  1. If you're wondering, then maybe for you they're not. 99s (and any other lofty goal like a phat) is only worth it if you enjoy the game and want to make it a goal.
  2. Even if it can play RuneScape, an iPad or Netbook can too. Cool nonetheless, however.
  3. I enjoyed reading this section, glad to see it come back.
  4. I use Wikia for all my general questions, it's always updated quickly by someone after new updates.
  5. Try killing something that drops stackables, like Jellies (they drop swamp tar). Minimal clicking, and you can get clue scrolls out of it as well.
  6. Very true, especially for the bolded/italic part. Make it be pretty much like any forex home trading platform, especially with bid and ask. This would really only help when dealing with items in the middle of a turnaround. Most of the time, Bid/Ask are the same (at mid, low, or high). When I'm looking at an item that's turning around, I always do a few :test buys" to get the real bid/ask.
  7. Partyhats can only get rarer, I love my red+white+blue set. You get alot of respect for your accomplishment, and it's great to own something that you know is actually rare and limited (unlike skillcapes). I'd say it's worth it.
  8. I personally thing Godswords will be a good buy in the future when they stabilize around a new price, but not yet. Keep an eye on the trend and watch for signs of it flattening out.
  9. Agree here, I wouldn't mind some updated attack emotes a well - most of them are really old!
  10. I enjoy knowing that I'm doing something the most efficient way when I'm going for a goal. If I enjoy it, then there's no reason for me not to do it!
  11. That's rather annoying, not sure why they would program it to do that. I'll post on the forums, maybe they'll fix it.
  12. The way most people do this is by buying an item that's being manipulated, then selling the price-inflated junk (often after it starts crashing) along with the rare on the street market. This helps you get closer to the street value of an item in cash.
  13. A bank space takes up at most 32 bits. 32 bits * 1,200,000,000 is equal to about 143 megabytes, less then the size of your average 20-minute video file. Size, database bloat, or technical difficulty here is simply not a factor. They don't give unlimited back space because: a) Higher bank space is a good benefit for membership b) There's a limited number of items you can actually have c) Extra bank space upgrades boost morale d) Who needs unlimited space anyways?
  14. It's not really technical, an item is defined by an integer between 1 and 20,000 so it only takes up a few bytes of space at most. Probably the reason is that they see no reason to give more/unlimited space - there are only 3k+ tradeable items, and you really don't need more then a few hundred at any time anyway. They also have plenty of members-only storage options on your POH to help with this as well.
  15. Excellent factsheet, some stuff here I didn't know! Hopefully you'll keep it updated.
  16. What exactly is the definition of "overrated"? While a cooking cape may be fater to get then Dungeoneering, for example, both players have a right to be proud. I think "overrated" is honestly a term made up by those who don't think people appreciate their achievements enough to degrade people with what they see as lesser achievements.
  17. I don't give "Old School" too mcuh thought. I'm still a relatively new player compared to alot here (I joined back when the Christmas Antlers came out, nowhere near RSC or any rares drops). I guess people classify themselves based on the "era" they joined in - pre-GE era, old PKing era, RSC, rares era, etc.
  18. I agree here. I rarely saw skillcapes when I was F2P and they were a big deal, when I got members everyone and their level-3 had one or more. But whats wrong with showing of something your proud of? Sure I agree it's just stupid to make fun of someone becuase they don't have a lot of skill capes but if someones proud of getting a 99 why not let them wear it as often as they can? It only costs 99k and very seldom there is something far more important to take the cape spot while skilling. I agree. Getting down on someone because they're wearing s skillcape is just ridiculous to be honest, and if it's a hard skill they deserve props for their accomplishment as well.
  19. Even a basic graphics card should perform well with RS. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, how much free memory do you have and what's your processor usage stats as you play?
  20. they never left, they just got reduced. Not all bots were affected by this update, just the most popular ones. And they will be back, I'm sure.
  21. I just collect the pieces as I skill anyway, I'll get it done eventually but I'm in no hurry. It'll be neat to add to my house if and when I finish though.
  22. Should be fun, I like to see alot more informal community type events going on.
  23. I agree here. I rarely saw skillcapes when I was F2P and they were a big deal, when I got members everyone and their level-3 had one or more.
  24. They will be back unless Jagex's legal team managed to stop them completely (instead of just taking their domain name, which is possibly what happened). Even if they are through, someone will probably leak the code and they'll come back. I'm going to enjoy the respite while it's here.
  25. A 32-bit OS can handle up to 4GB. I'm surprised a Jagex mod doesn't know that! I've always wondered what servers they ran on. It's hard to believe a whole HD world with 1k+ players on at once ran on only 4gb of memory.
