far to get 99 slayer, but you will get far slower slayer/combat xp without at least a whip, piety etc. to power through the higher defence tasks. Thirdly, you need money. At 65 defence, buy Bandos immediately. Get a fury, bracelet of regeneration and berserker ring as soon as you start, and altar some frost bones to get at the very least 43 prayer. Always train with super potions and 15% strength prayer active.
  5. Xp boost probably doesn't even stack with gilded altar or goldsmithing gloves, but w/e... it's still cutting time to 99 rc and agility by 10%. That's a large number of hours. Very very bad update.
  6. You can mage mages with sufficient magic attack bonus, or fletch a bow. At your melees, with a katagon 2h on defensive, you might as well have nothing against mages and rangers anyway. Though you should rarely have to fight mages, just like your primal-wielding teammates shouldn't have to fight brutes or primal warriors with you in the room.
  7. As a range tank you should focus on magic. Bind a celestial catalytic staff and csb charged with 225 surges. Have a hood as second bind.
  8. Actually he was barraging temple trekking, which is pretty efficient considering it's ranged (good for luring) and a large number of opponents in multicombat.
  9. Status report: Heroes are level 99, 99, 99, 51, 45 and 40 or so. ETA: many hours away. Also, lumberjack boots :D. Edit: Full constructor set and lumberjack hat. And legs.
  10. Shame though, because you can't use it when going to bloodveld as well (and I don't like the abyss).
  11. For anyone wondering why their companion isn't attacking: these aren't meant to be killed by hand. Note: they'll be hit within 1 square of the fence, or within the fence. You have 2 charges. [hide=Powertraining] [/hide] Just tank them with a protect prayer and high prayer bonus. Several levels per encounter and very afk. Make sure you stand next to your companion.

  14. It's pretty fun and it doesn't take that long - I got Dean to 99 now and Pazuzu should be there this run. I got the full constructor set minus top as well.
  15. Getting some Temple Trekking done - about 280 total levels atm and 90+ Pazuzu and Dean.
  16. For most melee, berserker ring. For safe melee vs melee pvp when not fighting a crush weapon, onyx (i), when ranging or maging onyx of course.
  17. I like this update, which I'm happy about, and the rewards seem very useful as well.

    Cave crawlers are very efficient if you can afford them, even without 99 summoning. Tormented demons are great too, they only require a unicorn and can make you significant money to crawler 95-99. Black demons are good if you want to get a steel titan before crawlering.
  20. I use a gem bag because I love shinies :D. I got it once for a gorak task, and it saved me a good deal of either banking time or tears over leaving behind pretty shinies. It's 2k tokens, there probably isn't anyone at your level who couldn't afford to waste that much.
  21. Cutting emeralds is decent/good xp, depending on prices it may be on par with blue dragonhide bodies. Higher gems are faster and more expensive.
  22. You have the full suit of gold mining gear equipped (or any gear with Varrock armour 4), a fire staff or dragon pickaxe (or eee even) and a duelling ring. Gear up with 2 juju potions, titan summoned, 20ish urns (test this for yourself) and possibly whatever you need for alching, strange rocks etc. (I bring nature runes, gp, pickaxe and eee in addition to urns/potions). When you're out of juju, teleport to Castle Wars. Withdraw another two juju potions, set of urns and a lava titan pouch. Use a combat bracelet to teleport to the Monastry and run to the Dwarven Mines. Deposit the bracelet at the deposit box, continue mining gold. Next trip you won't have to bring another titan pouch, as you'll still have some 35 minutes on the timer of your second one. Total: 2 titans/6 juju pots used, banked twice + initial gearing up, total mining xp around 225k.
  23. If you have 112 strength bonus, adding another 4 would increase your damage output by 4/176th, or about 1/44th, almost 2.5%. If you have 19 prayer bonus and you add another 10, you'll save another 250 prayer points per hour using piety at all times. That's about 10 doses worth at level 70, or about 8 doses worth at 99. One dose costs about 1k. For most slayer tasks, you will keep your prayer low and only repot at 5-10 at the end of a task, teleport to Kuradal, get a task, then use a teleport to house tab to recharge prayer, summoning, take a glory to Edgeville, gear up and do the next task. So for a 40 minute task, where you'd use about 1000 prayer points (~10 potions) you'll actually save yourself about 3 doses anyway because you start the task with full prayer.
  24. Slayer is only really good if you value slayer xp, since you don't, you're good with waterfiends/tds/whatever else you get melee/ranged xp, charms and effigies from. Your ranged and summoning levels are quite low for tds, that can be a problem, as you won't be able to live off your familiar and you don't have an EEE to spec with. The giant mole has improved and will probably improve a little more with the bxpw coming, as the main reward from each kill is equivalent to nests, worth some 9k each at the moment (+ seeds from nests which may be worth up to 300k). You can't do may of the bosses that require high herblore/prayer/summoning levels or ranged/defence levels, but you can do barrows. Use ice barrage in elite void focused on melee (so with berserker (i), dragon boots, void deflector, barrows gloves, fire cape) and bring melee+mage helmets and fury (or glory)+arcstream. At the start of a run, use a korasi special then a rapier on Karil. Follow up by maging two of the melee brothers (using sol and arcstream), just freezing them (no need to pray). Then use another ks special on Ahrim and rapier after. Then mage the other melee brothers. In general you won't have to pray on any of the melee brothers, but you should pray on Karil and Ahrim. Use Vecna's skull with some magic potions to keep your magic level above 97, and use super attack and strength.
