How are you preparing for Bonus XP Weekend?
85 herblore atm, just need to get 86 before the weekend to get to work on these: Can't afford 1k torstols yet, so after I've got 1k of each extreme I'll just slowly make them into overloads once the weekend's over probably. Gonna do a farm run at the start of the weekend too, for schmidts and giggles

No one in DGS would/could do f43, and everyone in w148 would only do f43 if you had 90+ dg and a hood... I have neither :( So I settled for w117

Herblore boosting during xp weekend
The bonus XP timer works the same way as the stew boost timer. If you keep logging out every minute, your multiplier will stay at 2.7x for as long as you want. I tested it out last BXPW, and kept mine at 2.7x for quite some time. However, I became paranoid that it would be considered bug-abuse/bannable so I reported it and quit using the trick till the weekend was over. I dunno if it'll work again this weekend, but if it does, I'd still be hesitant to use it.

Staking worlds and mage boxing help.
Blood is the least accurate type of spell. You also don't need to lower your opponent's attack level if you're both using magic only. Spell choice doesn't matter. It's mostly pot luck in that department. Equipment, stats, spell-choice are all negligible variables for mage boxing

What do I still need for Nex?
I currently have: 91 attack 92 strength 92 defense 99 hp 99 ranged 99 mage 95 prayer 96 summoning I will also have overloads after the bonus weekend. This covers everything as far as stats go, right? Or do I need to max out melees? What equipment is considered mandatory for Nex? I'm pretty behind the times on optimum ranged setups, so I'd like to know what I should go spend my tokens/gp on. Rigour? Chaotic xbow? Eagle eye shield? Which ones are the most important?

Herblore Bug Abuse
are you sure the timer works that way? It very well could. Different timers work differently. Yak timers have a set amount of time deducted from them when you log off. So constantly logging off actually makes the timer drain faster. of course ultimately you can't know without testing during a bonus week. but I'd just get 88 herblore, and not take the risk of running down my bonus week timer super fast. Yea I tested it last bonus weekend and kept my timer at 2.7x for a quite a while, then reported it and never used that trick again just to be safe

Herblore Bug Abuse
So, I pretty much have 91ish herblore banked in preparation for the bonus XP weekend. The problem is-- I'm currently 85 herblore, and all of my hebrlore supplies are overload ingredients. This means I'd have to stew to continue making my extreme potions. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a big deal, however by stewing during the bonus XP weekend, that also means that my bonus multiplier will remain at 2.7x the whole time. This seems like bug abuse. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this mean I need to get 88 (or 86/87 with ale) herblore before the weekend begins in order to be able to legitimately make extremes over the weekend?

Staking with ZGS
You'd probably also get killed by claw specs by allowing 2h spec weapons

Staking with ZGS
Yes @ ZGS question. However, trying to safespot people is only effective if you're using a halberd. If they have a halberd as well, then you just wasted your spec bar. Trying to safespot w/ melee by standing on top of them is futile because they can simply spam-click you to attack you w/o missing any hits whenever you come out of hiding.

Basic/Welfare Nex Gear...?
A team without overloads can't kill her. Regardless of its size?
-
Basic/Welfare Nex Gear...?
we should form a Nex group consisting of people who don't have optimum stats/gear. then, after I gain access to overloads, I'll immediately abandon you guys and jump ship to the REAL nex teams :D

Buckets
The charter ship traders used to sell buckets of ectoplasm... I dunno if they still do or not with all the shop updates.

I don't take anyone's fight cave achievements seriously unless they have Dream Theater music. I approve of this vid

