  1. So they stop talking to you while hooking up with you? That sounds like some sort of godmode cheat and I'm sure players everywhere would like the code.
  2. I'm still waiting for someone to claim the Obama Administration held him captive to use his death as a publicity chip. It will happen as surely as someone will incorrectly invoke Godwin's Law.
  3. You've already been friendzoned.
  4. I was actually just about to say, "I wonder who will ask that question first?"
  5. Please bear in mind that the OP is asking for information on the problems presented. Bringing in accusations will be fruitless arguing because nothing can be verified and off-topic conversations will be removed since they're not helping the topic creator. If you have issues with users, please PM an Administrator as this will be the most direct route for action to be taken if offenses are truly being committed. Thanks
  6. Lady_Ninane was created in classic and transferred to RS2. A few years after that, I lost access because I didn't log on. Furthermore when I went to 'recreate' my account on classic during the reopening period, all my stats were wiped clean. Are you sure they didn't remove access after a time? Because I didn't have it for a long period. EDIT: Here, this is the time period I'm talking about: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Runescape_Classic That is when I lost my access to RSC. Between 2006 and 2009 I could not access Classic despite transferring my account from it. If they did not reopen classic like they did, I would've never been able to access the Classic cape even though I should have been able to.
  7. Out of curiousity, do those affected by this still have to resubmit their CC info in order to use the free trials offered? Because if so, that's hilarious. I'd buy a disposable visa giftcard just to take advantage of it, because hell, it's free. But I would never entrust them with personal information again unless they provide sufficient proof that they're not just screwing around with sensitive information and storing them in freaking PLAIN TEXT.
  8. I agree that it's silly to say that one would stick with a job because of their coworkers or other things like that, but I think the author was driving more at the thought of complacency, albeit poorly explained. And I guess if you look at in that light, the comparison to why someone would stay in a dead end job to why someone still plays runescape doesn't make sense. I guess I wasn't reading very critically, hah!
  9. Can you give the name of your pure/show its stats, so we can give you better advice? Also, what steps have you taken in recovering your hacked account? Are you sure it's a lost cause? Maybe there's another avenue that we can suggest that you haven't explored yet. You never know ;)
  10. So do you mean to say that the friends you've met through the game, regardless if you're playing currently or not, are not a lasting effect brought about through the game?
  11. While it might be hard to quantify it, assuming a person still playing isn't addicted, it could be an outlet for tension and stress, which is an extremely positive thing to have in one's life. The issue is though that most people can't tell the difference between unwinding and addiction, and that's the point where it harms them. That's the point where acheivements of any kind become meaningless, and they should quit, but can seldom see that when it first happens.
  12. The Run! Escape! article confused me for a brief moment. I actually got the impression that the premise of the article was about why or why not you should quit, when really it was more about personal satisfaction versus modern-day achievements. I read through it twice just to make sure I finally got it XD Maybe if the first two paragraphs were combined & streamlined, this would've been less of an issue, but that's really getting into nitpicking. It was an enjoyable read overall. :)
  13. That's bizarre, how would they have got your IP? It seems virtually impossible. What made you think it was different than your average dc? This is a nice looking blog, it really makes me envious and want to try staking myself. (I also want steak now...)
  14. That's a fair point, but to play devil's advocate a bit...I played during classic, yet lost my access prior to the reopening of it because I forgot to log in regularly. If I had lost access, assuming we're going on the same mechanics that determine who gets the cape now, I wouldn't have qualified for it regardless if I played back then. So I'm pretty happy that this is how they're determining eligibility, I'm very proud that I played since the classic time. :)
  15. I can understand temporarily removing that rejoin feature for all clan chats if there was a bug that would've held it back from being released...but it's been nearly 3 weeks now. It should be back by now! :$
  16. Or if you run Windows 7 there are several timer applications available on microsoft's website.
  17. This is one of those things that you can't appreciate it unless you're doing it often, yet when you are you want to yell at the top of your lungs, "SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN ALREADY, UGH!" This is one of those nice usability updates that I'd love to see happen XD
  18. Effigies, PC points, other minigame rewards, exchanging dging tokens for exp, brawlers... I guess I should be shocked because it's the equivalent of what, 6 99's? But I can't find it in me to get all excited about it, because they'll likely be banned for 'bug abusing' regardless if it was obtained legitimately. Just like those top-level DG'ers who were banned because they were so good at gaining exp that Jagex didn't think it was possible. (They later unbanned them, apologized, and credited their accounts with membership, but lol.)
  19. What were people expecting exactly, a magical faerie to follow you around and [cabbage] rainbows while stroking your ego by proclaiming "THIS USER IS THE BEST OF ALL OF RUNESCAPE!" It looks as un-clothlike as all the other capes, sure, but I wasn't expecting anything else. I actually think the design looks nice, honestly. >_>
  20. Kimberly replied to Vio's topic in Rants
I've gotten better at not doing the jerk-y corrections of people's spelling (a little, anyway!) but I still have to confess: the whole reason why I clicked this topic in the first place was because of the misspelled "your" and I wanted to rage.
  21. So concerned with protecting his kids, unless they're completely safe with effing guns....*facepalm* I think that quote had less to do with their kids owning a desert eagle and more to do with the age required to obtain one...
  22. Talk with your guidance counsellor. Really talk with them. Go in there with straight-to-the-point questions, ask about internship opportunities, feasibility questions, etc. And talk with your programming teachers, too, since they've been in your shoes. Find out what they did right (or wrong) and, more importantly, if they're willing to write you references. Don't really know your teachers that well? Get to know them. And maybe most importantly...MIT is a nice goal to have but it would be terrible to put in all that hard work just to find out that maybe it's not for you, or you can't afford it. Consider going to community college for a year or two and transferring in not only to save money--although that's really nice too--but to make sure you're really doing what you want to do. EDIT: I don't know if this is the best advice to give but I certainly know that these were bits of information that someone told me before I went into college...
  23. rune-tips.net has some decent beginning flipper's guides. You'll learn the fastest from just getting out there and trying it though, studying graphs/anticipating increase in quantity demanded, etc.
  24. That All 80+ lvls achievement cape will look mighty nice on you when they're released :) Congratulations!
