  1. It did annoy me a bit you couldn't pick your own BUUUUUT I don't think most of them are all that easy to get via FB/convo without it being obvious. None of the 5 I picked would be gettable via fb or anywhere on the internet to my knowledge. I almost used 'eldest cousin' but then I realised I don't even know that answer. @Arceus this has never existed in the past. You can do that for recovery questions, but it does not let you do it for the JAG questions.
  2. Thank god its a [rooster] up and not intentional.
  3. Ofcourse it did, until prices die down as the gear enters the game. Once it's had a while to settle I don't think it will stay the best money maker, but we'll see. At least now there's more different drops so it means more likely to get one of them instead of nothing. As for drops that are new (ignoring journals) Nex: Torva Gloves Torva Boots Pernix Gloves Pernix Boots Virtus Gloves Virtus Boots Bandos: Bandos Kitehield Bandos Gloves Armadyl: Armadyl Buckler Armadyl Gloves Saradomin: Saradomin's Whisper (melee) Saradomin's Murmur (ranged) Saradomin's Hiss (magic) Armadyl Crossbow Zamorak (I assume these are boss drops anyway): Subjection Hood Subjection Garb Subjection Gown Subjection Gloves Subjection Boots Subjection Ward Notes: Wiki says 'subjection' news says 'subjugation' not sure which is right. Armadyl should have boots and Bandos a helm, both have item pages in official wiki now but neither appear as listed drops atm. Edit: Cause I have been told apparently arma x-bow is a Sara drop.
  4. Sweet jesus only Jagex could take a brilliant concept (2 step verification) implement it in a slightly iffy way (using email and questions) AND make a primary component of device identification something that changes frequently for most of the internet users in the world seeing as dynamic ips are the norm these days thus rendering longterm verification utterly pointless.
  5. Are you sure it works with IP's? Because here in Belgium everyone has a dynamic IP. :s I don't think it does because pretty much every modern router uses dynamic ips and in account settings it calles it 'registration ip address' which to me implies "this is the ip it was registered from" opposed to "this is the ip that is allowed" especially since I had to register both my computers independently and they have the same ip. If it was using ip to identify I'd of only needed to do it for one of them for both to work.
  6. True 1 hit was perhaps a bit hyperbolic, but even so it still seems like a bit of a weird setup to be maxed combat with.
  7. This does add some security for sure, but it does have flaws. Also I think the leylogger thing someone mention is going ott. Yes if you get keylogged and type in the answers you are screwed. BUT one would assume you are not keylogged most of the time and the golden rule applies of if you DO get keylogged you do scans etc. BEFORE password changes. Plus even if you got keylogged there's not much cause for you to be typing the answers in; it only asks for them from new devices so you shouldn't be using them all that frequently (unless via librarys etc often) and even then it involves an email link as well. It would seem to be a rather extreme cause of you effed up if they did manage to abuse you via the JAG using key logging as they'd require all 5 answers, access to your email and your rs log on data, plus one would imagine there is a way to block/ban a device if you get the email and are like wtf no thats not me.
  8. Well yeah now the update is out it is clear: Sara got 3 ammys, Arma got the crossbow. Not seen any confirmation on who is dropping the mage robes, but I'd still assume Zammy.
  9. Nope. Unless they slipped it in very quietly two or so weeks ago. Actually yes, they DID slip it in a few weeks ago. That sounds rather dumb. Amg I r maxed combat cause I has 99 summon and 99 def...but I can't kill anything worthwhile cause I am pure and can only wield noob weapons! Going to guess that you haven't seen steel titans demolishing everything they walk across in the beta :P Can't say I have, though with no more 100% protect prayers etc. I still can't see that ending up too well longterm cause you'd suddenly be like 1 hit by most stuff. Eh? Source/proof? ...This is the first I've heard of it  I'd read about it weeks ago on one of the many Beta forums. That's about the best proof I got. So no you do not have proof then. The old rules apply no QFC/link to a Jmod interview, no proof.
  10. Of course! I mean thats why people use the uber defensive void robes and always always turn down thoose crummy Bandos boots for the Dragon ones which have so much extra defence! And lest we forget how people ditch that awfully weak barrows gears for Bandos armour with its much higher defence boosts or how everyone uses defenders over shields because they are like supermen of defence stats. [/sarcasm]
  11. Yes but why would people pay 5m for an amulet when these newer better ones are liable to be much cheaper when they get into circulation? AND if fury does lose value people aren't going to want to put all the effort in to get onyx as it won't be profitable.
  12. Hmmm this JAG thing isn't as good as it could've been (eg the whole verification codes etc.) but I suppose it still helps.
  13. Fury's prob gonna crash harrrddddd
  15. I doubt many would draw the same 'Zammy will be quietest' conclusion because you've reached it from false logic of Zammy not having new drops particularly. After all from concept arts etc Zammy would appear to be getting an entire mage robe set (ergo completing the combat triangle of GWD armours) whilst Sara gets a x-bow and Bandos and Arma and Nex of course get the helm/boots/gloves/shields they are 'missing' In fact judging by what info we have I'd expect Sara to be the quietest because they seem to be getting the least new stuff. Afterall assuming this mage set is not entirely wrong (but why should it the concept says 'new robes,' it has a zammy esque symbol on it, its red and black which are zammy colours and it looks in keeping with the zammy boss conept arts. Though it is feasible its concept for one of nex's mages, though why only the 1 when theres 4 variants for thoose guys? We ought to have for new drops, assuming the mage robe pans out: Zammy: Gloves, Boots, Legs, Body, Helm (and possibly a shield/book too to be in keeping with the 'complete sets' thing) Nex: Gloves x3 Boots x3 Virtus Wand and Virtus Book (though the book might not come yet seeing as it is the dual wield mage item, and the same could be perhaps true of the wand though Soloman already stocks a wand reskin so who knows!) Arma: Gloves, Boots, Buckler Bandos: Gloves, Helm, Shield Sara: Crossbow
  16. Nex certainly doesn't need to be made easier, game progression will deal with that. I mean once upon a time KQ, KBD, DKS, the GWD bosses etc. all had their time as being uber hard need pretty much max gear to battle; but new stuff comes and when it does it makes them easier. It's not really a case of the boss should be made easier to allow for something more powerful, it's a case of when we do get more powerful gear it will become easy enough to warrant a new stronger boss being designed.