Dice game
Ah, I see what you mean now. I suppose that's a loophole to the game. If you continue to double every time, you would make profit the first time you rolled your 40% chance victory. Odds say that you should at least win 4 in 10, so unless you are unlucky you would win by at least your 3rd or 4th try. (See in notes below). [hide=Math Stuffs] Starting at 1M the first bet and doubling each time. #1 = 1M bet (LOSE = 1M lost ) (WIN = 2M Total Profit) #2 = 2M bet (LOSE = 3M lost ) (WIN = 3M Total Profit) #3 = 4M bet (LOSE = 7M lost ) (WIN = 5M Total Profit) #4 = 8M bet (LOSE = 15M lost ) (WIN = 9M Total Profit) #5 = 16M bet (LOSE = 31M lost ) (WIN = 17M Total Profit) #6 = 32M bet (LOSE = 63M lost ) (WIN = 33M Total Profit) #7 = 64M bet (LOSE = 127M lost ) (WIN = 65M Total Profit) #8 = 128M bet (LOSE = 255M lost ) (WIN = 129M Total Profit) #9 = 256M bet (LOSE = 511M lost ) (WIN = 257M Total Profit) #10 = 512M bet (LOSE = 1023M lost = Ragequit ) (WIN = 513M Total Profit) [/hide] So your right that you can make a "guaranteed" profit on the game (Assuming you don't pull 0/10 odds). You wouldn't even have to stick with the same host as long as you can make sure you bid x2 the amount you bid last. As soon as you hit your victory, you simply restart back at the beginning and repeat the cycle. How much profit you made would depend on what point you rolled your winning score. The only problem is you have to have enough cash that you continue playing until you do win. I would imagine a lot of dice hosts require a high minimum bid or don't allow you to continue rolling to prevent against this method. It works as long as you don't pull a long losing streak. your calulations of profit are wrong you only profit 1m profit on any of the wins thats the whole theory behind martingale betting system to win a small amount each time or get completely wiped The richer player (or in RL, the casino) always has the advantage using that strategy. If you're gonna increase your stakes each time to profit, you'd wanna increase your stakes much more than to just win 1M

Once again I am disappointed by the tipiters' troll-detection capabilities.

Jagex must've done something.
False. Jagex stated that your defense level does contribute to your magic defense. I forget where they said that, I'm sure it was one of their Q&A sessions. I believe it was something like 60% of your magic level, and 40% of your defense level. Around those numbers. True it may not contribute much, but it still plays a part none the less. That may be true while wearing armor, but as far as mage boxing goes, defense lvl doesn't matter. If it mattered, I would've won significantly more duels against the hundreds of people I fought with 1 def 99 mage, while I was 99 def 99 mage. KB says it's 30% def lvl, 70% magic level, but the KB also has a reputation for being inaccurate.

Found a fantastic way to make money off of scammers
Am I to assume you're also against fining reckless drivers and other law breakers? This guy is trying to steal money from people. OP is teaching them a lesson by stealing it back. That's not two wrongs, that's a learning experience for the kid stealing money. Assume what you want to assume... I have no stance/opinion on this matter.

Just the opposite
I've found that the less seriously I take RS, the more enjoyment I get from it. These days if I get a dragon claws drop from TDs, I don't get very excited anymore. However, I also don't really care if I disconnect at TDs and lose my void and expensive equipment. I've got too many things to keep me busy these days besides RS, so if something happened to Karma, I probably wouldn't mind too much. It's unfortunate how seriously some guys take this game :\ to each their own though, I guess.

If you give a mouse a cookie...
I think the help and advice form is better than ever at the moment, considering how knowledgeable the posters are currently. I used to get annoyed by the tons of repeat threads (mostly the same old fight caves questions) but now I just ignore those and leave those to other people to answer. As far as the caves go, I feel like most people know they can do it, but they're just too afraid to risk 1-2 hours of their spare time w/o reassurance from other people. Honestly anyone with 70 ranged, 70 def, and 52 prayer will make it through without any serious trouble. The staking posts are kind of frustrating me... mostly because I can only help people so much without giving away too much critical information. Sadly I feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot if I post all the ins and outs of staking for everyone to see on every staking thread. Similarly, most people who go staking and think they know what they're doing inevitably get cleaned because of their lack of understanding and reliance on luck. There's also a bunch of people giving bad advice for staking but I have to restrain myself from correcting them most of the time lol. I'd love to be able to help people with staking, just like any other RS topic, but when people ask for everything they need to know about staking, IMO it's like asking how/what/when to merchant which items. People will always provide general tips, but no one wants to spill all their secrets. Unfortunately as far as staking goes, if you try and stake knowing only the general principles, you're probably gonna get cleaned :\ Honestly, though, the only thing that really pisses me off in the help and advice forum is when people blatantly insult/patronize people asking for help. If you don't have anything nice to say, just ignore the topic and move on. I think the reason why some of the "elitists" around here have a bad rep is because they are known for being rude. I lost most of my respect for a few of the brilliant minds around these forums after witnessing their lack of emotional intelligence. Fortunately though, there are very few mean-spirited smart posters around here.

How do you use staff of light spec effect with other weapons?
It's definitely bug abuse and you'll get perm-banned w/o an appeal if you get caught

I always do a search before I post a question there... usually it's already been answered several times within the past month.
