EOC and combat experience?
You get xp when you are the first person to tag (a * appears next to the name of a tagged monster). If someone else kills the monster, you still get xp. For bosses, the xp and drop is determined by damage dealt, as it was pre-EoC.

How much would 92 prayer for Soulsplit cost? (Estimate)
Until you can use Turmoil/Anguish/Torment, Soul Split won't help as much because you lose Piety/Rigour/Augury.

10k captains
If you got your desired traits, 2 mor/2 sf/1 cb is considered the best by the HLF guide (and also by me but ok). Single-cb missions are rarer than others, it seems to me, and for example Assassin voyages often come with spices which are much less useful than other trade goods. Of the 700 steel missions, there are 22.5k singles, 14.5k doubles and a 12k triple of all varieties. Of the 5 trade good missions, there are no combat singles, just 20k mor, 20k sf, 11.5k doubles of sf+another, and 10k triples. Of the 700 steel/5 trade good specials, only the Assassin (also with the Convict) offers combat (16k and 20k single). So unless you were hunting Laquer exclusively, I wouldn't bother with a second cb captain. Steel can be obtained from other adventurers besides the Assassin.

How many casts should I bring to Fight Caves?
The accuracy issue is an old myth and afaik has never been confirmed. @Muggi: yes barrages got changed (twice) so they ended up being equal to blitzes again.

How many casts should I bring to Fight Caves?
Spells are capped at level 80, that is, all surges have the same max hit as Air Surge (768) and all level 80+ blitzes and barrages the same as Blood Blitz (786). Polypore strike is apparently treated as level 80 Ancient spell for this purpose. All other spells scale normally with level, including Smoke Blitz and Shadow Blitz which are level 74 and 76 respectively. The cap is reasonable as it balances out magic against ranged and melee, which derive strength from equipment - currently capped at 90 for melee and 80 for ranged, but for dungeoneering it's a major problem because there is level 99 equipment all around.

EOC and combat experience?
You don't get xp from infinite-spawn monsters like monolith shades, summoned zombies and mercenaries (I think?), boss-summoned skeletons (Necrolord/Skeletal Horde) etc.. Blood necklace kills don't give xp either, because bn doesn't tag afaik.

How many casts should I bring to Fight Caves?
Ice spells have the following base max hits and rune costs: 556 - 3 water 1 death - 114 gp 672 - 4 water 2 death - 214 gp 786 - 5 water 1 blood - 200 gp 786 - 5 water 2 blood - 365 gp 768 - 5 water 5 air - 75 gp (rush-burst-blitz-barrage-surge) So basically, use Blitz or Surge, or barrage autoattacks when you can hit more than one target (which you can with the Tz-Keks and their spawn). I'd get a higher-tier set of boots, like dragon. Spined boots work too (level 50 ranged boots). Snakeskin is really weak. Finally, replace the stole with an amulet of glory. Stole has +4 prayer, glory has +3 and 3.9% all-round crit which is much better. Bring a void ranged helmet to help your bow, I think you'll be ranging the Ket-Zeks which are the strongest monsters in the caves (except Jad) - worth killing them faster.

How does maul > offhand work exactly? Does that mean you can do an OH attack and maul attack every 7 ticks (as opposed to just maul every 6)? That's... curious, smells like a horrible patchjob. It does mean fast weapons gain more dps from turmoil/overload if you're not using abilities, I think? And yeah, magic is screwed as always. Got 2k port score, 2018 now, and Admiral title. One more port upgrade (workshop) and two totems and I'm done. Much later I'll have to replace telescopes with jade statues probably, but that won't be a problem.

How many casts should I bring to Fight Caves?
If your combat stats are fairly even, it will be faster to use the correct style on each monster. 2h weapons are stronger than 1h except for magic. Guthans is a good armour set for melee, it's tier 70 and heals you as well. If you can get one, bgs is stronger, cmaul stronger still. Ranged wise, crystal bow is good, royal crossbow is better. Magic wise, staff of light works, enhanced ancient staff works, cstaff and abs are better.

A dying skill?
I don't think Construction is dying so much as it has never lived, because there's not much to do. Actual construction training is high-attention and it can only be done solo - there is absolutely no way to train together. Construction as a skill is about building something once and then use it - using it requires no construction. I like the hidey-holes and rope racks and such, it'd be quite nice if you could build more things all over RS, more shortcuts, but also things like walls/doors/barricades (wall in a resource in an area with agressive monsters) and perhaps dig your own dungeons (mining) and make them safe (construction) to explore some more cavern systems. Preferred gear for Fight Kiln / Fight Caves / General Combat?
It's not very useful to have t30 boots for ranging when t60 melee boots do the job just as well. Just invest in a single pair of good boots (dragon rider is good, or one of the GWD boots) and use that for all styles. Same deal for gloves. Only when pushing the limits it really matters what boots/gloves you use. For BeO, did you pray melee and kill the rangers? If you did, you did something *really* weird to fail 20 times :o (or you lagged on the lava floor, that's a killer). Anyway, depending on your patience, there are two options: 1) Wait for Jagex to fix obsidian armour and use that (easy Kiln, long wait). 2) Do the Kiln now. If doing the Kiln now, obsidian is still a good choice, just not as good as it was when it was still t80, and not as good as it will be with damage reduction. Bring powerful 2h weapons, for example maul/royal crossbow/cstaff, ice barrage and overload/turmoil naturally. That should make short work of all the monsters. Dills will be a pain without the pre-nerf steel titan, pickaxe + dreadnips if possible. Yak full of food would be the best I think, (champions) tacklebox filled with raw rocktail + bunyip w/ scrolls after that or a unicorn w/ scrolls. Sad thing is, unicorn scrolls cost adrenaline like food does, bunyip scrolls don't afaik.