  17. True. However, it depends. Jagex spends months and months designing the nuke, Optimus, and others to break them... And it's only temporarily. You could even go so far as to say that they've put forth just as much effort into breaking them as detecting them. And we can all agree that their detection systems are garbage to say the least. :P. And you're right; there is no permanent break. I believe that's why Jagex removed the quote, "which will permanently deal with," from the micortrasactions post. I don't think it's true that it takes more to detect a bot than to break it. I mean lets take an injection box for example. If you discover the injection, which is an anomaly a normal player would not cause, it seems to me like it'd take more work to find a way to block it than it does to make a script that notices that anomaly and applies a ban to the relevant account. After all breaking them requires noting how they are doing it then finding clever ways to make that no longer functional without breaking the game as a whole; detecting them for auto-bans simply requires noting how they are doing it and having a script dole out a ban to accounts doing it.
  18. Because it has two ways to end, much like pest control, either the timer ends OR the hunger meter gets filled up. While it is busy the meter will fill up first, when it gets quieter it will run 20mins then expire.
  19. If you have the ability to opt into it then I would definitely recommend it. If the Botany bay bot nuke is as successful as Jagex believe it to be then the goldfarmers are going to turn to account thefts for their gold stocks. At least until bot developers overcome the new deterrents. I hope they last for a good time, and/or make it not worth the trouble. I personally believe nothing Jagex does can successfully break all bot programs permanently (unless they can keep innovating faster than the developers can work around it). But it might be possible to do something that makes bot developers and gold farmers move to a new game. Well the main thrust of their newest botnuke move seems to be less about bot breaking and more about bot detection (as mentioned in an interview or two); they are working on a system that actually can accurately identify and ban bots autonomously. This is definitely a move in the direction of keeping them out more long term because, whilst it would need testing, if a new work around emerges they can just add extra tests into the system that can find those bots. It'll become much less appealing to spend hours on end coding a work around if they know Jagex could fairly swiftly tweak their detection system to capture it, certainly we have to wait and see how it pans out but it does sound promising thus far.
  20. The sentence structure here feels wrong and the whole flow of the writing to me seems dull and uninspired; it amounts to little more than a sequential telling of events, without flowing or particularly grabbing my attention. Just my opinion. What you mean by 'it amounts to little more than a sequential telling of events' because (ignoring complexities of flashback and non-linear timelines) does not all writing amount to a sequential telling of events? Also what makes it 'dull and uninspired'? These just seem like very broad generic terms which don't really give me anything to actually look at in order to make potential edits. It may just be a case of a style that does not suit your taste, but it'd certainly be helpful if you could perhaps give a clearer picture of what you find wrong with it. Especially seeing as the one sentence you did quote as example is actually just a sentence fragment in my draft as it stands, as a stand alone sentence was part of a suggestion on grammatical alterations.
  21. Most likely would be a tick box that allows you to verify that computer for a period of a few weeks/months (google do it this way) though any other computer would require a code to be entered still.
  22. All information points to an optional system so no need to be pissed off :) As relatively stupid as it would be to not use it (assuming of course it has enough methods to appease phoneless etc) it definitely would be optional. Other than online banking I can't think of a single service that enforces extra security and RS certainly has no precedent for it seeing as you can entirely avoid having recovery questions if you never fill them out and bank pins are optional.
  23. "It'll work with RuneScape and um...uh...Stellar Dawn? No we cancelled that. FunOrb? Nah, no one plays that. 8Realms? Nope, that's gone too. Transformers! Yea, that's our one project we didn't waste money on." I'm still convinced that the only reason Transformers wasn't cancelled was because Jagex actually has contractual obligations to Hasbro. I did say 'whenever they finally get other projects launched' for a reason. That being they did can all bar Transformers of their known projects, but they have said they do intend to do future projects BUT as stand alone things in their own offices with proper teams opposed to a sort of hobby team in the corner of rs offices that gets distracted and stuff (which is basically what all the others have been so far)
  24. So torva is basically worthless? Though you have to consider how much those numbers mean, sure 200 more isn't big numerically, but then 75>80 isn't a big level gap. Plus consider defence value has only increased by 2600 from iron to bandos in 74 levels, thats like +34 per level which in direct linearity would mean torva only needs to be 170 better to keep that trend, so 200 more actually seems quite generous. Also consider that defence and life points are MUCH more important in the new combat, that +200 to defence and +400 to health makes more difference than you might think at a glance. Certainly the Nex armours aren't in the same position as they are atm where there's a massive gulf between them and Bandos because proper tiering of stats has brought them much closer as befits armours divided by only 5 levels and most likely they won't hold as higher market value as they have up until now because of this; but they certainly aren't worthless.
  25. The mock-ups are no doubt similar to what it will be though I expect it to be much plainer and no direct RS related stuff. They are after all calling it the Jagex Account Guardian, not the Runescape Account Guardian; the implication being it's going to a device with generic Jagex wide application whenever they finally get other projects launched (eg transformers etc.)
