It's continually crashing in price right now because you have a lot of average people unlocking the gear and putting them on the market. For others who haven't bothered, still have a long ways to go, or whatever other reason it's likely easier to buy than to wait if it means they have access to new content with new loot, which typically translates into great profits. After they're done, they often think they can simply sell them back without a loss. (Yet everyone enters into that scenario with the same mindset and they all end up taking a loss on it anyway.) But I'm getting off track. Here's the issue I take with your claim... You've got absolutely no reason to believe that the range dungeon will break the pattern established by the other combat-specific dungeons. Those rumors, which are founded by nothing other than your wishful thinking, will only fuel speculation. Don't get me wrong, you're not the only one who would think this. But those that do have absolutely nothing to go on. So then prices briefly rise from little more than pure hope and when it's obvious that nothing else has changed, they will crash harder than they would've done on its own. This simply spurs on the natural decline as more people dump their PoP gear in hopes for profit.

It seems weird that they'd make the range dungeon a place designed specifically for tank armor when the mage dungeon is not. I wouldn't go buying pop tank gear just for that incoming update based on a stab in the dark...

While the sexuality is definitely present in parts within the book, when HBO displays it like it does it feels...just wrong, honestly.

If I recall, they said it only had a finite use anyhow - enough to get you to level 40 and that's it. Unless there's some other miscellanious rewards (oh god not another MA please) it was released only to be temporary, entry-level content to serve as a stepping stone of how [bleep]ing horrendous it is training prayer at low levels rather than correcting any usability problems with prayer training as a whole. It's a pretty clever solution though, honestly. I'm not upset by this in the least. We get a little bit of lore, they save money rather than investing a boatload of hours in re-examining the skill/designing/implementing/testing/whatever, newbies get quick access to the prayer skill with no cost, everyone walks away happy.

If PVM and PVP is dead in a free to play environment, bringing in a new weapon set will not revitalize it. We will not see it come to f2p any time soon.

I was just thinking the same thing earlier today... The prospect of finding a traitless captain to get your favorite assortment of traits is slightly mindboggling.

I've been trying FTB UItimate but it's just so god damn overwhelming and there isn't a single decently compiled wiki for it. They all just point to other wikis, and by that point I'm absolutely lost. The old addage, "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it" exists for a reason. Would you call developers nostalgic for looking to the past to see where they failed or succeeded? So why would you do the same to the average player base? I understand the ultimate point you're trying to make. I do. Some people take nostalgia too far. You have been staunchly opposed to those who are constantly negative and that can be a good thing. But what you, and many others like you need to be cautious of is not letting it blind you to reality in the same way it blinds the negative nancies/mancies. In this particular case, it is a very valid concern that there might be some short-term alienation of their player base with these very violent changes. We see very little praise for how they tried to address power creep almost in one update; those are the sorts of changes that should be highlighted for those supporting this update the most. There has to be a reason, a strong reason, to make such violent changes - and it has to make sense to the community. If they say they're listening to player feedback, yet the change is almost nothing like we've seen recommended, then it is a bad reason. But more people would support addressing the power creep in preparation for future updates, which this was surely doing. From that new understanding, feedback would be better tailored to the vision that Jagex has for the game from it's community. You just can't continually fight ignorance and bad reasoning with more ignorance and bad reasoning.

You're completely right. It was my fault. Due to some IRL things I didn't keep abreast of upcoming changes, so the update caught me completely off guard. I regret it, but I only lost a couple mil. It could've been a lot worse. Ah well, lesson learned for this novice flipper. :)

That's a really good point. The amount of prayer they restore now is so terribly low.

This impending farming update will have a use outside of farming. In fact, it seems specifically designed to address the lackluster effects of the god potions in our post-eoc environment. By doing this, they kill two birds with one stone, or so they think. I think most players would agree that the update's success depends on whether or not it makes brews as good as they were in pre-eoc. There's always the chance they didn't tell us everything about the update, though. Maybe they'll augment other potions and farming things, too.

One thing that's also been dropping due to panic/failed expectation is frost dragon bones. I got burned pretty badly on their plummet from 13.6kea to what's now between 10.5k - 11.4k. Oddly enough, regular dragon bones have been pretty stable.

I'm not too thrilled with May, but I'm hoping the patch notes will bring a tidy amount of smaller tweaks that are greatly appreciated. A part of me is hoping that the upcoming 'under the hood' changes to how bonus exp is granted and doled out is being done in anticipation for a BXPW in the beginning of June. The idea of another bxpw to free and members with all that lag is terrifying. As for the farming update, well, it will be very interesting to see. At the very least, it will be a nice thing to grow for extra exp instead of watermelons. I didn't realize though that flowers were considered an under-used allotment considering how handy they are for marigolds and limpwurt roots.
