  1. You can use void armour or obsidian armour as hybrid, but obsidian still has the triple damage taken so it's not very nice at all. The best off-hand magic weapon would be the virtus book. To set a spell as off-hand autocast, you must have an off-hand magic weapon equipped. Then simply set the spell as autocast.
  2. [hide]@ Speculation why Sliske didn't become a god when he struck Guthix: He didn't impale himself with the staff. 'Nuff said. As to why he didn't: does it sound very appealing to you to try and ram a staff through your body and some sleeping god's and getting the timing just right to have the power flow to you but not kill you? I very much doubt that what Zamorak did is very feasible - you can't plan on it. In order to ascend the way Guthix did, you have to be on that other plane probably.[/hide]
  3. Ports armour is probably in the 20-30m range for a set. But I'm not sure. @Newb Creator: Vampirism scrimshaws were closer to 1.6 when I sold one, about a week ago. @Leik: Scrolls are plenty easy late in the Pincers. Provided you have enough scrolls to make money off surplus goods, you don't need to rush the rest really. Finished all upgrades now, still waiting on Seasinger legs scrolls (have the resources) and then it's onwards to Death Lotus legs :3.
  4. [hide] Exactly. After this, we are going to have to balance a lot of things, for example we will have to face and neutralize the various gods and Mahjarrat. Kharshai will be an ally in keeping the Mahjarrat in check, and Azzanandra will probably be fairly helpful, but the rest, mostly the gods, will be really bleeping upset that Guthix wants them gone. That said, I wonder how we're going to get a quest like Recruitment Drive or Merlin's Crystal (e.g. where you are recruited as junior member into a prestigious group) when you really are the most hyper OP and famous human walking around. We'd better start taking classes on hiding and stealth with Sliske (sign up now get free ABS). [/hide]
  5. It's pretty much like an autotyper, in that it types for you, it doesn't press enter or use a fixed text, but that's details. So yes I would say it's technically RS rule breaking. Whether it would get you muted/banned... unless you spam, I doubt it. But I wouldn't bother, typing is fast enough (and you can't paste large blocks of text anyway).
  6. Good quest, great story, great rewards. I suspect quests like these would play out better if you had the whole series to get through.
  7. Finished port upgrades. Finished The World Wakes. Epic quest. [hide]I picked Zaros. Sliske is a bleep.[/hide] Finally found a replacement for my War-Chief title. Also, pretty map: Look at the length of the side-paths. The longest path besides the main is the ones south-east and north-west of 3 rooms total. This map has 12 dead ends (plus boss). 30 rooms including start and boss. That means you only need to run 18 + however many dewk. The south-west path for example had no keys, and the doors were plain doors. The way this played out is that you first have to run the top path that starts east and curves north and then west. Then you start the main south path to the boss, with small side paths branching every time. Due to chatting and Gulega boss (and a little bit GDscape trying out the new ults) it wasn't a fast floor, but the map... wow. Edit: Got banshee scroll. Five done now. Editedit: Got hobgoblin scroll. Not even 250 kills.
  8. Ty Mish :). +40 commendations from Conquest. Also played some PC, 13 games only, but ok. SW is really bad at night, much better played in the morning when there's only one clan. Also about 3.8m from 114, 1500 steel from maxed upgrades. No luck with scrolls still :(.
  9. Actually t70 accuracy is more like 1800-high and t80 about 3000-low. The difference is about 5% per level, which works out to about 60% per 10 levels.
  10. You're using a super low tier wand, that won't be enough vs miths. If you can't bring t75-t80 weapons, don't bother.
  11. I think we can quit the skill vs. minigame discussion, it's not for this thread. Thank you.
  12. I've never had two randoms on the same day, and I've gotten one virtually every single day since the release of ports.
