  1. Seeing as no one has mentioned this yet, I thought I would. [spoiler=Azzanadra] If you go to the digsite and talk to Azzanadra after the quest, he says several interesting things First of all, He also says he cannot help you with the dragonkin problem until he is done with his currents plans (probably bringing Zaros back to this plane) He doesn’t know that you helped Jhallan hide below the ritual before you tell him (the same with Ali), but he is surprised that someone so short lived should care that he died. Then you tell him how Sliske tried to turn you into one of His Barrows wights, but got one of your friends instead, To me, this last part is the absolute most interesting. He doesn’t say, lose you as an ally (as in Sliske killing you), but losing Sliske as an ally, as in you actually being able to kill him, implying that he think that you killing Sliske is possible. So now we have the possibility of a new quest, finding or luring out Sliske, and killing him.
  2. Have to say it would be nice if it made it easier to get to the mohogany trees. I just hope it doesn't make it harder somehow. But I agree, it looks to me like those are the mohogany trees in Kharasi Jungle. Maybe they are just clear cutting that end corner of the island and putting in the new update? Wouldn't be the most drastic redecorating they ever did. I mean, Witchhaven just apeared out of the ocean one day. :shame: Where is the continuity to that? edit: ick ick ick. I looked at the pictures again and if it really is where i think it is, then that have distroyed my firemaking lines down there. I shall, should this be true, find it iritating. Thats where i get my wc/fm rocks every week, and special logs to make free mohgony planks for my con rock. Sure it's a minor thing, but it does interfear with my habits, lol. Ah well. I'll hope for the best. Might not even be there. Might make better lines. Either way, 10 sec of annoyance and I'll get over it.
  3. maybe this picture will be allowed this guy logged into edge bank while i was there minding my own business. I don't know him in any way. He said he had never botted (i'm ambivilent on whether I believe him). He also said he canceled his membership (he was in edge talking crap forever), and was leaving forever for wow.
  4. Well, shucks. I really liked this tool bar, but I guess Ill probably uninstall it now. Could someone make one that isnt full of trash? Or Im pretty handy, direct me toward a resource that might help me make one? I was actually thinking about instead of having it as a tool bar, just make a webpage I could load that would fetch the info in the set up I wanted, that I could store locally and would fetch the info from Jagex. Well, Ill look into it more latter. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. You got lucky, as this was not my experence with stomp yesterday. For my team, rocks fell in front of the load stones 3 or 4 times, and twice none of us could reach one of the load stones, and another time, our mage could reach a stone, but he couldn't get to either of the crystals to use them.
  6. I like how well organized jagex staff is. 2 hours ago this was posted in my clan's IRC: THANK YOU JAGEX for making me sit around for nothing. It's a photoshop job, if you look the sentence that the JMod supposedly said sits lower than normal (The bottom of each letter isn't aligned with the bottom of the colon like it is normally in game). The letters also stray into where you type :P Bad fake is bad. Before you let the euphoria of new content run away with your reason, you should examine the screen shot with jaded eye. No one but someone who wanted to be fooled would be fooled by that one. If you fell for it, you have no one but yourself to blame. Especially not Jagex (sorry people, but they can't be the scape-goat for everything).
  7. I'm pretty cynical, and I'll be the first to tell you, you don't need to be quite so cynical, it's bad for your health. Just because you can't trust everyone on everything, doesn't mean you can't trust some people on some things. You got burned once, that doesn't mean you should burn all the people that aproch you from now on. Anyway, liked the articles this week. Remember all the bugs from when they happened. Think account sharing (except in very limited instances of emergancies that don't envolve exp gain) is cheating. You should do you're own stuff, and compete with the rest of us on a one to one basis.
  8. I also have a theory that some of the slayers that would normally be bring whips into the game are dungeoneering instead, so there are less whips comming into the game.
  9. I figured out what the logic behind this thread is. Botting helps rich monster hunters by keeping their supplies cheap, so botting is good. Botting hurts skillers, but they are the poor and stupid because they are not monster hunters, so it doesn’t matter. I get it. You much be a monster hunter right! You realize you are avocating stealing from the poor because they are poor?
