Tip.It Times Presents: The Plight of the Safe Spot
frogact replied to Turtlefemm's topic in General Discussion
Regardless of what anyone thinks about safe spots, the design of this game requires them. I've always thought it a little strange that a dragon can't step over a small pile of human bones and that a giant is too dumb to walk around a table, but because of the way this game is made, range and mage(in combat) can not be trained as efficiently as melee without the use of safe spots which brings imbalance. In other games it is possible to range a creature from a distance with a character that is agile enough to dodge attacks. In other games mages are powerful enough to kill something from a distance and finish it before it reaches them with a melee attack. That is not the case in runescape. A few posts back level 86 ranger said that he never uses safe spots. I'd very much like to know how you did that. Did you range cows for 5 years? Lastly, when I began to read this topic I was completely disgusted by the rude treatment of the author. Then I realized that those comments are likely coming from people who have nothing of any real value to say about the topic up for discussion but must hear themselves say something. so...I decided to cut them slack for being socially disabled and not flame them all to hell which is what they deserve. How's that for anger management? I admire your bravery, kittyKat, and appreciate the time you spend to better this community. I wish more people would follow your example. I hope you keep writing! -
I don't know about now, but I can tell you why people used to do it.. to get the kill! Period. A pker goes in the wildy to get kills/loot. trying to find honor in random player killing is just stupid to me unless it's a player involved in a clan war or planned fight or dm. Those are different circumstances. As far as I'm concerned, to a rogue pker, anything and everything is fair game. If you don't like it don't go there. You could probably get a less vague answer if you would describe your specific circumstances and check the teen l33t sp34k at your clan chat door. Side note: this discussion is a rant in disguise which really annoys me.

trawler + humidify, morally wrong? or just smart?
frogact replied to jessy87's topic in General Discussion
bailing buckets are immune to humidify. Yes, I did try it. I wonder if it helps the diehard fisher peeps to know that the freeloaders at least have to right click empty? I don't really see anything wrong with it if the fish loads of other players are not affected. 'sides it's a pretty slow way of getting magic exp. Maybe they could add fishing exp related to how much work you do or link the rewards to fishing level plus zeal. But I have a feeling peeps would scream about that too. I'm rather entertained at the banter between the fishers and freeloaders. I think I would miss it even though I don't trawl all that often. And I have done both freeloading and working. Trust me, I've bought plenty of swamp paste and rope. I really don't see what the big deal is. Also, I have seen players spend the entire trip screaming at freeloaders while not doing a lick of work themselves. so what does that make them, freeloaders? My favorite thing to hear is "let's sink the boat to teach the freeloaders a lesson" huh? How does it teach me a lesson if i still get my magic exp but no one gets any fish. -
That is not at all strange. It is common in other games for mages to wield daggers because they don't have the physical strength for other melee weapons. What is strange in this game is that powerful mages actually CAN build enough strength to wield hammers and such. :?

One of the best qualities of Runescape is that it appeals to people of all ages.
-
thanks guys,, I hadn't even thought to check there.

One of the quest rewards listed is: "The ability to steal from Customs lockers" After the quest I checked at Rimmington and there is only a store option for banking so where can you steal from customs lockers?

You have four skills that are half way to 99 and the rest are not even close. I don't say that to be rude just to point out that you have definitely not beaten the game and there is still plenty to do. Maybe you just need a break from rs. I do it often. As for the social aspect, unfortunately, the new runescape is a much quieter, lonelier game than classic was due to the addition of several loner skills and not enough combat areas that will support large numbers of players, other than the mini-games and boss areas. To make friends why don't you join a clan that suits your play style. That's the best and fastest way if you're not into cw, pc, or dueling.

Meeting History-Mini Quest(Enchanted Key)
frogact replied to guitar_god_2007's topic in General Discussion
Did you do the Key hunt after the 1st quest "making history" because so far all the rewards are the same No, I dropped it. So I guess I have to do all the old ones first. -

I just found a guthix mjolnir on one of mine. -
lol I thought of another one. Uncerting fish in draynor, chop a tree, light fire, cook fish, recert, over and over and over again. Everyone new who the skill buyers were. lol. I had this one friend who had apparently looked up to me until the day he happened up to me in Draynor and discovered that I was buying cooking levels. He said "OMG< FRoggy! buying levels!!." then walked off and I never saw or heard from him again. Yes, I buy skills. LOL. that was sometime in 02 or 03 and I'm still not 99 cooking. :P

I didn't see a lot of attitude in the most recent "old school topic" and I certainly don't remember anyone saying "old school" means better than anyone else. In fact, I said "or just old" in my post. I don't normally like them but it is kind of fun to do the remember when.. type reminiscing if you've been around awhile. But whatever, if you don't want to read it don't open the topic. It's really kind of silly to get yourself all worked up over someone saying they're old school in a video game. And RSC was the best. The new runescape can be quite lonely at times, tbh.

Spirit of Summer-Item Lending Update
frogact replied to Master_Smither's topic in General Discussion
He has to be standing on or very near the disc. If I remember right the ground area lights up when he is close enough. I know that on at least one of mine the beast's feet were not touching the disc. If he gets on it you have to be quick or he'll snatch the familiar. -
If you think TKS is a guy you are NOT old school.
-
I have found that usually when one has to tell the world they are something, they probably aren't that thing at all. Anyway, fishing for raw lobsters to buy party hats with when they were selling for 5k ea. I think that's old school, or maybe just old. 8-)

Thanks for reminding me of all the reasons why i don't spend much time at RSOF -
Missing crafting calculator item - perfect shell
frogact replied to leebrave's topic in Completed Website Corrections
They are not rare at all. I am there slaying now and have gotten 5 in 20 kills. I just came over here trying to find out what the heck to do with them and ran across this topic. -
Don't think so, because for every lower level you need an actual level 85 miner to stand there and assist them. You won't find too many rune miners who will stand around and assist someone mining loads and loads of rune. No worries there. Yup, this is true. I just had this with att. A lvl 45 wanted my 99 att.

How can this be made .01 kb smaller please? lol I have photoshop. [/img]

I am speaking as a mom of teenagers. The best time to tell is now unless there are some extenuating circumstances involved such as the parent having an abusive history. You are children yourselves and your parents need to and most likely want to be involved in your lives in order to help you make the best possible decisions for yourselves and the grandchild. You have said previously that your family would be supportive. Are you worried that hers won't be? If that's the case, at least tell your family for now and let them help. Regarding your legal questions, you will need to research your state's child welfare code. This looks like a good place to start. http://dss.sd.gov/

When can we expect the sequel? What singing?
