I only enjoy BTS videos so that I can do stuff like this. -
So it seems like the season finale will end with: [spoiler=Massive book spoilers for A Storm of Swords] Joffery's death, Sansa being stolen away by Baelish, Jon becoming Lord Commander and killing Ygritte, and Arya sailing to Braavos. Dunno, thoughts?

Jagex patched random events to give you rewards for any type instead of only those you didn't max. By exploiting that mechanic before it was fixed, that's how Woox got max distance so quick. So I don't think it works that way anymore. :s But yes it definitely used to work in that fashion. -

Oh, it looks like my lucky bandos boots have become a discontinued item for now then. -
I can only imagine that most of their feedback comes from people who do group activities more than solo, and no doubt that would benefit them more than soloers. Bah. Before this update I was getting used to DKs using your guide. It was a wonderful resource and I hope they revert this soon.

Dat little wiggle at the end, doe. E: Yes it's a companion pet. It doesn't get sent to your bank. -
All it takes is a few snipers to swap to EoC mode and they'll ruin the whole fight. Remember fighting crappy country clans who never followed the rules of a fight and eventually you just had to resort to the same dirty tactics to even get a postable win? If the thing they have to resort to is EoC combat, they'll never come back. They'll stay on OSRS, where they know that even though rulebreakers and crashers will mess up a fight, they at least won't have to worry about people switching to single-way and abusing AoEs. All this will ensure is that clans stay on OSRS, not encourage the opposite.

It's a little too late to worry about splitting the community when you're trying to combine two incompatible styles of combat into the same game that will require constant balance. The community has been split for a very long time, and this won't rejoin them because it's simply impossible to make your game a hybrid that pleases everyone. You'll just have a hybrid game at the end of all this that barely pleases the majority of 51% and pisses off the remaining 49%, leaving you right back in the same exact place you are now. This is a waste of time. Why on earth would anyone want this? Why on earth, after what was done in the not-so-distant-past, would anyone trust them to get it right? Why on earth would anyone believe this would change anything for the better? I'm seeing foolish idea after foolish idea voted and discussed because of this voting system and things falling to the wayside when they shouldn't. The devs minds are like a pendulum that swings from one extreme to another, with never listening to taking every whim that people spit out. I don't get it. I really don't. The blame will be there and instead it will be directed at the community at the time in addition to Jagex, rather than one or the other. At the end of this Year of the Player movement, we'll be exactly where we started: a messed up game, a spiteful community, and - surprise surprise - an overwhelmingly large portion of the playerbase against the actions taken with a "compromise period" to follow. I hate this. It's such a depressing thing to see.

Either would work honestly, though I imagine they'd rather it be plate to increase the cost of it. -

It doesn't quite make sense that they're attracted to the Ava's gear when they have no metal in them...Sure it'd be annoying, but why not replace shards with plate instead? Then at least it makes sense, both with Ava's and with the ports lore. (Since, as someone pointed out earlier, the Ascension race was created here in Gielinor and not the East...) Still, that's just nitpicking. The changes to them are amazing and it makes me regret I didn't unlock darts sooner! -
The past few months have been nothing but high level updates. At least there's something useful to this that can benefit everyone (the thing that wipe DOT effects) so that's cool. I mean it's pretty neat for low levels. think it's only if you have fally shield 4 :P sorry fork Not any more.

I don't see the point of presets unless they're presets we could set and name under the gear ribbon. And even then, that wouldn't really be as useful as just adding more actionbars. I love that they did ability queuing. What a shame we have to wait until it comes out in order to see it in the live game. The special attacks are just like special thresholds. I don't really see the point in them yet, but maybe that's because I haven't tried them in PVP. The removal of weapon switching cooldowns is pretty neat though.
-
There's nothing to downplay because they haven't started anything. They've been on the "what do you want in the city" stage since runefest and with how they've repeatedly asked the same questions over and over, it's pretty much like they haven't listened aside from "okay now it will require a grandmaster quest" - a decision that most certainly didn't need 3 months of players shouting "THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO NOT REQUIRE MOURNING'S END 3" to make. Does that mean they're going to botch it? No not at all. But how can you even say there's been an "awesome start" when nothing has started at all except the ONE THING that shouldn't have required a deliberation and change to begin with (quest req)? I eagerly await Elf City but c'mon.

Blerg update. Unexpected 99 slayer, go! I wasn't paying attention to how much exp left until 99. I had hoped to get 99 con and slayer at the same time, but that's out the window now. RIP. The task I got 99 slayer on yielded this: Which now puts me at 46m/93m for rebuying my mainhand drygore. The next task I got? Black dragons. WOOT! :D Money here I come. Hopefully it will be another 15mil+ to add to the cashpile. Capes are sexy, yo. And last, the two effigies I got granted me the following levels: So yep. Runescape.

