The inflexible and inadaptible RS community just can't bear to see more convenient, easier, more fun, etc. ways to do something now when they did something the "old fashioned" and so-called honourable way earlier. Those who can't adapt die (quit rs). Those who can survive (continue playing rs). Basic law of evolution: Survival of the fittest.

It is obvious that new content will usually outdo old content, but Jagex had better look into why the scimitar is the best of the lot of weapons that were released at the same time if I am not wrong. Don't repeat to me your cliche "there can be only one best weapon", there can be more than one (in a particular combat style only). For instance: Weapon A, a crushing weapon with say +10 crush attack and +10 strength. Weapon B, a stabbing weapon, with +10 stab attack and +10 strength. There will perform equally on a monster with equal stab and crush defence, but the crushing weapon will perform better on a monster weak against crush and vice versa. The only thing that will have to be changed is the number of monsters weak against crush/stab/slash-make them equal. And introduce equal powered armor that defends very well against a particular attack style. Or just get rid of this stupid system.

For god's sake put some thinking into your post before you talk crap and insult your own intelligence. I know range is supposed to own mage, but that does not mean range is BETTER than mage. Its better when fighting against a mage, but not better as a whole. Anyway, a ranger pjing a mage is not ranged being better than mage, its just a form of cheating, and a "class" being better than another "class" does not justify it being able to cheat on it. And that method above wouldn't work. By the time you ran up to the ranger, he would have got a few rapid shots on you, and after you shove him, he will continue firing until you're out of range and then even after you disport, you might arrive somewhere still in range of him and he'll continue shooting like hell at you and you'll probably resemble a dead porcupine before you get to do the pulse spells.

That's why I say jagex is dumb. They create so many weapons, but they don't give them a use in a certain way. Give longbows a use, like adding its accuracy so there is a significant increase in its use for certain monsters, etc. Longbows totally OWN shortbows IRL.

Look- magic can hit a 0 -0.5 also. Melee can also do the same. Prove to me that splashing is hitting 0 then.

Why are mages forced to find quiet places to pj then? Meleers and rangers don't have to. It is useful for them, but its not necessary. So why is mage restricted in its areas? And how come a mage has to be level 35? Why can't I have a higher magic level but still remain relatively effective? Why does melee get so much while mage/range gets so little? And by the way, your hit spreads won't even be accurate because mage has 2 ways of missing: hitting a 0 and splashing. So that effectively increases the chance of missing. I don't care how powerful is magic in your opinion. It is underpowered and costs too much to be used effectively by f2pers. I don't care if fire blast's max hit is lowered. Lower the cost and give them some freaking bottomwear that won't degrade. I'm sick of arguing about pointless crap that goes round and round in a circle. Scenario: Cb lvl 50 or so mage, about 25 hp. Starts binding and owning a meleer from afar. Suddenly, pjer steps in, chops with his rune scimmy, about 10 hp gone and mage realises he is getting pjed, tries to run for the bank 10 steps away but unfortunately gets chopped twice by the pjer... Now don't tell me "spot pjers from afar" How? PvP worlds are swarming with people. "bind 'em and run!" By the time you bind them, they would have gotten another shot in, and in addition to a few chops earlier, you would be a piece of dead meat. Apparently, the pjing situation isn't as oversimplistic as you made it.

Fine. The author blamed just about everything bad that happened in RS on kids. I can bet you teenagers are even more immature than kids in RS. Sure, kids might be aggravating and "dumb", but who posts all the spam and flame? I doubt kids even know a curse word. Do you know how boring powermining is? Agreed, these spells are very useful against pjers but what about something more direct, like increasing the "in combat" time to say 20 seconds. It should preferably be low leveled. Sure, all those spells are effective against MELEE pjers, but what about ranged pjers? Don't tell me ranged is supposed to own mage, I know that but they aren't supposed to pj people too, like melee.

Then why is your melee stats the highest then? Hypocrite. Magic is so weak its not worth it training it high and getting owned by some stupid meleer which mages were "supposed" to own. You shouldn't even upgrade melee its overpowered enough already. In your perspective: E.g. Mage is power 6, Melee is power 10 and ranged is power 10. So you think melee is too "boring" and you want to make it even more overpowered so you introduce a melee weapon "dread whip" that increases melee's "power" by +2. Then, just to please the rangers and mages, you add a saradomin staff that increases mage's "power" by +2 and a bow that increases range's "power" by +2. So who's still at the bottom? mage: 8 "power" Melee: 12 "power" range: 12 "power".

I'm not saying f2p needs armor of any type, just NOT melee armor as its already "overpowerdly" strong.

lol were you broke...? Since SLASH > CRUSH, its not even worth buying a Rune Warhammer for Elvarg.... Some stupid guide said so lol. And there's no need to be rude. please....no more upgrading...isnt hitting like 92 max with ags enough.. For god's sake AGS is a slashing weapon... NERF those slash weapons and and power up crush and stab. Really, learn to read instead of skimming through the "report". Its so short I could finish it in less than a minute.

Great articles this week. Short and sweet (first and third one). For those who feel cheated of their hard work getting to 99 without "do-x"-really, times change, everything will change and you can't stop it.

Nice idea, but I would still want a mage item that gives reasonable melee defence. And I don't think the soul orb needs to be created yet, maybe just wait until the soul altar comes out.

Oh hey, if I love melee so much, why is YOUR melee stats highest? :roll: Hypocrite. Do you know of such things as "side" accounts? My melee stats being highest is just because I dislike range and mage is too expensive to train a lot. Why am I ranting that mage is expensive then? Oh, and why don't you show your account stats then?
