  1. I agree with you. Great month, great quest, great updates overall. It was a good surprise for me to come back from hollidays and see all this. :)
  2. What game are we playing again? Obviously, and you're contradicting your first sentence here. And our avatars are just supposed to inherently know how to figure all of that out? No, that's why we train SKILLS. Dungeoneering actually contains ALL aspects of questing, and more. If you can prove to me that there are no puzzles, boss fights, or lore in the dungeoneering skill, you win the argument. PROTIP: You can't. Nope, that's not all there is to it. You've never touched the skill, obviously. No one's arguing that it's not a skill. Yeah, you're right. I guess the fact that we're pursuing a Mahjarrat deep underneath a castle that belonged to the Dragonkin to try and prevent him from freeing Zamorak is proof that there's no plot or addition to the storyline of Runescape. Maybe you should've researched a bit before you made such an asinine claim. You're contradicting yourself again. Dungeoneering doesn't add to the storyline of Runescape, but it does? Our actions inside the dungeon are going to have a HUGE effect on the future of Runescape. We're (presumably) trying to stop an all-powerful Mahjarrat from FREEING A GOD WHICH WILL ENACT THE EDICTS OF GUTHIX, DESTROYING US ALL. I'd say our actions inside the dungeon are pretty damn relevant. See above. You're absolutely right. I don't contradict myself. You just pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. They're two different things. You need skills in quests as much as you need gear and as much as you sometimes need knowledge about areas in order to come prepared. They're tools. When you want to build a new house, you don't build it because you wanted to use your tools, you build it because you wanna live inside of it. In the same way, when you quest you don't do it on the purpose of using your skills, you do it on the purpose of living the adventure it has to offer, or you can be of those who do it on the purpose of getting the reward. It's that simple. If you can't understand that, or if you once again pretend not to, there's no point in continuing this argument. About Dungeoneering, I didn't say it has no plot but it does. You're just twisting my words around pityfully trying to ridicule me - why do you attack on me rather than on my points? I said the AREA of dungeoneering had a story but not the SKILL you practice inside of it, and I made that pretty clear so don't play stupid. You just avoided the whole argument for the sake of attacking on my credibility.
  3. Nope, I don't judge people on first sight and that's why I ask questions instead of immediately calling people no-lifers. I'm still surprised that you didn't just assume I was insinuating you were a no-lifer and flamed me, it's hard to get these kinds of discussions right, so thanks for taking the time to share your point of view on it. If what you say is true, it really surprises me how you can work on your life while playing 18 hours a day - I assume you may be planning to do some job related to computer science and learn languages such as C++ on your computer while you do easy skills such as Cooking or Fishing? It seems to me as the only thing that could work out well, but then again my knowledge on that matter isn't wide enough. You seem to dedicate yourself to Runescape on a purpose of surpassing yourself, somehow, to test your capabilities as you say. But what are you learning from hardcore skilling, exactly? Becoming more patient, more endured with monotonous tasks? I don't quite see which of your capabilities you're putting to test, to my eyes all it takes is a lot of time in your hands and some coffee to stay wake up.
  4. I'd like to ask you a question, but I'll warn you in advance I'll be brutal about it. And I'm not trying to flame you, don't get me wrong, I'm just curious about how super-hardcore gamers think.
  5. You've clearly never even touched dungeoneering, as the entire skill is in itself a MASSIVE quest. What is the "point" of questing, exactly? I was under the impression that it was to uncover the lore of Runescape while applying our acquired skills in ways that integrate our characters into the various storylines of the game. You're literally [developmentally delayed]ed if you think Dungeoneering is just a skill. Questing has nothing to do with your skills. During quests you don't use skills because you have to prove yourself, you use skills because things get in your way and you're either skilled enough to get past them or not. Questing is about living an adventure, contribute to the story of Gielinor and even changing the course of history, not about proving how good you are at x or y skills. You don't get to do any of that in Dungeoneering. You're just getting past rooms until you reach a final room where you defeat the boss, then repeat over and over again the same process. In the long run, it's grinding, what makes it just another skill. There is no plot involved, no addition to the story of the game. When it's said Dungeoneering adds up to Runescape, it's the area itself and its history that add up, something that has been there before you even trained the skill, not your actions inside the dungeon. During quests, it's your actions that make the difference, and that fact alone makes the two things very distant. It doesn't take a genious to understand that. It's obvious quests and skills are linked, duh. There's always a link because it's in the same game. Doesn't mean questing comes down to proving your skills.
  6. What? I don't think there should be a 120 cap. The 99 cap is already very hard to get to, seriously how many players out there have 99 in all skills? The game needs to remain open to everyone. 99 is already not open for casual gamers, two skills alone take as long as it takes to cape a full character on games like WoW, so where's the need in making this an even more elitist game? Even casual players can be efficient. You don't need to put in ten hours a day to get a 99. And FYI, a LOT of players have 99 in every skill (and over 99 dungeoneering). Please get us the % of players with 99 in every skill (you may leave 99 dungeoneering out since it's new), then we'll see if a LOT of players have 99's in all their skills. And I highly doubt any casual ever got close to 99's in all skills, since hardcore players struggle at it already. By casual gamers I'm not talking about everyone who doesn't play 10 hours a day, I'm talking about people who play up to three hours at best when they get back from work and such. I'm sorry you feel that way. Due to effigies and the ease of making a lot of money quickly nowadays, maxing out is easier than ever. Is it still a daunting task? Yes, but even casual players can do it if they are EFFICIENT. Efficiency is the key. What about we bring some maths in? 99 in all skills is pretty much around 340 million exp. I tried to find someone's adventurer log with that set of skills, and I did find one, but I can't see how many hours he played. Maybe if you'd get one, we could calculate how long a casual player would take to max a character.
  7. I missed this first time I posted but really, if you think Dungeoneering = questing, you missed the whole point of questing really... Exactly. Quests require a plot. Puzzles should be there only when they got in the way with storyline purposes, such as the puzzle in MEP2 being there because the Temple of Light is supposed to be very hard to turn on and off for security reasons. When it's a bunch of puzzles gathered together with a super hard boss as the cherry on the top of the cake, it's not really a quest anymore. See, Nomad's Requiem should have been at least as long as While Guthix Sleeps. It shouldn't have been just a little introduction quest to the new plot when it has the toughest quest boss in game. Because quests are about solving plots, saving damsels in distress, stoping Lucien from destroying Runescape and such, not about catching a butterfly or a monkfish. You can catch a butterfly, great you're better than me at it. But still, you can catch as many butterflies as you want, it won't make you a better quester than one who is skilled at questing... that's like if you trained at cooking food in real life to later know how to fly an F15 bomber lol. Questing and skilling are two different activities for a reason.