Jan 21st 2014 - Slayer Helmet and Social Slayer update
Kimberly posted a topic in General Discussion
Slayer Helmet and Social Slayer Update Members only The Slayer Rewards Store is now accessible to all slayers and is packed with new rewards: stat boosts and new teleportation options for the full slayer helmet; ways for social slayers to share teleports and protective gear; and a new pet! These are just some of the upgrades we've introduced today, based on your feedback. Read on for full details, or jump into game and play now! Slayer Rewards Store First up, you no longer need to have completed Smoking Kills to earn slayer points or access the Slayer Rewards Store. Every slayer now has access to the useful items and assignment management options available there, purchasable with points earned with each assignment completed. If you've not taken a look before, right-click on any slayer master and click 'rewards' to do so. Smoking Kills is still required for some of the store's best rewards, though. You must still complete it before you can unlock the ability to make or upgrade slayer helmets. Also, until you complete the quest, you will only receive half the full amount of slayer points per assignment. Note that all rewards listed in this post are unlocked via the Slayer Rewards Store. Slayer Helmet The full slayer helmet is essential kit for all serious slayers, combining much of the specialist equipment needed to combat Gielinor's nastiest beasts with a damage and accuracy boost to your current mark. Today, it receives a well-deserved upgrade. Firstly, its base stats have been increased slightly. It now has armour and life points equivalent to an all-style level 10 item. Its 12.5% damage and accuracy boost against your currently assigned target remains. There are also three new options to upgrade it, unlockable through the Slayer Rewards Store. Each upgrade tier boosts the helmet's stats, bringing it in line with level 30, 50 and 70 gear, as well as boosting its damage and accuracy bonus each time - up to a total of 14% at the highest tier. The number of summoning scrolls that an enchanted slayer can hold also increases with each tier - up to 500 scrolls at the highest. Note that each tier must be unlocked consecutively, and has a Defence level requirement appropriate to its stats. Those of you with level 60 Crafting can also unlock the ability to fuse rings of slaying and ferocious rings to a full slayer helmet or its upgraded versions, granting the rings' teleportation abilities to the helmet. Once you've fused a ring to a full slayer helmet, you can add more rings to replenish the charges - up to 40 from rings of slaying and 30 from ferocious rings. Last, but not least, full and upgraded slayer helmets now enjoy the same functions as the enchanted gem given out by slayer masters, so it's more convenient to check your kills and contact your slayer master on the fly. Social Slayer There are some new rewards for social slayers too. Pairing up with a buddy on a slayer trip to earn some co-op points is more beneficial and rewarding than ever. Take a look at the Social Slayer tab in the Slayer Rewards Store for ways to spend your points. You can unlock the ability to share teleports from the ring of slaying and ferocious ring (and from fused slayer helmets, of course) with your partner. Use one of these teleports while you're in a social slayer group and your partner will be prompted with the option to follow you. There's also the ability to share the benefits of protective slayer gear, meaning only one of you has to carry this essential kit. Note that your partner must meet any skill requirements of the equipment before they can benefit from it. You can also use your co-op points on recharges of rings of slaying, ferocious rings or fused slayer helmets. This is a great way to use up any spare points. Finally, there's a super-cute new ganodermic runt pet to unlock, as well as new skins for Freezy the strykewyrm. Go Forth and Slay! We hope that today's updates make the Slayer skill more accessible, and even more fun to train. Many of these suggestions came from the forums and - as always - we need your feedback to keep improving the game. Any ideas? Let us know in the Suggestions forum. Mod Ana and the RuneScape Team How to Start: If you haven't trained Slayer before, speak to Turael in Taverley for the basics. Access the Slayer Rewards Store by right-clicking any slayer master and selecting 'rewards'. Invite a friend to a social slayer group by using a ring of slaying or an enchanted gem on them, or by right-clicking on a ring of slaying, enchanted gem or fused slayer helmet. Requirements: You must be a RuneScape member.Smoking Kills is required to create or upgrade slayer helmets.55 Crafting is required to create or upgrade slayer helmets.60 Crafting is required to fuse rings to slayer helmets. In Other News The Bird and the Beast world event has ended, with the forces of Armadyl victorious! Claim your remaining rewards from the faction quartermasters, and speak to Goutbones at Bandos's tower to replay the event's cutscenes. If you've missed the armour, it can be obtained as rare drops from minions of Armadyl and Bandos in the God Wars Dungeon, and the combat abilities can be claimed as rare drops from Kree'arra and General Graardor. The Snapshot ability has had its damage updated. The first shot will deal 100-120% weapon damage (up from 33%-100%) and the second shot will deal 100-210% weapon damage (up from 33%-100%). 11-Dec-2013 - The Bird and the Beast (World Event 2)
Kimberly replied to Ned's topic in General Discussion
I had both a maxed combat and a low level account as members for a brief period of time. I would have never participated in the event at all if it weren't for scaled combat (as a new player). The theory of scaled combat is great -- you should be using better techniques to knock out your opponent, not necessarily better gear. I've won a few battles against people who simply thought their ports armor would make them untouchable, and I'm a very inexperienced pker. It's beautiful to see a person who not only has great gear, but knows PvP. Those are the truly fun fights, the ones I don't mind losing. The game needs those sorts of people to teach inexperienced generations. I know it has its bad moments, where things aren't truly scaled. We were used as a guinea pig (again) to test out the system that got very little tweaks to actual scaling itself throughout the event. But by and large it was a success. -
Ambler3's Blog- [VITALIS DROP!!] :D
Kimberly replied to Ambler's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
If you're making a drop logger I'd consider doing away with radio buttons and instead make the drop itself a clickable square. Nex has a lot of time between kills yeah but assuming you're going to use this as a basis for other monsters, they might not. Trying to click a tiny button as opposed to a 40x40 square is more time consuming you know? IDK just a thought. -
You were a member though yeah? Old membership purchase information should be more than enough.
-
Yeah, unfortunately the information from back then was made public. It's not impossible that those responsible were also forum users here, but unlikely since there were specific individuals at the time that targeted multiple fansites back then. If you email [email protected] and provide information that proves ownership you might get a fast response and your account locked down.

Users in South America have the bar from the Axeos5 company across their screen when they visit the RS website. You have to make an account there to play RS if you're from that area. It's kinda weird and I know a lot of people fromm there use a proxy to get around it, since it shows up even if you view the english webpage apparently.
