  1. No. Edge Furnace with Jeffery is like... A hot chick with an ugly mole: The mole is offputting, but you you tolerate it because the rest is good. Who the hell actually likes Jeffery?
  2. Why on earth not? It's the most difficult useful skill to train. Only don't use effigies on summoning if you care about things like agility, slayer and runecrafting and want to max.
  3. I hear at maxed killspeeds, glacors actually result in more xp/hour than waterfiends and even bursting rock lobs, when you count all the blues and effigies. I don't know much about that minigame, but i hear talon charms are definatley not very fast to get. And getting the second best alternative while spending the extra time collecting more charms would be MUCH more efficient. But if you're doing the minigame for other reasons, picking up all the charms along the way would probably add up quite a bit.
  4. Spend months searching for a Hex. Get one. Casually play dungeoneering. Get 50 hexes a dungeon. Jagex: umad?
  5. I am also killing 1000 mithril dragons (Seriously. What a coincidence :o) and would love to see your logs and compare my own. (I'm only noting important drops such as effigies, chewed bones, dfh... etc) Storm of armadyl is just rediculously expensive. I don't think there is anywhere in runescape other than PVP where it would be cost efficient to anyone that isn't 200b bank. I'm currently using karils, rapier and d defender because i lost void recently. I think when i get it back i'll try deflector for a few 100 kills as i already have one but no gloves, and i hear its much better defense and not much worse DPS.
  6. The pack yak's special (Winter storage scroll) instantly sends an item in your inventory to the bank when you use it on the item. I believe that this has the same rules as storing items in your familiar (no untradables, no items worth X value) but it works wonders for things like dragons or abby demons, where banking the bones and ashes and camping them for an almost infinite time is useful. That and all the things i mentioned above.
  7. Well that's certainly different from the calculator i've tried (Although mithril dragons seems similar, which is the oddity i was trying to work out) I guess i just got lucky. (5 effigies in 151 kills) I mean i knew 5 in so few kills was lucky already, but from the calculator and graph saying about 1/160, i pretty much performed a miracle. And could someone PM this he-who-shall-not-be-named forum? I've heard a lot about it, but obviously never seen it. Why is it blocked in the first place, bitter rivalry?
  8. Hi. I've heard that ancient effigies are directly related to the combat level of the enemy and nothing else. But how exactly are they related? It's obvious a level 300 drops more often than a level 100, but by how much? I used runescape wiki's calculator for some calculations, but after actual experience i'm either the luckiest person on runescape, or it's grossly inaccurate. So yeah. Anyone have the exact formula, or at least intelligent approximations?
  9. Having a yak is great for pretty much anything in runescape. Over double the inventory space, with instant banking is just invaluable. When bossing it not only lets you stay much longer as you can bring more supplies, but you can also bank smaller drops such as ourg bones at Graardor you'd usually just leave or bury. The above is especially important at GWD and DKs as getting to them (killcount/long walk) takes valuable time, so re-supplying is more difficult and cuts into your profit/hour. Less important at things such as Corp as getting there and to a bank takes little effort, only really useful for holding the extra supplies if you can't survive off the 20 or so brews you bring without a BoB. (If you're using that much per kill, it's probably best not to do corp in the first place) I see that you're 96 summoning now from your siggy. Have fun. :)
  10. Key point being a few prayer points. Not a noticable difference. Having the supers for boosting right up after a brew is useful and saves time overall if going for a fast firecape, and if you're using melee, i assume you want this. But whatever, use the slightly better prayer restoration you don't need. I'm a fool.
  11. Grats on winning. And i beat him with a whip and dragon defender, piety, supers, 80's stats... And still had lots of food remaining. So yeah, whip is easily done. I think the main issue is using the kyatt or not. It does a lot of damage WHILE YOU EAT which is just invaluable. And it's suprisingly accurate.
  12. The difference between a prayer pot and super restore at your level is a few prayer points and a few 100gp... I think it would be wise to go for all supers, even if they're not needed at any specific moment to help your ovls. I say 12 total because i like to piety most of the caves to speed it up a lot, and it still leaves a lot of room for brews incase you make mistakes or simply take damage, and you really don't need like 20 brews, which you could do if you were super prayer conservative.
  13. Alrighty then. I just assumed you failed the switches. If you can handle range, sure, go for melee. :)
  14. If you can't kill jad with range you're going to have a hell of a time with melee... (and no claws/chaotic/veng for a speedy kill) Use about 13 brews, 12 sup restores, 2 ovls, claws(DDS?!?) Oh. Veracs skirt and torags top. Do not use prossy top, you want as high defense as possible, and your prayer is already high enough. Personally though, i'd just range it at your levels. Your range is good, you don't have a chaotic, you don't have soulsplit, you don't have exceptionally high melee stats, and don't have enough jad experience to get a melee kill without getting extremely lucky.
  15. Meh. I could swear rapier does a better job in my experience, and i'm far from maxed. Although my most common tanker does use a bgs, so that may account for the faster kills with rapier over maul.
