  1. Lol'd at this thread. someone move it to unhelpful and advice please this is not general discussion
  2. Fully agree with #2. Especially as you can't kick someone from your team when they are terrible because the dungeon will not reset for 4:4. This is the exact reason why people may have 80+ dungeon but be clueless as to how to dungeon and they play badly! #3 makes perfect sense. Hate searching rooms for keys. To make it easier to find teams I really think jagex does need to drasticallly reduce the number of floors they have. Currently its 35 but if they get more floors it will be twice as hard finding a team who fits the floors you need. Instead of Jagex setting a dungeon world I think people should just form a dungeon clan with people from their own timezones who can play regularly. That way at least you can ensure better quality players. It's strange while dungeoning is meant to be a more social skill just the way it's set up leaves little time for actual interaction and friendships. Most people are just rushing floors on their way to 99. I think it's just because of the way the skill is set up the hassle of finding teams, stress of bad teammates, stress of people leaving or dcing and being unable to finish floors.

    Dungeoneering

Never talk to strangers. Never dungeon with strangers.
  4. I'm not totally sure how the experience penalty thing works out, but I've played multiple 5:5 large dungeons with "The Best Cmb" (Level 3) and have yet to be hit with an experience penalty because of it. Yes but your dungeon takes longer to do. With 5 130+ they simply kill faster. Most 130+ also have good skills. +1 to bladewing's style of play And to the OP if you want to dungeon then get the combat stat's needed - why do u want to keep ur combat artificially low anyhow
  5. Brilliant but fair suggestion. The only thing is that those players with the high levels in muliple skills tend to not be that helpful. Increasing the assist cap to 90k experience per day or even doubling it to 60k would solve the problem as well.
  6. F2P had a update where someone notes fish for you on karamaja Or we can blame bots
  7. Farmville farming is fun, I wish Jagex would update rs farming. Plants dying at 99 sucks. There is no real benefit to 99 farming atm. I've seen so many 99 farmers complain. The reason why the farming skill was so bashed at the beginning was that no one knew how to farm, herb seeds were unlabelled, grown herbs had to be cleaned to figure out what the heck u harvested, people had stockpiles of 100k+ potato and onion seeds which were worthless, and there are far too many seeds below level 50 that was eating up bankspace, there was too much running around to do the skill from allotment to hops patches to tree patches to bush patches etc. there should have been better transportation networks, there was no lephrechaun, payments to farmers seemed high, crops were dying far too much, people thought farming boots did something when they did nothing, raking was boring, half the seeds didn't need to be watered, no one really knew the growth times and there was no farming amulet to remotely monitor crops health, hops brewing was unncessairly complicated, produce couldn't be noted when harvested you had to drop your crops or keep running to the bank, farming as implemented was sort of a mess.
  8. ^ We aren't playing the same game. There's been a lot of times where I CAN"T buy items from the ge.
  9. ^ What is there not to understand? This to me falls in the category of bug abuse, because overnight a few people are now extremely rich, this is not fair. This is not a gut reaction, loyal long-term players are mad about this. I honestly wonder if mod mark made this change to wake up jagex. 1. The fact that this update was okayed by jagex staff. 2. The fact that the alch values for these boots are out of porportion compared to even dragon boots! 3. The fact that there was no rollback even given the huge player outcry. Maybe mod mark is quitting and doesn't care and this is his farewell. Even the post on RSOF that he made doesn't exactly sound like him. Just when I thought the game could not get worse they do this. Also those boots should have been max 1k-5k. They should have allowed a natural price increase on the GE.
  10. I think I echo many people's frustrations that jagex changes things like this and then says it's not a big deal. Especially when the bulk of players point out that the change was unneeded. They could have repriced the climbing boots at 5k and sold noted boots if there really was a shortage. Practical simple solutions are the best. I have no idea why jagex like to mess things up so much.
  11. Simple make it untradeable. Also I don't see why the price needed to be raised so much. Leave it the price it was, who cares it's quest reward. REWARDs should not be nerfed.
  12. ^ They backed off on merching prayer potions. That was the one item they can't manipulate due to demand. Also those rarely used items are exactly what a lot of clan's merch. Remember that one of the first widely merched item after GE was build was ashes, and this price increase was even praised by Jagex in an ironic twist. For all of you saying ban the players, that is not a solution at all. They would just move to communicating outside of RS and creating alt accounts. The problem behind this is that the GE is very broken and can be easily manipulated. ^ This is what smart players do. If some item is being merched go gather it or sell it if you have it. You should be profitting from buyouts even if you are not in a merch clan. The GE is a broken system. But it's the only alternative we have. And you do have to admit it's much easier to buy MOST items via the GE than pre-trade restrictions. Does someone have to whine and cry about the GE and merch every single week.
  13. Agreed too many resources are spent on these unwanted changes.
  14. You didn't kick him...? Kicking needs to be improved. Atm, if you kick someone the dungeon doesn't reset to 4:4 instead of 5:5 for mimes etc. Additionally if someone is kicked the whole team gets less exp. We've documented this. It's a double penalty so it's why we put up with leechers.
  15. For some minigames yes. It is more fun versus if people played like jagex suggests. Mobilizing armies. FOG GOP It's not fun chasing after some player who runs and hides and hugs walls while you are FOGing. Mobilizing armies is a complete fail. GOP you can afk if you play 50-50. Clan wars and castle wars free for all are fine where people do whatever they like. Stealing creation I could go either way. The more challenging way is fun but if I just want tools the shorter peaceful games are better.