  10. What I want to know is how does an unfinished modal accidently get released into the game? And for only one hair style? How would at any point something unfinished get uploaded into go into the game? It boggles the mind.
  11. Well the first course of action -if it happens through kids- is for the parents to take contact with the other parents.. Then the other parents should give their child a stern look and it ought to be over! If that doesn't work, the parent of the offended kid should take it to the school, which should take action (maybe add a theme about social interactions to the course), if all that won't work, there is apparantly something much more problematic with the offending kid. (not listening to school & parents, isn't really bright) and some other organization specialized for these types of kids should be mobilized! And don't say me this is a lot of work: most of it goes automatically and really how often do you expect this to happen? A) You have to know who is doing it B) my child is a little angel and would never do such a thing, you horible horible man!!! how do you know my kid!! are you luring him into chat rooms! i'm calling the cops, you pervert C) uh, what if the stalker is a 65 year old man? D) Hahahah!! schools cant even admit to a non-costodial parent that a child even goes to a school. You try telling a school to do something about something that they have no proof of, and happened outside of school. They are far too busy to listen to every nut that calls up and says " you should say something to little jonny, he's theatening me over what we did last night in WOW" They will call the police on you, for even calling up and mentioning a kid and you will have your life torn apart for any sign of impropriaty with minors. This one I really do promise! Anyone who calls up about a kid they have no business knowing about is looked at with suspicion. But seriously, if you try that last one, please post it on youtube for me, I need a good laugh. You really need to leave this perfect little world you've constructed where everyone is good, looks out for each other, and the police and teachers, etc go have "a good little talking to" to everyone who is heading down the wrong path, and convinces the misguided to get back on the path of good behavior, because you have "heroically" brought the problem to their attention, which they greatly apriciate. How would we have saved little Jonny with out you? Edit: Where were you to save Timmy!!! rofl!!!
  12. Yeah it's very unlikely, but there's a good chance that you'd be harassed if you really did things someone didn't like. And besides, all it would take would be one case where someone being hurt was made possible by the information that was "provided" by blizzard and they'd be [bleep]ed as a company. Or at least in quite a bit of trouble. Harrassing someone is a crime! - The goverment should protect it's citizens from this: a simple prosecution by quick-law would be enough.. And as I said it's time that this happens (this can only happen once the internet is considered public though, and for that to happen you also have to have your own ID when coming on the internet and not hiding behind something else.. So we're stuck a bit with the egg-chicken problem) You seem to have an inflated idea of what law inforcement is going to do. They have "real" crimes to tend to, they are not going to spend man-hours because some 14 year old is getting threatening phone calls from some other 14 year old. That's just "kids stuff", not something for police to get involved in. And if they do get involved, say the kid is the child of a school board memeber or something, likely it ruins kid B's life, cause they are going to hit him hard and fast, and he will probably be a really hardened criminal when he gets out of juvie when he's 21. There is no middle ground. And it wont matter what age the people are because its in conection with a "game" which means it's not serious and the police will immediatly scoff it off as childishness. Gaming, after all, is not the adult pasttime of drinking beer and taking pop-shots at the cans. It's like trying to get a restraining order against someone stalking you. You can't get it until they do something too you, and that's the last thing you want to happen, and usually by the time they've done something provable, its too late. If you were a business you can sure get someone in jail for steally a piece of gum, but if you are a citizen, someone paint balls your house, breaks your windows, and distories your flower beds, well, thats just stupid pranks, not worth investigating. It's true, that bad thing wont happen to everyone, but do you really want to be one of the dozen someone does latch on to and stalk? And I promise you, that the police will not help you until it's to late, unless you a very very luck to be "someone" or your police aren't underfunded and over worked, like they are everywhere now-a-days. It's not what police should do, it's about what the police do do. Which often isn't even what they could do, because they often don't take something seriously until it is too late.
  13. yet if someone asks your name and you say another name, you are committing identity fraud! Well, I don't necessarily have to answer them. I can always say "I prefer not to disclose that information". edit: oviously, if it was something that required my name to do, I would choose if giving up my name was worth doing said thing. Like, I don't care enough about posting on WOW forums to have my real name posted (I don't even play), so I wouldn't do that. Other instances, of course, would be different. The answer would be different for different people. It all about what is important to them, and what their toleration/estimation of the risks are.
