Waterboarding - Torture?
I can't see anyone arguing that waterboarding isn't torture or that torture as a method of interrogation works...

The Style Thread
Sorry, I decided against the shoes because I found a pair of adidas sneakers in my closet that looked really similar. As for the jeans, I would but the shipping rates for me are really high.

The IB Diploma
It's really not that hard if you put time and effort into it. IB is junior/senior year...

Cars
What's the point of buying a non utilitarian car? I've ridden in a Porsche 911, and the novelty of speeding and how cool it looks wore off in like 20 minutes. Also, what's with the aftermarket spoilers? Unless you do some serious street racing, all that does is draw the attention of cops and make you look like a tool.

College Education
One of my good school friends went to MIT for Bio, and she really doesn't like the undergraduate class vibe because most of her classes are massive and a lot of the students there are hyper-competitive and egotistical. Just because MIT is considered prestigious by some doesn't mean it will necessarily be the best school for you to do CS or EE. If I were you, I wouldn't base my high school years around getting into a particular college considering you might be rejected or disillusioned by what MIT is really like. e: As for improving admissions chances, joining crew would probably help.

Post your shoe sizes!
Funny, Nike's usually run small. A lot of you also have big ass feet. My smallest footwear is a pair of boots which are a size 9. My largest shoe is a size 10.5. I don't know how universal their sizing is across their line of shoes but both the Nike track spikes I purchased ran large.

Your iPhone is secretly tracking you
Old news, don't really care considering I don't go anywhere too sketchy. e: I'm guessing the reason this even exists is for that MobileMe application that lets you locate your lost/stolen iPhone.

Your local public school budgets are being cut
In my opinion, merit-based/test-score based teacher pay is a bad idea. Not everything that is tested is useful, and not everything useful can be tested.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Yeah, I have a pirated copy, but it's in a file format that according to a Google search, is friggin' impossible to open. Apparently you fail then. I'm guessing it's an .iso and he doesn't know of daemontools or nero.

Drinking/Drugs
Recreational or therapeutic drinking / drug use is fine, it's the habitual usage that tends to lead to problems.

LOIC and Hacking: The modern nonviolent protests?
While I can see where parallels can be drawn, sit-ins were personal and bore risk whereas LOIC is far more faceless and the users basically have impunity. Also, many of those who use LOIC don't really care as much about the message of their protest as they care about the lulz of taking down a website.

Scam E-mails.
Yeah, what's really sad about this type of scamming is that there is a whole youth cultural movement in Nigeria glorifying the systematic exploitation of the elderly and gullible.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
I don't know what these are called, but like the packages that have cardboard on the back and plastic on the front. Like the kind cheap electronics come in, yeah those. I swear, there is like no neat way to open them.

Things you don't like on your opposite sex
Are you saying permanently altering your body from the norm to express a message isn't a form of rebellion against society?

Things you don't like on your opposite sex
Do you think before you say some of these things? Honestly? It does. It's distracting and I cringe at the cliche mainstream attitude of it. Care to explain the bolded? :\ Sure. Tattoos are no longer the counter cultural expression they used to be considering how many people have them. The unique and rebellious aspect of them has just really been diluted by their commonality.

Things you don't like on your opposite sex
I don't like women with shallow personalities or delusions about themselves. Definitely not a turn on. e: typo

Project Gun Runner and Operation Fast and Furious
If the Cartel are using weapons and ammunition illegally bought from shops in which the ATF authorized illegal sales, then yes, the blood is on the ATF's hands. There is no way that the blame can be placed, or for that matter, reduced by any degree, anywhere else but on the ATF. Oh, I dunno, how about placing the blame on the killers? This. Off topic a bit, but I was watching CNN last night, and they kept blaming the pastor who burnt the Koran for the attack on the UN compound, as if he did it himself. Not sure where you're getting the 10k for an AK in the states though. Depending on the state, you can get a Eastern European one for less than 1k legally. Authentic Russian ones may run you a bit more, but they aren't that expensive. AKs are really expensive in North America due to high smuggling costs and really stiff penalties (both in Mexico and the US) so $10k is about right. Anywhere east of Poland, you can buy AKs for around hundred bucks, same as in North Eastern Africa and The Middle East. And as long as they aren't made in South East Asia or South America, an AK is an AK so don't bother paying for one that is Russian made.