  16. You hate the game, yet you go for the rankings. How is it an achievement to do something you think is crap? !!! We do that all the time on rs becasue we are going for the REWARD. Are u really that dense. The smart people on rs always play the most efficiently. It's much more fun.
  17. The rewards aren't that great, more hype than anything. And the opportunity costs are too high. The high-hitting weapons need to be recharged etc. Hopefully the next batch of rewards will be good.
  18. Not sure if the other people who even posted play FOG. The majority of people playing fog are there to TRAIN MAGIC. They don't CARE about tokens. If paired with someone like you a wall-hugger / hider it is frustarting. In your rant you fail to mention how often the people you are hunting just remain at the center of the game collecting charges. If I was paired up with someone like you I would simply exit. It's an unwritten rule that most players play by where they just go to the middle to speed things up. Try it sometime -.- You still get tokens. I guess it's just my personality but if I"m playing a game and I'm being insulted, then maybe the problem is not other's its you. Try reading a guide or two on how to play FOG and use your observations for how others play. If the person you are hunting directly goes to middle you should as well. Runescape people communicate by insulting you if what you are doing negatively impacts their gameplay. Stop being selfish. And FYI jagex creates mini-games and the way they are actually played by RS players are two different versions. Don't believe the Jagex version of how to play a mini-game.
  19. Why is it that you can't buy tools urself? It takes an insignificant amount of time and the basic tools don't cost that much. Why waste time asking if others brought tools? You should have your own set.
  20. That penalty was always there. The whole point of rushing 5:1 or 3:1 etc. on complexity 1/2/3 is so that you can go on to do proper large 5:5 floors 30+ which ultimately maximizes exp. You can rush f1-f29 using this method in about 2 hours.
  21. Was just double checking for penguins as I know with juna and some quest reward lamps you do need to have a minimum level in the skill you use the lamp for .
  22. If I have level 1 dungeon can I still use penguin points on it? I want to level a secondary account that has 1 dungeon at the moment. But I want to unlock f35 as fast as I can... also what lamps can be used for dungeon if it is low?
  23. Try safespotting any monster. All they will do is simply moonwalk out of the spot, and possibly move out of attacking range. They have lots of offense and defense too. Also, bosses can turn off prayers, do heavy damage, and have some nasty tricks on the spot. The combat level of monsters/bosses in Daemonheim = a player of that combat level. Many monsters do that when you safespot them. Have you ever fought quest bosses? Glod is nearly impossible to kill without high level maging from a safespot (I've only found 1 safespot), Barrelchest there are no safespots and he deactivates prayer, Karil drains stats and thereby food quickly, Inadequacy is very powerful, summons minions, and you can't use prayer (not to mention he's the first of 4 bosses in a row). I could probably go on. Bosses are the same wherever you fight them. That is a good point. He is f2p only. He doesn't know that members monsters can also act like that.
  24. Wow, just wow. Talk about perspectives and playing styles clashing. I've played with numerous bad players who are obnoxious unhelpful know it alls and who just are deadweight. In your post you summarized exactly what these players are like. I am one of those efficiency leaders. I'm there to dungeon. I'm not there to be your "friend". Trust me word of mouth has gotten around to avoid teaming with you. My preferred solution is to directly add bad dungeoners to my ignore list. I don't see the "fun" in doing inefficient dungeons. If you want to do long chill inefficient dungeons or skill in the dungeon find other like-minded players. The simple reason for this is so they can avoid teaming up with people like you. Someone with 90+ dungeon is clearly EFFICIENT and they care about finishing floors fast. These players also are reasonable enough to know that if the leader or a teammate asks for something it's not because someone is nagging you or telling you to do something there is a good reason behind it. These players also tend to work well in groups. They won't get into fights with teammates at the tdrop of a hat. They also won't log out 3/4 of the way into a large dungeon. Oh and btw playing with players who are actually helping makes me the leader relax. Dungeoning with a great team who is in sync and on the ball is fun. I see nothing disrespectful or unfriendly coming from that leader, I only see that from you.
  25. it boils down to efficiency: it takes a ton longer to clear all rooms, but the exp is only slightly higher. you gain less exp per hour killing everything. That's the information that matters to most of your fellow players. In f2p however, it is almost always worth it to do the extra rooms. Here is why. There is an added time to actually finding players for a team and starting a dungeon. In a world where there is no latency in finding teams, there might be instances in large dungeons where those extra rooms might not be worth it. It is in our best interest to reduce that overhead so that we reach a state where xp/dungeon and xp/hour is maximized. The rant here is that when I clearly know where a particular door is and heading toward it, I see "1 minute until end" which really annoys me. Especially when I clearly say "dont end" I think you are confusing opening the extra rooms bonus with the level mod bonus. Level mod is the bonus you get for killing all the monsters. Just opening doors is the room bonus. 99% of team's I've had on f2p waste time clearing rooms of monsters. If it is an alter room clear it. Guardian rooms clear it. Room before the boss clear it. Otherwise just leave rooms uncleared especially dead end rooms. I agree that teaming with strangers can suck. I've also teamed with higher level dungeon players that are clueless about how to play well. I wish there wasn't a penalty for soloing I think most people would choose to solo it.