  14. Your debit card. I kind of like the idea, an MMO isn't a private thing it's a PUBLIC thing. The internet is public and if you can't handle that, it's tough. If you don't want people to know who you really are when you spam, the solution is simply not to spam. I would like that to come to the RS forums. It's not like they'd put your full name in view, it'd be just used for authentication I'd say. At least that's how I'd prefer to have it. The city street is public too. That doesn't mean I walk around with a name tag, and hand out cards with my home adress to every person I met.
  15. Say you get into a debate with someone, and the other person doesnt like your point of view. Look up real name, troll your email, facebook, find where you live, egg you house if he happens to be in your area, etc. Look up their name, call the police. Well, I don't know about where you live, but poice in my corner of the U.S. rarely take stalking as serious as they should, especially among teenagers. Its just "teenager/college student stuff" and they will "get over it". Unless someone has actually assalted you, you stand little chance of anything being done. Even petty vandalism against someones car or egging someones house is just "it's stupid teenage/college student stuff". Hell, even killing someones cat is not "a serious police issue". Then the bully comes back and sues the victims and loses in court but wins in the national media. Gets on Good Morning America. It's a total farce!! (true storry, btw)
  16. It would only take one crazy psychotic morron to make you wish you had hidden... in a bomb proof building.
  17. Delightful. Make it so much easier for online flame wars to become real life threatening situations. I'm all for people taking responsibility for what they post on the internet, but this is dangerous. There is, afterall, a population of people on the internet who are sadly unstable, and it might just start with annoying theatening phonecalls, but people can send bombs through the mail, etc. There is also making false claims of things you did to police and all kinds of trouble people can make for you if they are stupid, imature, and particullarly jerk. wait... that discribes a lot of the people in flame wars. And anyway, how exactly are they going to prove I'm not Osama bin Laden, and how am I going to prove that I am me. Am I going to have to give them my SS#, my driver's number, a copy of my birth certificate, and go to the WOW office near me to have my passport examined? Perhaps fingerprints? DNA sample? This is the internet... If my full name, publicly avalible, was a condition of posting on a forum, I would personally just say no thanks. That's not to say I wouldn't give out my real name on the internet, but I don't just throw it about willy-nilly (as with all my personal details). Anyway, people could piece my life together, if they really cared too, I just don't do anything I don't want to come back to roost. Edit: I hardly belive that they can do this with minors. Aren't what minors are legally allowed to do on the internet curtailed, at least legally-wise in the U.S.? Not that it is every really inforced much, but still. I don't know much anymore as when I was still a minor on the internet, the land was still a wild place, debreft of law and order. (or, at least wilder than it is now)
  18. <crazy late night musings !WARNING!> Ok, I got a quick, benefit of the doubt, on some of the numbers some of the mods are giving us which we pretty much know are bogus at this point. What if they took these number weeks ago, when they were working on the update and finalizing the price, etc. They looked and saw the minimum impact they thought was acceptable, and put the update into the pipeline. Then, the update is leaked, and a bunch of people bought up said boots. So by the time the update actually happened, boots were everywhere and the numbers they had originally used were junk. It doesnt take but one or two clans to find out, and spread it to their sheeple members to get a bunch of boots into the economy. This is just an idea. Some of the mods are full of crap, but some of them I really think are being thrown under the bus, as it were, with numbers and arguments that may have been true at the time they took them. (some of the arguments are just totally non-sense, without a shred of logic though) But is it just me, or is there is something hinky going on behind the façade of Jagex, or are they really well, I dont really want to insult morons. In the end, it doesnt matter what the effect of the update is in a vacuum, it matters what the effect is IN THE GAME. Of course Runescape players were going to freak out. They are Runescape players! Is the sky blue? Is water wet? If they couldnt predict this they need to take their crystal ball in for a tune up. But for employees who talk about how great it is to work there, and how much fun they have, they must have said fun in abject silence, since they have proven time and time again that they NEVER TALK TO EACH OTHER. Im really starting to believe that Jagex, as a company, must be some farcical crack-up. The idea that some mods leaked the update just confirms in my mind that there may be something wrong personal-wise, within Jagex. I wouldnt be surprised to see some quiet exits, but then again, maybe instead of making heads roll, they will promote them instead. Almost nothing would surprise me anymore. Either way, I stopped thinking Jagex had integrity a while ago. </crazy late night musings>
  19. What about all the people who make rs money legitimately, just to find out that their money is nearly worthless because of all the people that botted even more items, pushing down the price of what you collected? What about the people who can't have fun playing the game because there are no green dragons, chaos druids, or chin hunting spots to have fun at? These spots are being taken up by computers that by definition can't have fun. You can not say that botting is a victimless crime. If you are deminishing someone else ability to have fun that is outside of the legal game play, then you are rigging the game and damaging the gaming experience for other players. If the only way you can have fun is to cheat, you should move on to another game.
