Yet Another Website
Right now there isn't much 'website' to speak of but the splash page you have on your website is cute. I love the cartoony, silly style. When do you plan on adding content or improving upon the template at least? But of course you know that already...hi Veiva, I miss you!

TIF is bit over-moderated
Since I would like to assume that you and I are both pretty involved in runescape (though I will cede that you probably know a lot more about some things than I do) I think it's safe to say that Jagex contradicts themselves...I mean, a lot. And it's caused a whole mess of problems, from anywhere to a Jmod stupidly saying that cat medals would be untradable (happened a few years ago) to this debacle. As pointed out by another user, they're constantly revising their stance on 3rd party clients, often in such foggy manners that make it hard to keep up, admittedly. But not only have we received a direct response saying that this situation against the rules, we already have an existing statement by Mod Mark L that has some aspects that does apply to this situation and some that don't. Then we have another post from a third party saying it's against the rules, and none of us, users and staff, have the access to the information to either disprove or prove anything that's going on. So that's why Tip.it's administration is attempting to get an official statement through from Jagex. I don't understand how this translates into a 'lack of ability to think critically'--if anything, I would hope this speaks more of trying to do right by you guys than serving our own needs. It's not as if we've got these people at knifepoint going, "OI! Give me the answers I want or I'mma cut you, [bleep]!" And honestly, continually barraging the staff is not going to help the situation....instead all it will do is continue to foster the apparent 'bad blood' between everyone. Now I don't know about you guys, but I'm freaking tired of hashing over the same crap every day. I'm sure you guys are too. We've laid out what we're trying to do to verify this (contacting Jagex), what we're doing to work with TEF's admins (Tripsis is PM'ing the admins we know of and I requested of Cheezedude to give any more names to add to that list), and how we will be addressing this in the meantime (removing the links, which is a temporary measure given how the admin discussion goes). I've seen Michael post that he's willing to remove them if its shown to be against the rules, which is what we're trying to do. And we're trying to give as much information as possible as this situation develops. Let's stop the bashing now, because I've seen people associated with TEF give great feedback (Nifflin, muuuuu, etc). That's the sort of information we're looking for in the meantime. If we're going to improve the community, but we can't see what needs improving, that's where we rely on the users to help see what we might miss. And if you're not interested in doing that in this thread then you're only wasting your own time by posting. :/ tldr: The issues brought up are being addressed, it's going to take time. This link removal business is hopefully only a temporary measure, and we're not actively seeking to cut anyone off from their community. Please help contribute to this topic with some feedback we can actually use, because I think that's what everyone's really interested in.

Well I think it's also going to be sent to Rocked. Do you know of any other admins that aren't busy right now? I'm sure it would be no problem to add them to the conversation as well! EDIT: Grats on graduating, that's pretty cool Grimy.

Feedback: Bot Threads in General Discussion
It has since worked fine in the F2P General Discussion thread, the 200M in all skills? thread, 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion thread, the Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!, and so on. All the more reason to trial a central place to discuss it and see if the community is more receptive to it. Because isn't the hostility and the posts that toe the line for removal more damaging to discussion, in the end? Personally I think it is. That's simply untrue, and proven as such by the previous examples listed. There is a historical precedence to support at least trying this. And if it does start to hamper discussion, there are two large chunks of time to compare it to (ie a month before the condensing, and a month after condensing) to see if there has been any decline in deep discussion. I don't see the activity of General Discussion decreasing at all as a result of trying anything different to how we are now. But if there was, that again is easy to see and all the more reason to revert such a change if need be. I personally don't see it as a lazy way, easy way, or anything of the sort...just an attempt to see what the community wants in order to make it the best place it can be. A poll is not a concrete 100% decider for what action will be taken. Like this discussion, it's simply another piece of information to help the staff weigh in on a decision. And a detailed discussion, such as the one we're having now, is (in my eyes) x10 more valuable and has a greater impact on decisions than simple numbers alone. I REALLY hope that people aren't avoiding discussion because they feel the outcome is already definite! That's certainly not the case. The more people who post, the better in this case!