  16. No protect prayer does anything against him, didn't you see that cutscene where he owned the mager? :P. Just melee him and use soulsplit + turmoil 24/7... Safe up if he ever gets you to about 600hp with rocktails. When he does his max-1 hp you obviously want to eat to over full hp. Turn off autoretaliate so you don't walk into the mines by accident, that got me my first time >.< Other than that, theres not much to say. He only hits about 350 at max, so you really shouldn't die unless you walk into a mine, are slow on the wrath hide, or run out of food.
  17. Summon a war tortoise and fill it with rocktails before the fight. Have a kyatt and 100 ambush scrolls in the inventory. Once you've eaten 18 food, dismiss the tort and summon the kyatt. Now spam the hell out of the special. Melee void is brilliant there, but dhide (karils prefered) body and legs, with helm of nez and barrows gloves is perfectly fine. I've personally done it once with rapier and once with whip (Two seperate accounts), i found it easy with whip and d defender, and i'm not sure how spear compares to it in all honestly, but it's probably not much difference either way. Rest of your gear should be max strength (dboots, fcape etc...) I used all rocktails for food with 1 brew just for the defense boost and partially for healing fast after his full hp -1 attack (totally not needed, but nice to have) and finished with over 10 rocktails left on both accounts, both of which were worse than yours. (Soulsplit makes the fight a complete joke. You will need to eat much less often.) BGS is great for lowering his defense for the whole fight, but dds or claws is a great alternative for dealing heavy damage, especially in his final and most difficult stage. It's honestly a very easy fight to melee. The only 'tactic' you have to do is after he lays his mines, avoid stepping into them, and hide behind the pillar just until he runs upto you. Now attack him near the pillar until he goes to do his wrath attack, at this point you simply step behind the pillar and wait for him to run back, that and the pre-summoned full war tortoise and kyatt combo. Hope this helped.
  18. I can understand the crawlers seeing as theres only so accurate your cannon can be on such weak creatures, and the rapiers damage would probably cinche the deal. But i do not understand your bandos. If maul is the best, then how come absolutley no one uses maul at bandos other than people without a CLS? I'm pretty confident that a CLS and dragon defender would be considerably better DPS than a maul on a maxed account. Or are you literally just saying that it's more accurate, as in hits less 0's per hit? Because that's pretty obvious...
  19. That's just wrong.
  20. CLS > Rapier > Maul at maxed stats at bandos, right? I've been testing, and with 91 attack, piety, extremes, maxed strength gear... Rapier seems to be significantly better than maul on graardor, with dragon defender of course. On topic to the question, i'm very biased as i only have rapier and maul, but maul is magnificant. It's not exactly the 'best' in many cases, but it's just fun to use and never far from being the best, unlike any other slow weapon. It's great at waterfiends, it's great for cannoning where you rely mostly on the cannons damage (cave crawlers + dagganoths) and it's just fun to use in general. It's great for TD's if you want to take a more relaxed approach, as someone else mentioned rapier is technically more dps, but watching for prayer switches and changing before you waste a hit takes a lot more effort. I personally quite like to use it for a speed kill (dragon claw spec - dragon claw spec - chaotic maul) as that's the most damage you can do in a short amount of time and is great for pvp or fast damage in a FFA boss team. ^^ TL;DR i <3 maul Can't really say much on the others, but CCB is almost essential for nex. So you'll want that eventually. (And i'm pretty sure it's prefered at arma, too.) CLS is decent for GWD and possibly high armoured PVP, but rapier destroys it anywhere else. (Of course if using a spec weapon, you'd prefer rapier for PVP as it results in a faster special out of nowhere) Staff... Meh. I'd prefer SoL over it for anything due to the runes saved and no repair rate. Rigour. Good for nex/arma/TDs Aurgury... Pretty darn awful. Aren't leeches more effective than 20% magic attack anyway?
  21. It depends what you do in the half hour, technically you could get a lot more experience a day from the 2.5% when training herb/pray/summoning... But you can max those in a few days at the rate you'd have to be gaining xp, plus spending a lot of GP, so it's kinda useless in the longrun. I agree. I'd much rather have this than Wisdom.
  22. Yeah, that's exactly what i mean. Hunt waterfiends for crimsons but obviously pick up all the golds/greens/blues too. By the time you have the golds for the low levels, you'll also blow many higher levels with crimsons. Hunting golds specifically doesn't make much sense to me unless you're desperate to get 24 summoning and stop there for some bizzare reason.
  23. Edge dungeon there are 3 very fast spawns, you can get upwards of 100 crimsons an hour here banking ashes (+ great effigies and profit), more if using infernal urns. it's possibly better than AC waterfiends and very little competition/bots. I see no reason why you wouldn't use it there.
  24. Revs only give like 1/40th of the experience you get elsewhere though... Pretty awful. I think i'll just do hellhounds in the old BH area if i can't find someone for me to hit. And you're right about range, even with the brawlers i probably wouldn't get as much as red chinning, and it won't even be much cheaper either. Such a shame to waste them though...
  25. I believe you get to choose any skill you like, just like an xp lamp. (That's a guess.) Saradomin mage is correct, but for your convenience i worked out a few levels so you don't have to do any maths. Level 50: 2500 xp Level 60: 3580 xp Level 70: 4860 xp Level 80: 6340 xp Level 90: 8020 xp Level 99: 9703 xp Almost 10k a day free experience is pretty nice. But i think i'm going to save for vampirism or a future aura.