  20. Im I the only one who thinks that this new bts is much more explicit on what the updates will be than the old one was? When construction came out it was chairs you can sit in. The descriptions of these updates leave less to the imagination. I think I would like a bit more wiggle room for speculation. Like, I don't mind it, but it would be nice if some of the updates were left with clues that are more like the nearly unguessable twitter hints. Not all, just some, to add a little mystery to the month. Though it could be that this months updates just didn't lend themselves to such obfuscation, and so they just spelled them out. Maybe next month. Whatever, bts is back.
  21. w3 p@y w3 s@y@@@@@@@ Do you have to spam up every thread with this? Anyway, I have no idea what update is comming next week, but I am thinking that we are due for the elite diaries. Isn't that one of the last things left from "the list". Either way, I, naturally pesimistic as I am, refuse to be as pesimistic as the rest of you. I think half the reason people aren't liking updates now is that they expect not to like them, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Edit to below: well clearly I had to repeat myself, seeing as it wasn't clear enough the first time...
  22. My kind of topic! Yes! "WE PAY WE SAY" "I WANT TO PK INNOCENT RUNECRAFTERS SO THEY CANT MAKE THE RUNES I BARRAGE THEM WITH OMFG." "OMFG TODAY RUNESCAPE DIED CUZ NOW WE HAVE TO PK IN A CRATER AND NOT IN THE WILDERNESS SAD FACE" And double weilding wouldn't be over powered if they added in a huge defence negitive. Like, most of the time your defence was normal, but it you got hit, you got hit hard because you have no sheild to block. That would be sort of like it would be in real life. If you were good, most of the time you would deflect with your other blade, but if someone got past your guard, that would be able to hit you for lots of pain. Sort of a negitive weapon special, like a barrow set effect.
  23. i don't think botting is wrong That's why there has to be rules: to inforce a basic code of conduct on everyone. People cant be trusted to behave otherwise.
  24. But think of the possibilities of being ambidextrous! Double crossbow bolt barrage, anyone? DOUBLE DDS SPEC OMFG NEW CLAWS. DOUBLE WHIPS OMFG. DOUBLE SHIELDS OMFG. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! Double elemental staves! Steam in one hand, lava in the other! Now that's just crazy talk. Anyway, I'm done with this thread. Stupid thread is stupid. There are no stupid threads, only stupid people in them... Anyway, I think some limited ability to double wield weapons would be neat. Especially if it came with some ninja type skills! Stealth skill!! Hear me Jagex!! WORK ON ALLOWING US TO BE NINJAS!! I WANT TO BE STEALTHY!! AND DANGEROUS!!
  25. Hold Conversations? Isnt that one of the major problems and area of research in AI? Robots or computer programmes are unable to seem human and have conversations that are convincing. I dont think Bots in Runescape are going to be capable of doing this. Try it. http://alice.pandorabots.com/ just spent 10 minutes talking to alice. guilty. Nearly every person I talk to on RS must be bot!! This is just about the slightly nonsensical converstation I get out of every single person I try to talk to!!! And here I was just thinking that they were kids who were nearly iliterate, or people who only spoke English as a second language. OK, so that was a bit of hyperbole on my part, but still... crazy.
