  1. There's a certain list of items that are usually good to flip, and as a general rule they are higher-end consumables and armor (think Dragon Boots, Monkfish, Barrows, etc). Explore until you find several good items.
  2. I wouldn't exactly call Merchanting a accomplishment, but that's merely my opinion. I'll admit I want some capes just because it looks good with an outfit, but there's also ones where I do it because I like the idea of the skill. I'd love to get 99 RC because the cape is damn hot, the profit is great and I dont mind RC'ing. The problem though is I neither have the time or patience to accomplish it without it spanding over 5 years. if its not an accomplishment i would like to see YOU merchent several billion + get into the rares market by building street value. Yeah I suppose any chump can do that, just like cooking  Seconded. I enjoy merchanting, and use partyhats as my "skillcape", because earning a living in the market takes considerably more skill then cooking 100,000 lobsters. I'm sure Jagex appreciates rares for this reason, they give something to work toward to playsrs who want to do something other then repetitive training.
  3. For every GE transaction (Buy -> Sell), ONE person (the buyer or the seller) gets an instant transaction every time, one person has to wait. If there is no buy offer currently in the GE for the item you are selling at your price, the next person to buy will get your item instantly.

The problem though is I neither have the time or patience to accomplish it without it spanding over 5 years. I don;t have any skillcapes because, frankly, getting them is pretty tedious and boring. Merchanting your way to 1B+ takes a good amount of skill and considerably less time invested. Besides skillcapes and phats, there are plenty of other more minor tokens people work for - think POH, Firecape, etc. Major goals are what motivate most people who play RuneScape to some degree to continue playing.
  5. I have partyhats instead of skillcapes, but they're basically the same thing. I'm proud to show off my accomplishments, and for many people they're one of the most important goals in the game. Some people don't play with a skillcape or omething similar as a goal but that's fine too, RuneScape is an open ended game.
  6. I've thought about playing some of those. Which would you consider your favorite?
  7. A Captcha system is completely unnecessary. They had Random Events that served the same purpose, and were actually relevant to the game.
  8. Heck, I know people who play Pac-Man... If you enjoy it, its a good game. Agreed, though I don't think anyone's logged as many hours on PacMan as some people here have on RS. It's really easy to get addicted to RuneScape, and I'm still not quite sure why.
  9. Graphics are OBVIOUSLY not why we play the game, lol. Think about what RS looked like a year or so ago before the HD update. We all played (or would have played) then too.
  10. Alexa isn't the greatest predictor, but there probably is a downtrend in players. Jagex must have seen this, they're actually running paid ads for RuneScape now.
  11. I see people like this in my CC every so often. It's funny how stupid it looks typed out.
  12. I probably play RS over any others because it was the first MMO I played, it's free, and it has an interesting sort of charm that others don't. I can't really explain it, but there's something strangely enjoyable about gathering RuneScape pixels.
  13. The new outfits look excellent, I've been waiting for them to make some decent default clothes for awhile now. Some of the defaults actually look better then some of the more expensive buyable outfits out there!
  14. My fav freeware is Glary Utilities, it's a junk cleaner/optimizer for windows. Always been helpful to have around!
  15. PID

Technically there is still a PID, you can find yours by reading the ID in the URL of your adventurer's log.
  16. I remember first PKing like that back in the day, my best loot was rune armor.. Nostalgia much?
  17. Cool vid. One itemers bug the hell out of me personally.
  18. Excellent drops! How much do you risk on average?
  19. Great vids. I saw you a few times when I dabbled in PKing :]
  20. Good story, I had a few good laughs :D
  21. Hopefully they'll have high level thieving, etc ways to get level fours as well.
  22. Fully agree with this. The little I've trained would have been alot easier/more fun if I didn't have to keep track of so many things myself.
  23. I agree with Shady on the "core design", but I think instead of increasing level caps they'll just keep pumping out new skills. TBH, I prefer this - would you rather get 99 in a new skill or an extra long 20 levels in a skill you mastered ages ago?
  24. I personally believe Dragon items will be the backbone of the new TT updates, which will cause a short term crash. I'm planning to buy after the first few days and profit from the bounce.
  25. This goes for PvP as well.. I hate those guys.
