You're not describing issues that stem from the game itself but the community. If that pathetic attitude you described in EoCscape was exclusive to that game, we would've never seen people trade EOC gp for 07 gp, for one thing. Another point is that goldsellers swiftly started to show up because there was a clear market looking for easy gold, people who were willing to pay for it. Last, flowergame gambling was in place within the first week as people had started to accumulate 1m gp through various gold-generating things like thieving. Your overall point is correct, the obnoxious attitude isn't exclusive to pkers. I just think you should've expanded that logic to encompass the 07 community vs the EoC community as well since it seems odd to selectively apply that reasoning.

What's wrong with him being upset? If he's not using autotypers and he's a legit host, he's got every reason to be upset. Any sort of update regarding gambling should have come with a rule change or announcement so people can be warned. I think it's a little asinine to try to [bleep] your way into getting free membership because of it though - it's not as if you've been denied the ability to play the game.

Why would you say that? Basically what Pengouin said, anybody knows you're not supposed to use long combos when movement is crucial. You have it at Nex (as well as DoT), you have it when dungeoneering on several bosses, you have it when meleeing strykes probably, there's KK... movement has been critical to combat for a long time, pre-EoC and post. Well to be blunt, no shit. Except it shouldn't have those delays. And even putting ability intended delay aside, there's a game delay they can never escape due to ticks which diminishes realtime reactions. I wouldn't say Gollevus was wholly wrong.

In his defense, some abilities have a long duration to complete before you can move your character. Off the top of my head some ultimates and range-basics come to mind. I don't think you get hurt during those pauses though? If you do, I'd definitely understand the frustration.

I can confirm that. Also when you and generators use long range atacks you don't need to avoid their special atack. Isn't this new slayer dungeon for rangers mentioned by jagex? I don't think so. I think we still hae that to look forward to in the coming months. Speaking of, I seem to be struggling to kill more than 10 a trip. IT feels so slow when I try to kill them. Are there any particular abilities that affect defense that I should be using to speed things along?

This situation was an utter mess and you can either blame Jagex for it or accept they had very little latitude to work within. That all boils down to opinion, and that's well and good to debate...but you can't blatantly deny the reality of the situation altogether. (Well I mean you could, but that would be very foolish.)

You would still have a league of content to follow that wouldn't be grandmaster or higher involving the 6th age and no way to explain it. They really did have no choice. The rising progression of requirements would've dictated that all others to follow would require that quest...unless they lowered it so that others could play it. We've got a slew of paradoxes to come because of the poor setup they had for the past. I guess they never thought the game would last long enough to see another Age. It's still sloppy as hell but they made the bed and now they're laying in it. At least they're making the laying in it interesting though.

You're right in your reasoning. But you also sort of answer the question of "do they track trades" yourself. It's easy and they can do it but account interaction, which is supposed to be enforced, is almost never punished. Holding onto the information before making a decision if they recorded this data makes sense, but trading between two accounts under the same IP should present no such difficulties. It goes largely unnoticed, though, so it follows that they probably don't record this information.

Well then if you're asking us to be fortune tellers...We've got no idea. The whole purpose of the choices is to give your avatar shell a semblance of a personality, uniqueness. Pick your dialogue choices accordingly.

Considering how the quest played out...I think the hype was deserved regardless if you think it was too short or too easy. The key points of the quest are just too momentous to ignore.

Because right now, until things are retconned, we have several paradoxes on our hands whether they happen to our account or not. They represent parts of the story that will need to be changed or altered and haven't been yet for whatever reason. It doesn't make what the quest was able to display bad, but it mars an otherwise polished story, as you've put it.

I don't think we'll have any bit of resolution in the coming months of any sort, but it would be nice to have some larger segments of character development. I understand devs have to walk a thin line there since people react violently to "spoon-feeding" stories, but if it's serving a strong purpose I shouldn't think many people would mind. It's hard when you have this hollow-shell everyman character that we're supposed to be - we lack a voice, we have no personality either way, and so on. Conflicts tend to come from other characters rather than our own characters. It's...it's tough haha. I don't know how they could do it better, I only know what I'd like to see more of! I was staring wistfully at the Guthix book I completed in 2007 when they were 50k or so apiece, and wishing I could get a Guthix altar in my POH. Well that's refreshing at least :D
