  1. The forum where a lot of the topics got moved to already exists for that. But as far as emotions go, I think everyone today has just been overreacting/overemotional about everything (and also breaking the rules in the process and being punished for it). The question is-- how much leniency should be given and how much (irrational) emotion should be tolerated? :-k
  2. Very rational post. Respect. I agree with most of the things you've said, though I think the moderators are doing a better job than everyone else is giving them credit for. They deleted a lot of the spam/troll topics already. I'd assume they're only keeping some of those topics up for "evidence" or historical/referential purposes. A forum with no limits would be pretty cool, but you'd have to draw a line somewhere. I don't think flaming is acceptable under any circumstances, and in a forum like that, I'm sure flaming would be much more rampant :\
  3. Lord in the heavens above. Are you actually thinking about what you're typing? GOD :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: Yeah so now we have to include every detail, history, future, assumptions and possible update affects connected to our answer just incase a troll enters the conversation ans nay-say's our method? Great thinking, bro! I see nothing wrong with what he said. Just because some troll comes along after you and says something different, doesn't mean your arguement gets thrown out the window. You're missing the point. Please stop quoting my posts or i will be forced to troll you for being a moron and a kiss-ass. Thanks hombre  The irony here is that you just proved the point of not being post w/o insulting people
  4. Isn't the bottom line what everyone contributes to the community? Don't the contributions of individuals-who-I'm-afraid-to-name-specifically-for-fear-of-being banned outweigh their... zeal when dealing with certain types. They tried to explain in the locked thread how it is possible to become frustrated easily in the environment here. They are 100% right in that regard. Is it acceptable to become frustrated in such a situation? Yes. Is it acceptable to show your frustration by throwing out insults? No. Does acknowledging your frustration justify your actions? No.
  5. A few days ago I would have been upset seeing all the "efficiency trolls" leaving (or being banned). Though as this argument wore on, and they became less and less mature/rational, I no longer have any sympathy for them or feel a need to defend their arguments which I once shared with them. ...Just my two cents >_>
  6. I don't think I've ever seen Golv blatantly insult/degrade someone. Just lots of cynical sarcasm. Seriously? I'll rephrase that: I never found any of Golv's posts to be offensive-- just kind of obnoxious sometimes. Blade's posts, on the other hand... Were blunt but gave helpful advice? Being blunt is fine. Being mean isn't.

  8. Hey, is C2 fishing still the best fishing XP? Considering they balanced it such that you only get 1/2 XP at some spots now. lol I watched all six Star Wars films while I worshiped bones for 80-95 prayer.. and still had like 8 hours left of worshiping.

  10. Two wrongs don't make a right

(threadjack) Does anyone have a pic of the best place to lure Rex?
  12. Well, guess I won't be playing Livid Farm for a long, long time lol
  13. I'm assuming Wicked's method entails an ingenious, legitimate program which he created himself
  14. Does anyone else expect this activity to be modified with the next update?
  15. I can't really train stats consistently anymore if they aren't AFK'able. Most of my training in the past couple of years has all been AFK while playing video games or watching movies... Fletched yew/maple longbows (u) to 90 fletching Cut ivy to 90 wc Fished w/ clay harpoon and swordfish gloves to 80 fishing Mined conc. coal to 80 mining Cooked rocktail to 99 cooking Worshipped bones to 95 prayer Also trained most of my magic on this account to 99 via the string ammy spell long, long ago. I remember getting 1M magic XP in one day just while doing nonstop homework.
  16. ...so... NONE of the spells are worth it at ALL? NONE? Holy [bleep] jagex you outdone yourselve this time. Why the [bleep] did I even get 210k produce... I thought you canceled your subscription for this month >_>
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man :wall: All_Is_Great-- you can't make comparisons like that. It just isn't logical.
  18. Another well known fact in psychology is that we usually shouldn't rely too heavily on insignificant findings.
  19. Probably because charging air orbs is the most fun way for him to train, and he doesn't know how to do it properly.
  20. Unless I'm misinterpreting this... So this is basically a competition for who can tolerate the most grinding?
  21. Two things: 1) Proof? 2) How can you compare hurting people in the real world to having a computer program run laps around a pixel agility course in a game? And why do your examples of poor morality end there? Surely those twisted, degenerate souls who bot must also be rapists and child molesters! I once saw a green dragon bot, and I have no doubt that he also sells speed to 14-year-old kids and cheats on his wife! Like it or not, there are most definitely aspects of this game that are so mind-numbingly boring that I would honestly say that bots are completely justified in some cases. I would probably bot agility and mining if I was guaranteed to get away with it without any repercussions. And before you say something like "BUT OBATRION, OFFIC WERK IS ALSO B0RING SO WHY NOT U B LAZY THERE 2 AND CUT CORNERS BECUZ IT IS BORING AMIRITE?!2?@@," keep in mind that, once again, you are comparing the real world to a GAME. I play Runescape to have fun, and though I wouldn't compromise my account for any reason, I do not blame people for doing it. Of course, I don't have any respect for botted skills, but that's another matter altogether. Now that I've admitted to being a sympathizer to botters, feel free to call me a moral nihilist.
  22. If the cheater doesn't take RS seriously, and therefore doesn't put too much effort/thought into their decision of cheating, how can you say that they're less moral? Also, you should reexamine the logic used in your signature.
  23. *Opinion* noted... Do you have any concrete evidence to support that claim? Any statistics? Evidence? Evidence? Your exam and sister analogies are straw man arguments. Does that really make them a bad person? Think of your friends in real life. None of your friends do what you just stated? I know plenty of people (including myself) who often choose to do the bare minimum. What's wrong with doing the bare minimum? First you're saying cheating is immoral, which is understandable, but now you're saying that not going the extra mile is also immoral? Are you implying that there is a correlation between willingness to exert extra effort and friendliness/morality? So now are you saying that there's a negative correlation between willingness to exert extra effort and selfishness? So...? Unethical decisions aren't illegal decisions. Do you honestly think that not taking the rules in a video game seriously leads you to becoming a law-breaking, immoral citizen? If a person doesn't take RS seriously, then you shouldn't relate their in-game characteristics to their real-life characteristics. Following your logic, it's also impossible for someone to give away free sets of rune in f2p and then be immoral in real life.
  24. c2 fishing got nerfed unsurprisingly :\ random(?) fishing spots now give 1/2 the exp per fish. clay harpooning w/ swordfish gloves used to be like 120k xp/hour but last time I tried it, I didn't get anywhere near that much :(
