"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Noxx just go meet up with her again, and if she refuses sex, then quit seeing her. Good opportunity to practice assertiveness.

Sounds good if it'll make you happy for now. Just keep in mind that Claire's behavior is completely normal for girls her age. The sooner you can accept that and learn to deal with it, the sooner you'll quit getting upset over it when it happens again in the future.

I think she's had her mind made up this whole time, but Noxx just didn't pick up on the signals. Women communicate indirectly, men communicate directly. I understand your confusion, Noxx. I remember with my first girlfriend I pretty much said the exact same thing (something along the lines of, "half the time I'm with you, I have no [bleep]ing clue what you want"). But that's not really going to change anything. You've just gotta accept how they operate and adapt to it.

Aah, chick language. "We're not having sex tonight" --translation: "I really want to have sex tonight. But I want you to take all of the responsibility for it so I won't be seen as trampy" Your situation keeps reminding me of:

You must learn to take her words with a grain of salt and pay attention to her behavior instead. In other words, she was definitely DTF. You should've at least tried, and then if she wasn't interested, she would've let you know by saying "Stop" or "No"-- in which case you should immediately back off. But if you've got a half-naked girl on your bed with you, at your age, there's a pretty strong chance she wants something to happen. That's not something she does with guys in the friendzone :P I can understand why you'd rather "play it safe," though, but that's not what she wanted you to do. Believe it or not, some women actually get turned on by guys who just go for it without waiting for "permission" >_> But not doing anything is just failing by default. You're afraid of losing something that you don't actually have.

What did you do today?
Just pulled myself up to eye-level with the bar :) Can't get my chin over the bar yet, though. But hey, PROGRESS!

What did you do today?
So, about a month ago I could barely do a dead-hang with one arm from the pullup bar for more than a few seconds. A couple of weeks later, I developed the strength to barely pull myself up to about a 90-degree angle with one arm. Right now, I can pull myself up to 90 degrees almost instantly without much effort... but then I can't pull myself any higher <_< Not sure where to go from here >_> Reckon I'll keep doing weighted pullups an' shit..

Best option is to cut off all contact... For now, at least. You won't be able to reason with him in an emotionally-charged situation like this. It sucks, but it's the best thing to do unfortunately.

You should know by now that I understand the "reasoning," I just don't agree with it.

Yes, you're right-- and the people who fail (or refuse) to acknowledge those simple truths are going to suffer in the long-run for doing so. The sooner you understand how your brain/emotions work, the sooner you can start thinking: "Hmm, how can I structure my life and behave such that this obsolete brain of mine won't impede on my long-term happiness?"

She'll say it... eventually. ----- I'm not sure why some of you are freaking out about advising others to dump their partners. Actually, I do know why. And I think this post from another forum is very relevant to what you guys are arguing against. Granted, the context is different (in that thread they're arguing about "toxic" women-- in other words, unstable women with mental health issues and dangerous lifestyles), however the point is still the same. The bottom line is-- if your partner is making you unhappy, then your options are: 1. Try to "make it work" 2. End the relationship The fact that so many people are unwilling to choose option #2 is one of the biggest reasons why so many relationships these days are stagnant. Not every relationship is "fixable." Hell, I'd go as far as to say that no relationship is fixable. Rather, it's a matter of "this is what this person is like; this is what I'm like; this is how we both are when we're together, and I really can't do anything to change that... so am I happy with this? Will I be happy with this for the rest of my life?" When people start thinking like that, and they start to think "maybe not..." that's when problems start to develop... and you can't blame them for having those thoughts. Furthermore, you really can't blame them for opting out if they know deep down that their relationship will never live up to their expectations. I think part of the reason why people allow themselves to remain in shitty relationships is because of some of the beliefs shown recently in this thread-- they think that choosing option #2 is admitting defeat and failure. Sure, that's one way to think of it I guess, at least if long-term monogamy is your goal (which it shouldn't be, but I digress). But I don't see it that way at all. I think choosing option #2 is simply being smart.

Your first piece of advice was to jump ship for another girl. Or, I suppose, to get with another girl, maybe without jumping ship. Whichever. I'm assuming you think that's bad advice?
