  1. Because I want to be an English professor in a couple years, I'll help you out here: Bladewing and I have about the same stats. Bladewing and I have access to the two most profitable boss monsters. Bladewing, however, has the advantage of using a divine spirit shield and a chaotic rapier. I can make about 4m/h at TDs or DKs with my gear. Bladewing can make slightly more at both bosses due to his gear (more at DKs than at TDs, presumably). I will repeat it again so you don't miss it. I'll even put it in big red letters: I can make about 4m/h at TDs or DKs. This is probably one of the funniest things I've ever read on these forums. Thank you. Why...? He can....
  2. You're right, it doesn't matter what the price is to me. What does matter to me however, is that the GE never will give us it's true price, because of the way Jagex made the Grand Exchange work.
  3. I'm surprised it took him this long to use items he has as an argument.
  4. Sorry, couldn't resist :)
  5. Darn, you beat my record..I beat that quest on a level 30 once, was so much fun, the quest actually was a challenge, especially the spider part (at least for me) :P
  6. When they were made, summoning, curses, claws, and (i think) diaries weren't out yet, so no Bunyip/unicorns, Soul Split, and good alternate specs were avaliable. Back then AGS was the strongest spec weapon. The next best was DDS (inaccurate as hell) and the D Hally (only good on big monsters, not Pvp) SGS was the best healing item ZGS was the best....ummm...yyeeaa... BGS was a decent spec and the the only reliable Defense draining weapon. They were useful when they came out for their specs. (other than ZGS  ). But like many other items, time has drained their usefulness. Also think that without Extremes/Turmoil, the stats of weapons mattered much more, since you actually needed the accuracy to hit bosses like Grarrdor with. So they were the best for bosses at the time.
  7. And now they're..... maybe you should gtfo Well... if you wanted a party hat, you had a chance. I bought yellow one back then - I used my chance. ^^ Edit: on actual subject - the grand exchange has been out for ages now, and is yet to be fixed completely. I'm sure Jagex will find some solution to that, sooner or later: if not this year, then probably in 2011. I have no hurry, they're usually fixing things, sooner or later. When did I say I wanted a party hat?

  9. My only problem is with how the GE works... I think the price of items in the GE should raise if people aren't selling the item, but people want to buy it. It's so stupid how items like the Christmas Cracker never change in GE price simply because people don't sell one.
  10. Because you're you....just because most people hate them, doesn't mean everyone does. You're part of that group of people that actually like them. Crazy idea, right? If you look at time, xp, drops, charms, and difficulty, they're horrible from an efficiency standpoint, and not worth doing. However, you should always at least try them yourself (off task, don't unlock them unless you know you want to) and see if you like them or not. If you enjoy them, then fine, unlock them and go crazy
  11. You found a warrior wearing Primal , what did you expect  Your best bet is to make runes, or use whichever style they're weakest too If they're wearing a chainbody+skirt, use stab, if they're wearing a Platebody+legsm use crush, if they're topless, use your most accurate stat.
  12. It's humorous, but isn't what efficiency people say....at all... I've never seen someone say that if you don't cannon you're doing it wrong. What I have seen is people say that If you are looking for pure xp, then you "should" cannon. There's a big difference between saying "If you aren't cannoning, you won't get max xp, therefore you're a noob" and "If you want max xp, there's no reason to not use a cannon" If you can find a direct quote of someone calling another person a noob for not using a cannon, I would absolutely love to see it.
  13. It worked fine when I ranged slay, I actually killed them quiet fast. But I was using Eagle eye and range pots all the time when I did it.
  14. when ever I have junk to sell (usually stackable junk mind you, like addyp++ arrows), i lend my claws for 100k/hr, and I get offers almost instantly every time
  15. If that was directed to me, are you claimining my explanation was plagiarized or the term efficiency troll was? He means you've basically said what all the "efficiency trolls" have been saying for the past....10 pages....
  16. Bandos on guys Armadyl on girls Bandos looks horrible on girls Armadyl looks horrible on guys.
  17. It's strange how a topic simply asking why people find Runescape fun has turned into this. You guys are so awsome. I wish I could answer questions and move on like you
  18. I can't really think of many MMOs that don't require clicking, but I do agree it's more click intensive then most. Every game ever made requires clicking. My point is that Runescape is the only popular MMO that uses clicking for every single action. You'll see why this is an issue once you play an MMO other than Runescape. I have played other MMOs, I've agreed RS requires more clicking. I don't mind that. So I see no issue personally.

  20. the SS gives slightly more kills/hr i believe, however, the ZS is more usefull for more things, and also cheaper, so I'd say it's a lot more worth the buy.
  21. The controls seems simple to me, or are you implying something else about the controls?
  22. i hear men in edgeville drop a surprisng amount of loot :P In p2p. No herbs = bad
  23. It seems that defining fun is more difficult that I had planned. That or I was not clear with what I was asking. When thinking of enjoyable, 'fun' skills many players, including you, say that Slayer is the skill that most players seem to enjoy. If we take that as a point of reference, why is Slayer fun? Because as your reply is, it is a blanket statement that really does nothing to explain what you find fun about Runescape. In other words, my question is not 'What is fun about Runescape'. Instead I am looking for a deeper understanding of why you think any particular thing is fun. Everyonedies for instance gave an example of something he enjoys doing and gave a reason for why that is. Some people could very well say that clicking a monster, waiting for it to die, looting it, and then moving to the next is a very good way to define combat in Runescape. There is not really a 'can I do this task' question that comes with some games. Instead it is 'how long will this take?' (as can be seen in the efficiency thread). Slayer is very similar except that it is a certain, assigned creature that players must kill that is often more generous with what it leaves behind. This is obviously not an enjoyable way of viewing this loveable skill. As such my question is How is what you find fun fun?, I found it fun because killing helpless creatures for the sake of some lady in a cave is relaxing to me. It didn't get boring because you aren't camping the same monster for hours on end, hitting high in kuradal's dungeon and other places thanks to the slayer helm + other effects was fun to me. The thought that it helped me train ALL of my combat stats is also an enjoyable thought to me as well as making money, it makes it feel like I was being efficient. I find dungeoneering fun because it's a group activity, and especially since I'm on ventrillo with people while doing it, makes it even better. Like just last night we did 4 larges in a row, and kept making one another solo ridiculous rooms without prayer, like one room with 2 level 143 brutes in it (he tried and almost died, so he gave up :P). We just have a lot of fun with one another