  9. Figured out the cape hood would fit my outfit better than the cavalier. Good music but also good views.... :P
  10. I'll be at the event, will be my first Tip It event. Hope this turns out well ;)
  11. It's not by trying to figure out how you'll live through those 127 years that you'll get to that planet (and this assuming you can travel at light speed when you can't...). It's by figuring out how to cheat your way there with a shortcut. You obviously can't expect a second generation family (or even third generation, which would require incest if you haven't noticed...) to colonise the planet properly, they would not know enough about our home planet and would create their own world there or something. The solution is in wormholes... if they do exist. If not, well we still have Mars a few million miles away. Perhaps even Titan, the giant moon with an atmosphere that orbits Saturn.. would be more complicated than Mars but probably easier than this new exo-planet.

  13. I guess I'm better off waiting till they grow more mature, and start a relationship she wanted because of who I was and not because of how popular I was.
  14. I agree with you, questing should be available to everyone. Questing and skilling are two different activities, one should not need to be a dedicated skiller in order to be a quester.
  15. There's no girl around I wish to date, those I liked didn't give me a chance, yet I'm really bored of being alone. 18 and never had a girlfriend. What should I do?
  16. Silvertaler

    Mhm.

You're under a lot of tension. I know where you're coming from. Whenever I'm like that, I take a break off Runescape and only come back when the tension is completely gone and when I feel like I'll have fun on it. I'd suggest you do the same, but it's your call of course.
  17. Girls with flat breats turn me off. Girls with oversided breasts turn me off even more because of how fake they look (and probably are).
  18. I plan on selling stuff before the weekend and just continue training Ranged. I wanted to do Construction or Summoning, but the bonus for Construction doesn't add up to SC hammers and Summoning got ridiculously nerfed so yeah.
  19. 113% Explorer and 107% Socializer. I guess that website really liked my answers to the questionnaire  Here's the image with the ?force=true code if anyone is thinking that was a fake...
  20. LOL! That's the funniest screenshot about these new outfits so far :D EDIT: where the heck did the screenshot with the slaves just go? o.o
  21. Sweet, I wish I was high enough level for those kinds of tasks already <_<
  22. As I make quite a few videos overtime, I thought it would be best to gather them all in this thread, so here's my little video gallery for Tip It. I learnt to handle both Sony Vegas and Macromedia Flash 8, so here you'll find either remixes of other videos, flash animations or even stop-motions. I'll only be posting my most original ones on this thread. [Newest]Muse VS Obi-Wan Kenobi The English rock band Muse decides to head back to planet Earth. After a short trip, they decide to boost their speed, breaking the speed limits and getting themselves in trouble with the local sherif, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The video clips come from the music video of Sing For Absolution, Star Wars II and The Downfall. I voiced the band's members in the left and right seats of the ship and remixed all the sounds, while a friend of mine voiced the member in the middle seat as well as Obi-Wan Kenobi. (In case you're wondering what language we're speaking, it's French). The Roger Troutman My first and only stop-action, so far. It was actually made for a project at school, I had to advertise anything I wanted in whatever manner I wanted, and it gave this. It contains a clip from Indiana Jones 4 and some sounds from random websites or videos, all the rest is self-made. Triandor's Attack - The Series A far-fetched project of mine from mid 2009 that I never got to finish. The first episode was recorded on RPG Maker XP and remixed with Windows Movie Maker - the best I had at the time. The second episode was entirely made on Macromedia Flash 8, being my first ever flash animation. I never continued the series as I didn't find the motivation I needed for it, but who knows, maybe I'll get back to it one day. Here's the first part of episode 1, the sequels can easily be found in the Related Videos bar or in my channel. Feedback is appreciated. Enjoy :)
  23. That one's pretty sweet, you could try it with a longer beard maybe?