TIF is bit over-moderated
Well I think that's why Tripsis eventually contacted TheAncient (and now if not soon to be Rocked and Grimy), to start sorting these things out. Clearly I can't speak for everyone but prior to the registration restrictions, I enjoyed reading about the potential research topics and so on. I wasn't 'camping' at all, merely following the interesting work. It's again indicating a sort of vendetta. And I can see, via Nifflin's feedback, where it might seem like that, what with the link removal, but that's a policy that will hopefully be shored up and made more clear within a reasonable timeframe. I will say now that I'm afraid to register on your forums to read the great work done there, because it seems as one negative action is tarnishing the whole staff...and that's not something I'm willing to do, as much as I'd love to be able to view your community, speaking as a user and not a staff member.

TIF is bit over-moderated
Well, no. The way you've worded it kind of assumes that we've gone on a wing and a prayer and our own personal vendetta. :P However, no staff would've removed these things without verification first. It wasn't something done lightly. And I'll direct you to: Which we (supers and under) found out through the admins, hence why the rest of the staff has taken action on these links. Believe it or not the staff is interested in maintaining a level of quality, and we do care about users...regardless of whether or not they've built their own forum elsewhere, or a castle, or a Black Panther rebel group what have you. And we do appreciate feedback. But in this case, there's nothing we can do. Again, it's an issue better suited in being taken up with Jagex directly. EDIT: Rereading the posts down below, it seems like there's a large issue in how this is explained rather than whether or not it violates the rules. The ambiguity and facts will be shored up and more clearly explained if future incidents occur. Thanks for the feedback regarding it, though it was a little painful to decipher. XD But as far as removing the links to the site that hosts these scripts in question, they will sadly still be removed while the admins of both TIF and TEF work it out.

TIF is bit over-moderated
By my understanding of a touchscreen emulating script and the posts here explaining in detail the actions performed, I would have to say that using it could endanger your account of being banned, temporarily or otherwise. (In-game, of course.) I do not claim to be an expert in its usage, only the guidelines that have been outlined for staff to follow and the understanding of the (summary in this case) rules as laid out by Jagex indicate that references to said script would be best removed. E: Fixed an incomplete sentence, d'oh.
-
TIF is bit over-moderated
I see that as more of an issue with Jagex who has not maintained their standards with current technology rather than Tip.it's. If a fansite chooses to enforce the rules of the game it's about, if the rules of the game have not changed to meet current standards of technology and people are still actively punished for such things, and if they choose to do so out of the interest of protecting their users I don't see much of an alternative in this situation, as sad as that is. While a script like this might have legitimate uses as you've described, it can still be used to break the rules. That seems to be the line that Jagex has drawn, and in the interest of the community that both users and staff work together to maintain, it seems to be the line we must follow as well.

Feedback: Bot Threads in General Discussion
I mean the obvious botting threads or posts that have been plauging users for months at a time. (and more, I just can't be bothered to fit them all into a witty demonstrative sentence) Just because they don't bother you in particular does not mean it's responsible to ignore the extremely large amount of users irritated by this occurance. And mind you, this was from the general discussion forum alone. These debates have been spilling all across the Runescape section. Having a concentrated thread to direct discussion to enables the staff to better manage this hydra-like trend and help a large portion of the community unhappy with this trend enjoy the board more. And the more people enjoy the environment, the better the posting environment will be for everyone. So everyone profits. Not just those who are unhappy with things as they stand. There is no reason not to try this method, especially when it's so easily reversed as saying, "you're no longer restricted to just one thread" if it doesn't happen to work out.

TIF is bit over-moderated
So this is saying it's ok to be posting botting scripts as long as there's a disclaimer telling people they have to make them 1:1 themselves? That's like directing someone to a RWT site, telling them how to use it, and then saying they can't pay for gold as it doesn't fit within Jagex's rules. do you even understand what a bot is my god you people are idiots are incredibly difficult to deal with when it comes to rules. To be fair, 'bot' and 'macro' are used almost interchangeable these days, as people generally associate it with the same things. I'm sure we can understand that and refrain from insulting each other, or being unnecessarily rude, from both staff and users. It's like when people say NIC cards or integrated graphics cards. I don't think it's meant to come across as bias or prejudice, but that is a very good point (honestly the type I wish was more present on this thread) and probably could be taken into consideration for possible revision on how we handle things like this. I'm sure someone like a more experienced Super or possibly an Admin can give more insight on this in the meantime though.

