GOP update sucks. Though, this may convince me to train summoning... Wait no, still can't do it in single combat.

The 2k is "wasted" but the mage is far from dead. Also yea, the only place magic seems effective now is in deep wildy, where you CAN'T teleport. Also if they turn mage protect on and d'hide i find i can still hit >.< also i could simply turn melee protect on as well. Though the anti-teleport update helps, people still arent willing to die.

Yea, i cans see magic winning in almost any DM against a non mage of the same level, they simple are superior because of uber farcasting abilities. Its easy to farcast almost anything short of a dark bow, and dark bows have horrid damage per second. But no one seems to "respect" mage and they tele and run as fast as they can. If you see the splash, start running as a mage, you will still be 5 steps away and after a few seconds can cast the spell again. AKA NOT DEAD.

Hmm, it helps when your opponents don't even TRY to break the barriers.

I prefer non skillers. One particular skiller who hangs around the RC guild, (and he will know who he is if he reads this) runs around saying hes the 3rd or 4th best skiller in f2p, saying hes really rich followed by "selling purple partyhat" yea ok we get it your rich, stfu now. And then in the game if he manages to fail its um... "lag"

After pjing update magic wins. But you still can't stop your opponent from running, which everyone does as soon as they see any sign of magic.

Having protection prayers is actually pretty fun though. When i got 43 on my first account... :shock:

Yes, but for some people it may be fun to get a 99 skill, not all 99's are a "grind" As an example I'm pretty sure pkndemon got 99 in strength and range without training at all, she just pked ALOT.

Maybe because its not exactly "wasting your life away" And you get some nubs saying "nice cape" once your done. You seem to keep thinking everything in runescape is useless, but if its fun, its not any more a waste of time than going to a party, or some other form of "fun"

Only just begun to notice that. Its good most people can't tell when you are going to repel, and thus can't time it properly.

Thanks for the tips, works a charm so far. Your repelling seems to override enemy attracting/repelling, but you have a rather large delay :evil:

I realize that, but i would prefer less shouts of "failure" when im just going around killing rock crabs or something. Pub chat off is simply not an option, because i don't like not hearing what the people are saying. My overall enjoyment of the game would probably be hampered if i got summoning, i can try to ignore the idiotic pures, but as happened on my old pure i would eventually get into a long drawn out argument... Wasting my time and there time, and at the end when i feel "good" about myself when the only argument they have left is "well i still don't like summoning" another pure goes up to me and says. "Failed" And the cycle starts again. Dumb pures.
