  1. do you mean the chaos dwarves at the battlefield? can i even safespot those? You have to be kind of carefull, but you can pray against the cannoneers and safespot the other dwarfs. Eventually they'll lose aggression and you can kill any of them effortlessly. Blue dragons are also easily safespotable, but have relatively high mage def but you won't lose very much. oh contrare my friend, blue dragons actually have a low mage defence even though they are a leather dragon. I had trouble hitting greens with ahrims+surge+stream+c staff lol. Have you ever tried maging blues? if not u should, they have lower mage defence than other leathers for some reason. I actually haven't, but that would seem incredibly odd. I dont know why but i started maging them from 85 to 90 mage just for the fun of it (and for the d bones) and i was hitting them fairly often. what spells/gear should i use at blue drags? i'll prolly be maging them at the membs dungeon once i get a few more agility levels :P I wore Ahrims Top/Bottom, Farseer helm, Glory, Staff of Light, Zamorak Cape (from Mage Arena), Infinity/Mystic Boots, Barrows Glves, Unholy book, Seers Ring. Im not sure what spell to use as i used water surge and still managed to break even on the hides/bones/drops. You should use an arc stream too. Agree'd, only reason i didnt use one at the time as dung hadnt been released yet. Just felt like adding to one of the longest quote chains I've ever seen. haha at this rate its going to be the never ending quote chain Can we just turn this into a quote chain thread? Just wanted to get my name on here...
  2. I'd do this, but nobody wants to see 30 dream theater songs in a row lol
  3. Yes. I'm assuming you waste no time in between kills? If you did, that would not be very efficient...
  4. Nex can moonwalk better than Michael Jackson.
  5. Wonder if you'd protect the pile of charms following today's update :-k
  6. Faster kills doesn't mean less attacks on you. No, thats exactly what it means. Big difference: Hit 4-4-4 on a 12 hp mob (Get hit 2-3 times) Hit 6-6 Get hit 1-2 times Hit 12 Dont get hit, unless monster is aggressive Throw 0's in there and they have more attempts at causing you damage. And what happens after hitting 6-6 and being hit 1-2 times? You move on to the next monster and keep getting hit 1-2 times. The damage you give is as constant as the damage you receive, unless you're 1-hitting every monster-- in which case you're not receiving any damage however you should find a better training spot. The faster you can kill a monster just means the faster you can move on to the next monster... and continue getting hit.
  7. Faster kills doesn't mean less attacks on you.
  8. The only reason I started training there (before free trade) was because they dropped effigies and the undead on Ape Atoll didn't. But now I have no reason to train there, especially when prayer potions are so incredibly cheap!
  9. Because you get MUCH less XP/hour by using the altar instead of prayer pots.
  10. Because extreme pots give a bigger boost than super pots. You can't use extremes at armored zombies w/o using prayer potions. When you go to the altar, you lose the extreme boost. Since you can't use extremes w/o prayer potions, it'd be logical to switch to monkey skeletons instead and be able to use a familiar to give more xp/hour. The only reason to kill AZs w/ extremes and prayer pots would be if you really wanted their drops.
  11. So you wouldn't be able to use the altar, then >_>
  12. By "why isn't it used," do you mean "why doesn't everyone else use it?" :P Most people aren't very smart or creative (as far as PvP goes, at least)... I used to kite in PvP all the time when I PK'd... ranging around stumps in the wild against meleers was always fun... I'd shoot them 4-5 times before they'd hit me once :D Also, luring people around trees w/ mage and then freezing them at key locations was great back when safespotting them existed. Most players just don't click enough to keep up with you... it makes trapping people behind wilderness terrain very easy for escaping also. Kiting just seems like another aspect of RS that people eventually figure out on their own. Takes even more time/creativity to think of situations to generalize kiting to :D
  13. This leads to the question-- under such conditions, does mage or range have better DPS?
  14. Granted, but the OP specified he wants to train at AZ's so I tailored to that :) Using prayer pots & extremes > using supers w/ altar. And if you're gonna use prayer pots you'd probably be better off training at the ape atoll skeletons since you can also bring a combat familiar with you there.
  15. You can't use extremes or overloads at AZs since free trade last time I heard... while you're instanced in "safe" wilderness, the game still thinks you're in the wilderness-- a place where extremes and overloads aren't allowed.
  16. They can't use a SoL if they use the seercull spec >_> Unless I'm completely missing your point, which I probably am hah.
  17. 2 before college. At least 30 after joining Lambda Chi  I consider a "true friend" someone who I can trust my life with, divulge my darkest secrets to, and go to for help when needed. Similarly, I'm always willing to do the same for them.
  18. Metagaming should have its own forum on here for discussions. Let Obt and Grimy moderate it (along with all the other global tipit mods... particularly Quy). If for some reason, conflicts and/or unjust behavior follows, then switch things up again till everything works out. The reason there's problems in H&A is everyone has such strong views on their own preferences/methods, that they start getting personal when defending their stance. Anyone can report such posts and action can be taken. If everyone just takes a moment to refrain from personal/rude comments before posting in a forum built for help and advice (not personal attacks), there shouldn't be any problems. If someone receives bad/incorrect advice, it's not the end of the world. If you are extremely concerned about them receiving the best information (potentially yours), then just PM them it if means you won't have to get into a lengthy unproductive argument with another person who could be ignorant. Or take the argument against the "ignorant" person to PMs also. Don't make everyone else read it because every time it ultimately goes nowhere. Also, with a metagaming forum, one could also just link discussion topics to H&A posts to provide evidence for one's research/claims/advice.
  19. That makes some of this week's events even more disappointing :\
  20. Wal-Mart sells them here
  21. http://grimy.freeforums.org/ Unbanning him won't change anything. In hindsight, it would have been better to not ban him and prevent all the flame wars from happening, but it's too late now. Hindsight is always 20/20.
  22. I remember in preschool, an older kid started pushing me around, so I punched him in the face >_> When the preschool called my mom, she freaked out and grounded me. When she told my dad, he pulled me aside and congratulated me  Never had any problems w/ that kid again... lol I don't see anything wrong with victims retaliating violently to bullying, as long as the violence isn't too extreme and it only happens once. Bullies don't pick on kids who retaliate-- they find other victims who are easier to bully around (assuming they decide to continue bullying others).
  23. Remember back in the day when you and I were the only ones who would ramble about efficiency? lol
  24. Have you ever skimmed through another Runescape fansite? This is exactly why Tip.it is better than most others. Not the main site itself, but the guides in the AOW, the H&A sub-forum, and some of the discussions that take place in GD. It'd be foolish to insist that a fairy unicorn community is at all useful to a gaming forum without CONTENT. Take away the content and your forum is useless to both the average and hardcore gamer. Being knowledgeable is a reason why Tip.It is better than other fansites, not the reason. I've enjoyed my time on these forums since 2004-- long before it was the leader in up-to-date advanced information.