Feedback: Bot Threads in General Discussion
This is my exact same feelings and I couldn't agree more. A prime example of this is just how many introduction topics we see from new users who don't notice the sticky. Exactly my opinion, completely unfair to force people to discuss it in a thread that's going to simply get overlooked in time...All because a handful of people dislike having to read the other threads (As if they are being forced to read them...!). I think it's a poor way to go about doing things. Give people an inch and they'll take a yard. What exactly is the 'varied opinions' that you'd see put together in one thread as being unfair? If you look at any thread, part of discussion, blog post, or ANYTHING bringing up botting it's either ranting about them, discussing ethics, or discussing their effects on the economy. There's a new sticky about ranting about bots in the Rants forum and the other two subjects primarily discussed can most certainly be contained in one thread without hampering discussion. Just look at the "200M in All Skills?" thread. Discussion progresses perfectly there when the thread is maintained and discusses three varied topics all in one neat spot. The thing about having it all in one concentrated spot is botting is a hot-button issue at this point and time. You are going to see a myriad of threads that are constantly being posted over every tiny facet of discussion that just barely counts for its own topic if this continues as it is. They will continually push down other topics with broad discussion because of everyone reiterating the exact same thing they've already said elsewhere just to feel justified. Now that is not fair to users who are out for a rich and mature discussion, if you ask me. EDIT: These are my personal opinions as a user and not my opinion as a staff member, yada yada you know the drill.

Summer
A large portion of the clan community's userbase comes from younger teens. In the US, most teens are off for the majority of the summer. This gives them more free time to be online, which generally attributes to an increase in activity between PST through EST timezones, whereas GMTers usually maintain the same level of activity due to year-round schooling (with breaks every few months.) E: Uffan go throw a basketball or something.

200M in all Skills
[hide] ^ I hope that caught your attention. Due to the overwhelming amount of posts requiring moderator attention, this thread will be temporarily locked while the topic is cleaned. This thread will be back up shortly. :) Please do not repost the thread in the meantime, as it only creates more work to merge the posts into this thread. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, and thanks for the patience. :geek:[/hide] Welcome back! I'd like to ask the regulars of this thread to please bear in mind the following: 1) Don't feed the troll; please report posts of users who are disrupting the flow of conversation. The more detail provided in a report = the faster action can be taken. 2) This thread over time has become a place for discussing not only statistical contenders, but methodology for obtaining that elusive 200mil. As such, please take care to make sure that the information you present is accurate. 3) Opinions on player progress are wonderful! It keeps the thread alive. However it becomes a problem when people insist that their opinions are fact, when it's all very unclear now. Many of the top users have a very, very long way to go to the finish line and it's anyone's race, so to speak. So please keep an open mind when discussing and debate ideas rather than attacking the person behind them. Thanks. Happy posting.

Runescape Papercrafts
Your talent alone with manipulating those two programs is breathtaking enough, but then you've got the dexterity and patience to later build them. It's really impressive! o_o

Pest Control Douchebags
It's pretty frustrating, and you can't even fully escape it by joining a pc'ing clan. Though, it does help a little.

Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.
First post states that the only hard-definite requirement is 45 def for a SSH, and the higher your DG level the easier it will be for you to get a team. If I've read it correctly. XD

semi-tradable items
My knee-jerk reaction when reading the topic title was, "God no!" but later when I see you talk about adding more requirements so that no one can simply buy them outright without putting the work into it first...I'm okay with it. I actually think it's a decent idea. It won't solve ALL problems with untradables (ololol serum 203) but it'd really be nice.

Mass Effect Thread
They basically did it because the holiday season release is extremely cutthroat and there isn't enough hype for it to get as many sales as it normally would. I'm not amused really, but I understand why. Just...don't wish I had to wait just so they can line their pockets a bit more >_>
