  2. Happiness is more than a pleasurable sensation, to achieve long term happiness it is more important to attain a deep feeling of fulfillment and serenity and I don't think rs can provide that. Yes, the two kinds of happiness you're referring to are "hedonic happiness" (fulfilling basic needs; short-term gratifications; entertainment) and "eudaimonic happiness" (fulfillment, growth, long-term happiness, etc.). Eudaimonic happiness generally comes from within, not from external validations, gratifications, and accomplishments. And I do agree that RS generally can't bring you eudaimonic happiness. I'm just saying that people shouldn't be discrediting RS achievements in comparison to RL achievements since they're basically the same thing most of the time, as far as happiness goes. And again, as Jebrim has illustrated previously, accomplishments are subjective.
  3. Again, accomplishments are subjective. Society also thinks that having a full time job, a spouse, and kids are accomplishments. But those things don't guarantee long-term happiness. Quite the opposite, usually. In other words, do what makes YOU happy, not society. If playing RuneScape 10 hours a day, 7 days a week makes someone happy, more power to them. You might think it's a meaningless waste of time, but you don't have the authority to tell somebody else that they're wasting their time.
  4. Even if it was fun, 120 still represents an extraordinary amount of grinding. I think Dungeoneering is actually a really fun skill, but it's still a really difficult stat to achieve, even with the super-fast XP gains at the end. You still don't see that many people walking around with True Dungeoneering Skillcapes and it's not even included with the Max Cape. Overall, it's just a bad direction in which to take the game. If a skill is fun, then the "grinding" is irrelevant because you're enjoying it every step of the way.
  5. Again, this sort of thing would probably be a no-brainer (minus the potential implications of combat skills) if training skills was actually fun.
  6. (sigh) such little thought people put into their decisions these days -.-
  7. "'Productive' life decisions" is a very subjective term. You're making it sound like it's objective... it isn't. No... playing a computer game is still reality. The setting of Runescape is indeed a fantasy, obviously. However the time put into playing RuneScape is just as real the time put into any other goal you may have "in real life." Again-- what "matters in life" is subjective. You cannot define for others what matters in life. That's why your argument is invalid.
  8. How much less XP is granted now for DG tasks?
  9. Relatively sure I was doing my tuck planches wrong :-| I wasn't leaning forward enough. Amazing how extremely brutal it is to lean forward just a few more inches... Got a long road ahead of me <.< Also, lol'd at this (skip to 2:24): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DZ_fjLCV8g&t=2m24s SHUT UP AND DO HANDSTAND!
  10. Doesn't really surprise me... Whenever I'm in the final stretch of my goals-- whether in RS or RL, suddenly my motivation/commitment starts to wane
  11. Been once. Turned $40 into $90 then called it quits.

    1. Auras are replaced for free. 2. Yes they count as items and remain equipped/activated if you die with an active aura. 3 and 4. Read this.
  15. Lol.. I was going to suggest they use the code function but I didn't think it'd be so simple Edit: nvm quote [bleep]ed it up hahaha
  16. Oh I thought it was the girl from the bar. Yeah that's pretty unchill Noxx lol. Don't drink so much next time.
  17. I'm sure your friend will understand, don't worry about it. Solid work btw  Though... it seems like you're awkwardly stuck in limbo and feeling guilty for pursuing what you really want, for some reason... so you're very wishy-washy. You should take some time to sit down and figure out what exactly you want or don't want as far as relationships go before you keep getting involved with girls, and then fully commit to it... no more dipping your toe in the water
  18. Most people I know who work out in the morning do so because it's the only time they can do it, or at least it's the most convenient time. Kinda like jimmy said, a the big perk of lifting early is you get to experience the post-workout high for the rest of the day... As opposed to only a couple of hours if you lift at night In other news... Just held the tuck planche for 50 seconds... Actually started sweating by the time I had to stop... Which is odd because I never sweat from working out unless I'm running lol. Gonna move up to the next planche progression after I hit 60 seconds :D Edit: Did the tuck planche for 60 seconds and tried moving on to the "advanced tuck planche," and HOLY SHIT IT'S DIFFICULT! Gonna take a long-ass time to hold this one for 60 seconds unless I'm doing it wrong :(

  21. Wouldn't it make more sense to just auto-mute the bots instead of forcing them to spam that ignore msg?
  22. Pretty sure it has to be c6 to count toward the achievement. But I doubt the xp rate changes based on the size
  23. For the first two years I'd skip the gym if I had procrastinated schoolwork due the next day. But I soon realized that if I skipped the gym, I'd just waste that time doing something else other than schoolwork... so my last two years in college I didn't let schoolwork "interfere" with my gym routine lol I like going 8-10 hours after I wake up... ideally at about 8pm. I don't like the gym when it's deserted (early morning/mid afternoon), and I don't like the gym when it's so full that you have to wait 15 minutes to use the bench (early evening). When my iPod/personal willpower would fail to motivate me, checking out the hot girls on the treadmills nearby would always do the trick :twss:
  24. Did a c6 small and got ~180k dungeoneering XP at lvl 91
  25. Does this mean that autotyping and advertising are instant perm bans like bug abuse is?
