  1. To be honest, it's to be expected. Andrew has stated himself numerous times in the past that Runescape's lifespan was never meant to be this long. Considering the age and current size of the game, if they wanted to graphically overhaul the entire game (including graphics, UI, menus etc) in one go it would take them a long ass time. Edit: As a sidenote, I'd say Yanille is probably the most neglected major city in the game. Anything south or west of it looks pretty bad as well. It still basically looks the same as it did when it first released just with better textures.
  2. I agree with Sy, I think we'll just be getting updates of bronze - steel armours. If they are planning them all through the year then they'll probably group black - addy together then do Rune and Dragon later. After all, for rune alone they have trimmed, heraldic and God versions to do. It is a sticky issue; while I think that is the likely route at runefest when showing offer armour make overs and concepts they did show low-levelled metal armours (and spoke of bronze>rune) dragon and barrows. So by that terminology it should go the rune. Never know perhaps we'll get bronze > rune but heradlic, trimed etc will be the "later date" Didn't think of it like that. That sounds like a more likely route for them to take. The early teaser pic we got last week I suspect, is most likely steel. Edit: Now I think about it, I doubt they would take that route. Updating standard rune and leaving the trimmed versions the old way would be pretty inconsistent.

  4. I don't get it? The amulet of strength is showing up green on his avatar.
  5. Given the time delay between someone dropping and you seeing it it means you don;t see it for all that long which would make timing it right near impossible. The effect only lasts for a few minutes (I wanna say 3 but I'm not sure) and then has roughly 24 hours recharge it seems. Don't items instantly appear to other people when you drop them in the wildy? Might be worth finding an empty world and doing it there.
  6. This. Also, someone has most likely mentioned it but the special ability of the book turns logs into ashes if you walk/run over them. I was getting 405exp per yew log so it's better than burning. Shame it barely lasts for a single inventory.
  7. Of course you wouldn't be surprised. Nobody would be. We already know they are making "The Runescape Olympics". ;) This is news to me.
  8. The 2001 model is clearly the best.
  9. This. There are so many people who don't know the difference between publisher and developer.
  10. Yes it's confirmed that there is no skill currently in development(Well, it was the case at Runefest at least). By now, it's just a discussion going on about possible new skills or changes to existing ones. Without a new skill RS will begin it's end of life cycle: new skills are great marketing tools to gain new users (even just as members it's a good "indication" to start runescape). Revitalizing skills doesn't have that effect: as the name simply implies they're fixing broken parts, not much new content. So if jagex wants to cater new users -which they have to unless they wish to steadily build down on runescape (do they have alternatives to make money?)- they have to come up with new stuff. Nobody said there was never going to be another new skill, just not this year. Seriously, take a dam chill pill. Don't you think you're over reacting just a little bit? Considering you don't know Jagex's business model or their figures for peaks in membership in relation to released content, (If there even is a correlation) I'd say you're talking out of your ass. He does have a bit of a point, in theory that is. Regardless of business model or # of members, any product has a finite life cycle. That life-cycle can be lengthened (but not indefinately) by "re-inventing" the product. You make something dynamic out of something static, so to speak. That's the (marketing) theory. However, I don't buy for a second that this should necessarily be a new skill. Touching up on existing content and revamping skills can just as much be considered as "re-inventing" the product. As long as there are (good) updates, the life cycle is being lengthened. There will come a day when RuneScape enters its final cycle, an hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down, but it will not be this day. Cool bro, if you had just read my other posts in the thread you would realise that you just reiterated my point.
  11. If you're going to paraphrase, at least add something to the conversation. Not sure how you got that from what I wrote. How did you know? Ha, I can see it now. I really wouldn't be surprised if they actually released some kind of Runescape olympics complete with stadium to coincide with it.
  12. Ok, I should have specified more clearly. I was talking about it in the context of new skills. Players aren't going to go "Right, Dungeoneering just came out, I'll max that then unsubscribe until the next skill comes out." it just doesn't happen.

  14. Perhaps a more important question is; why would you even need to safespot any of them?
  15. Do you get KC, trying to figure out if you need to get it or not. KC only determines the quality/quantity of non barrows items so you don't need it at all. A lot of people though (including me) get 4-5 kills as it means you end up with more bloods/deaths/bolt racks as opposed to mind/chaos runes.
  16. I must have missed the part in any of the news articles that said the stats or special effects of Barrows armour were going to be updated...oh wait. You certainly did. They didn't even put it in any of the articles. Certainly hard to find it when it doesn't exist. Dw, happens to the best of us. I see what you did there. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the chance of a barrows item is something like 1/22 chest loots. Whenever I go on a dry streak I end up getting like 3-4 items almost in a row.

  18. Watching that video just makes me wonder how anyone can prefer the old look of the armour to the new ones.
  19. Has anyone else noticed that some of the Brothers have had their combat levels changed? All the melee brothers used to be level 115 but now Dharok is the highest at level 196. I like the new designs. I think they're a vast improvement on the old ones.
  20. 3 years after barrows becomes obsolete they finally add that, wow lol. I don't know why people are throwing the word obsolete around. Only a small percentage of players can afford Nex armours and Barrows armour is still widely used by mid to high level players. Obsolescent is the word you are looking for. A few of the Barrows armor is far from being obsolete at any rate. I wonder if Jagex goof'd the visage rate from Barrows.. it sure seems fairly common so far. I'm not looking for any word. It was the guy I quoted that used the word obsolete.

  22. Full Akrisae minus the mace.
  23. Yea man, that's cool. It's not as if it's against the rules to bump an old thread and contribute nothing to the original point of it other than to tell people some random personal goal that has no discussion value...oh wait.
  24. It was Urza, not you. The thread is over two years old though.
