Thanks for the replies... in response to using the yak for dragons and dagannoths, are you using the winter storage scrolls? Or are you just referring to the extra 30 spaces?

Yeah, got 96 summoning today (woohoo!) Just wondering if someone could list off the top of their head all of the situations in which the pack yak is the superior familiar (for example, situations where it's a better option than the unicorn or a combat familiar). Anyways, I never really planned on getting this far until they announced the bonus xp weekend-- so how can I get the most out of my smelly item carrier? So far I've only found that I can smith 100 more platebodies per hour w/ the yak. Any other uses? Also... can anybody think of uses where the steel titan is useful besides slayer? I'm hesitant to focus on getting 99 summoning since I feel like if I get the steel titan, I'll be torn between using the steel or iron titan (I'm 99 range but 89 def, so I'd rather use iron titan for the defence XP). Any uses for the steel titan as well? Thanks :D

Money isn't an issue... for simplicity sake, assume I make 1M per hour.

Normally I can calculate these things on my own but I'm perplexing myself over what should be a moderately simple calculation. Basically I'm working on getting 86 smithing for the Ardy achievement diary-- I'm smithing mith plates currently. My question is-- at what point during this weekend is it more cost/time-efficient for me to use clay hammers instead of the bonus weekend? I only play "normal" SC games and get 24 points per game, but since each game is 20 minutes and there's a 2 minute waiting period between games, let's make things easier and assume I can only get 3 clay hammers per hour. I'm currently at 1.7x exp, wondering if it would be wise to continue or if I should switch to a different skill to train for the remainder of the weekend.

Without taking a side, I'd like to predict that after receiving a crystal clear statement from Jagex regarding this debate, people will continue to get upset about it and debate it-- though they will no longer be debating whether or not it's against the rules, they'll then debate if Jagex's decision is valid or not to them. Moral of the story: nobody on these forums is ever content lol

don't use wolpentinger... as said above, the magic damage boost only affects one lobster so your charm-gathering rate is unaffected. if you're gonna use the staff of light, get battle robes too... 50% rune-usage is amazing. for familiars, a bunyip is by far the best familiar to bring. bring scrolls too-- if you somehow get low on hp, you can eat the raw lobsters and if you're waiting for lobsters to respawn, you can transmute the raw lobsters into water runes. the bunyip never distracts the lobsters either. and use smoke barrage until you can use ice barrage

Use smoke barrage once you're at that lvl then ice barrage at that lvl... it's more efficient in the long run. Also wear a ring of life, boots of lightness, prayer-boosting cape, and god stole instead. you won't notice any differences in your killing rates w/ max mage boosts compared to about +75 mage att

This. Try four sets of six reps while holding a 35-lb plate. When you can do that, move it up to a 40 lb dumbbell next week, and each week you can do four sets of six, increase the weight by 5 lbs the next week

Don't mean to be rude or anything, but what is your source for this? I've seen this said before (along with similar things like the 20:80 ratio mentioned below your post) but only ever on these forums. I've seen it on Rune wiki too but they don't give a source. Back before trade limits I was a mage staker and fought thousands of opponents... Several of which were 99 in all combat stats, and several were 1 defence but 99 mage. Regardless of their defence level, I'd always have the same accuracy against them. Sometimes I'd kill people w/ 1 defence with four casts, sometimes I'd kill maxed players with four casts. Sometimes I'd splash every spell against someone with 1 defence till they killed me, sometimes I'd splash every spell against a maxed person till they killed me. My opponents' defence levels offered no significant additional protection. Only their magic level and equipment mattered. Also, I'd sometimes do mage vs melee stakes-- in which case I'd only fight people with lvl 85 magic or lower. Several of my opponents were maxed melees but with only like lvl 80 magic... As long as they were below about 85 magic, it was pretty much guaranteed that I'd win. Furthermore, I beat them with 4 casts pretty consistently.

Decided to try out the combination of Familiarisation (3x charms) + staff of light + battle robes in preparation for using all my charms during the bonus XP weekend... After the 40 minutes of 3x charms wore off, these were the results (I started with 6 p pots and 1k barrages [4k death, 2k blood, 6k water]) Had to end the trip early cuz I ran out of bunyips... was about to run out of p pots soon too. The extra junk like nats, coal, and chaos runes are from the maze random event I got upon my return to Edgeville. I brought the god mitre and ahrims cuz I wasn't sure how long the battle robes would last me... I was shocked to see that they last about 6 hours or so. End results: Let's compare! In the past: 4000 deaths, 2000 bloods, 6000 waters got you about 150 gold, 100 green, 350 crim, and 15 blues Now: 2572 deaths, 1266 bloods, 3798 waters gets you 337 gold, 180 green, 709 crim, and 31 blues :D Keep in mind that's with the first 40 minutes of 3x charms. Otherwise, it's just half the cost of runes for the same charm output Time to cash them in next week and get a massive bang for my buck :)

I don't trust the KB a lot of the time-- your defence level has nothing to do with your magic defence