  13. Rune warhammer... wow that's nice. Inb4 smithing rework puts it at level 55 and your profit goes down the drain :(. (grats)
  14. And airfaring. Was thinking about a new scoring system for CW. The way I see it, there are two problems with CW: 1) There isn't much incentive to do anything once you're a few captures behind. 2) There isn't much incentive to play at all. The second I believe can only be fixed by changing the 5k games requirement, but the first can be helped by changing the score. I was thinking the following: First there is concept of 'flag distance'. Basically it is like yardage in football (I had to look this up). Moving in circles won't help your flag distance, you have to actually bring the flag closer to your base. This is to reward people who carry the flag most of the way and pass it for the final, safe squares (to be out there and running again faster? idk, some people do). 6 tickets to all players on the team with most captures - the winning team 2 tickets to all players on the team with most flag distance 2 tickets to all players on the team with most kills (which also is least deaths and best kdr, naturally) 4 tickets to the player with most flag distance 2 tickets to the player with most kills 12 players are required in the game before the 'most kills' and 'most distance' are awarded, so that boosting isn't quite so easy. On a tie, tickets are split. If more than two people share the top distance/kill rank, no additional tickets are awarded. That way, a good player on a bad team can still get some tickets, a decent team without good flag runners can still go for the kills, and a team which captures and carries the flag often but never quite reaches their base can also get some reward. Obviously this way you award at least 5 tickets per participant (up to 5.5 with 12 players), which is 5 times as much as current CW. Shop prices and current ticket stacks would have to be adjusted.
  15. Defence last. That is the general guideline for levelling combat. Strength > Attack as well.
  16. Steel's pretty fast later on tbh, getting a few thousand a day in addition to trade goods (and scrolls when applicable). Crew is just really slow to get, I'm almost done with port upgrades but still lack my 5th tiger rider :(.
  17. You can choose what xp you want, with a choice of: Melee Attack Strength Defence Attack & strength & defence Ranged Ranged Ranged & defence Defence Magic Magic Magic & defence Defence
  18. Pretty pleased I got this before 400m overall. Now I can get xp again >.>. And yes, I finally have the lowest xp for my total level again :).
  19. Thanks :3. I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). Yay. And yes, I finally have the lowest xp for my total level again :).
  20. I'm glad F2P is getting a bit of content, I wonder if Death Plateau is also added, would be nice. Anyway F2P still deserves KBD and fletching (yes the very best skill - sorry (would help in dg I think)) imo, but ok. Rebalancing dual wield is required, I hope it's done well and not in the usual Jagex nuke-it-or-nuke-the-competition style balancing.
  21. Reminds me of the boy who cried wolf... Third time: *shoots with crossbow* "You all saw it, the wolf got him." (yes reference) The next person to ask for duo story voyages gets shot then, hm? And it'll be all Muggi's fault.
  22. I think it's a good idea to make main stories relatively accessible (~70s stats, which matches the 140 cb requirement) and rewards way into the 90s. Small side-quests at higher levels would be fine, but the 'main' story of RS (as written by WGS - ROTM etc.) is pretty key to the game. That said, it'd be nice if the human/politics-flavoured quests would be expanded on as well. All these epic artefacts are all proper quest stuff, but there's not nearly enough of the Plague City - Biohazard - Regicide or the whole Red Axe line kind of quest, where it's just humans and low-powered humanoids messing about (to a backdrop of Certified Ancient Evil, true, but still humanoids at human power levels). Doing the Temple Knights quest line in 2007 made me realize we weren't always derpy adventurers being saved by signature heroes half the time. For virtually no requirements, the Temple Knights are *eager* to recruit you, and you get to be totally badass and sound clever as well. Also note that Monkey Madness, considered a tough quest, has only two requirements: The Grand Tree and Tree Gnome Village. That is: 25 agility and killing a black demon. Requirements don't make a quest tough or fun (MM is fun yes! despite all the poison).
  23. I think sighted bow is worse than magic, it depends a bit on your accuracy & defence needs, but the dps is (much) lower. Gravite shortbow on the other hand, is a good weapon, problem is it's only +5 tiers and degrades - repairs are quite costly.
  24. Yes, hence I said myth :P. Iirc the study did not confirm the myth (disproved it) ;).