Slayer is actually much less multi-style than we thought on EoC release, though it definitely is required for some tasks and useful for quite a few. You can pretty much maul anything though. Finished Waterfall and Vampire/Demon Slayer. Third time waterfall was easy, the fire giants were all under attack anyway :P. Just had the easiest med ever, not a very fast time, but only three monsters to kill: primal warrior (gd), skeletal mage (mime), runed behemoth (idk just happened).

Need EoC/Combat Tips (Armor, dual wielding, etc.)
Has the FSH been confirmed as working now? My post was under the assumption it didn't post-EoC and this issue was on Jagex's "to do" list. The 16.67% boost of an FSH outclasses the 10% boost of a void helm, of course. FSH is 12.5% (9/8) not 16.67% (7/6) but otherwise yes, fsh > void helm. But void top and legs still make fine armour for slayer, as you don't need more typically and it has prayer bonus. You also don't have to switch it which is nice.

Old veteran player seeks help!
Mauls indeed cannot slash. But any monster weak to slash, is also weaker to melee than to other styles (and weaker to ranged than to magic). The point is that because there is no slash weapon as powerful as the maul, you should use the maul, despite it being crush and not slash.

Best melee hotbar? What to fight for cash?

2007 - Old School RuneScape... You Vote! - [It's Here!]
Until the free one month that comes with voting ends, there isn't much you can say about player numbers. Even if 2007scape ends up being 'free' along with regular P2P, I think there will be some people with one month subscriptions leaving. After that, it'll take a good deal more time for things to settle, but we should have some idea at least. Also, I would like to note that my original prediction was 400k votes, which will be reached and passed soon. Onwards to 500k? There's ~76 hours of voting left.

Yes, autoattack crits 75-125% of max damage, ability crits 100% of max damage. Autoattack crits can actually hit higher than basic ability crits (except when taking basics like Snipe/Sever/frag shot obviously, but ok). I think my max with Sagittarian shortbow is about 2.5k :o. Ports/dg update: still 1995 port score, will get shipwright upgrade for Admiral rank tomorrow-ish, scrolled have been failing/not rolled lately so yeah :(. Good progress on chi/laquer/plate though. 1.3m to 113 dg, 1.5m to 400m overall, can just about make it to 113 before 400m. Also did a bit of 2007scape. FYI: moss giants hit up to 12. Cake protects over pebble. RQ x2.

Best melee hotbar? What to fight for cash?
Dual wield sucks because ability damage doesn't take into account your off-hand weapon (or so it seems). It's still good because there are t90 one-handed melee weapons and no 2h weapons, and because the Massacre ultimate is quite good. With Momentum, dual wield weapons are a bit better damage output. For money, Nex or KK.

Best melee hotbar? What to fight for cash?
Your basic 3-second cooldown ability is Slice, which has a 10% bonus critical chance (good thing). However, you can use an ability every 1.8 seconds so you need a few more. First, Dismember and Sever are higher dps than Slice. They also work with all weapons. Sadly, their cooldowns are too long to fill out a full dps routine. When dual wielding, use Havoc, it's powerful and the cooldown isn't too long. You may also need a weaker ability to fill out your routine, like Punish, but ideally avoid that. When using 2h weapons, use Smash and Cleave. When fighting stun-immune enemies, use Backhand. To use your abilities: open with Slice, use another ability (Dismember), then Slice, then another (Sever), then Slice and so on to build adrenaline quickly without getting all your abilities on cooldown at once. Then for tresholds: Assault rocks, Slaughter is good if you can get your target to move, Whirlwind is good when fighting multiple targets. Ultimates: Massacre for dual wield is amazing, for 2h there is Meteor Strike. However if you can afford to take a lot more damage, Berserk is crazy high damage - combo with an adrenaline pot and work your way up to Assault for a possible 20k damage in 6 seconds.

Need EoC/Combat Tips (Armor, dual wielding, etc.)
I refer to my post here about what weapons and armour to use. For slayer, you still want your fsh, but you also want to switch between attack styles a bit depending on task. Though if you really want, it is possible to mono-style nearly all of slayer.
