So microsoft was going to give me a $2500 debit card to live for my summer internship. I got it in the mail today, along with 3 other ones. It's so tempting to keep 10k, but I don't want to loose my job :(

I spent money on the game for the first time today and bought the Aatrox bundle, he's pretty fun :)

The not pumping gas one is almost as bad as the one here in Fargo - any business can't be open until noon on Sundays, because of an old religious law. The only things open are gas stations, everything else has to close by midnight on Saturday.
  5. I moved, so I didn't have internet for a week. I just got it back tonight. I thought watching the latest Game of Thrones episode would be a good idea. Now I don't want the internet anymore and I want it all to go away :( :( :(

Depending on the field, this is true. In science/engineering, it is much better to have a degree. Although, you need work experience too, like internships or research at university. Neither are insanely hard to get, as long as you have at least a 2.5 GPA.

Actually, on the Minneapolis Craigslist, I see lots of posts in software/qa/DNA that say you don't need a bachelors as long as you can demonstrate the experience, for entry level jobs. They're still 50k+ a year. Not as good as the 90k+ at Microsoft/amazon/etc, but still good for no college. Also, I started at target stocking shelves, if it makes a difference. I also worked sales floor and electronics.

In a world where I've been going to a large university that is among the best in the nation for computer science since I was 15, with work as a software engineer at another fortune 50 company for a year. Age isn't everything. Drive and ambition to get a college education leads to better jobs than age ever will. Anyways, I've been told I'm going to have a team of two other interns. I'll work with people in Seattle, Dublin, and Hyderabad. About interns sucking, that's not true in my case. In my last one (Supervalu, software engineer), it was one of the best experiences I've had. I learned a ton, my projects saved the company over a million dollars, and I had fun. Microsoft has the best internship program in the country, so I'm not worried about it sucking. It's not Xbox or Windows 8 I get to work on, but it will still be fun.

What part of Microsoft are you interning for? Enterprise Commerce. I'm not sure exactly what I'll be doing yet, but I'm a Project Manager.

I start my internship at Microsoft tomorrow morning, I'm starting to get nervous.

We can't contain our excitement, that sounds seriously wild. I personally can't wait until 25/26 June.
  12. Awesome, thanks guys.
  13. So what's the price of Drygores like right now? Rapiers in particular. Are they actually better after the fix?

I always called it the McChubble, also kept pickles and mayo. Here, it's like 2.89 for both.
  15. A lot for me. I used to have a Macbook pro, when they were a bit heavier. I would rather leave it at home and go to one of the labs, then have to carry it around. I have to walk/bike 2 or 3 miles a day though, and with other books and stuff, it made a difference. This post made me inadvertently contribute to the Mac vs PC argument :P

Nope, it is most definitely University of Minnesota.
  17. Well, back on topic... If you want a little more portability, look at the U series. I have a U410, with an i7 (the ULV one though), 8gb ram, 1tb hard drive and 32gb ssd. It's only 4 pounds. You can't get another ultra book for that price, with those specs. It's not as thin and light as other ultrabooks, but it has more power.
  18. You can get to lvl 5 in f2p in all skills now.
  19. On mine, I can't see it at all. The only way I can is if I highlight the whole page.
  20. I have failed 5 trio story missions >.> 4 of the 50 chi one, 1 of the pre-50 plate ones...
  21. Oh yeah, I was still considering resources as I'm not maxed yet :P
  22. Even if it did, the merchant boosts by 30%, so it would still be worthwhile.
  23. Thanks :) Lots of QBD! Got a DIY Royal Crossbow. The only drop I haven't gotten is the kite. [hide] [/hide]
