  1. Assuming you can beat the bots and be constantly killing them, which can be a hassle. You might be able to do it in the tunnels using hard hitting weps, but I'm not sure. The nice thing about barrows is that they have no competition and no bots to affect your rate of kills. The bots do, however, affect the prices. Drastically.
  2. RoW doesn't matter if lootsharing, only if you're FFA or solo (since the drops are solo then not lootshare) It should increase your chance of rare drops if you're soloing but it shouldn't decrease drops unless by increasing rare drops it technically decreases less rare drops. What exactly is a 'rare drop' though? Strictly items from the 'rare drop table/roulette' or items such as Bandos Tassets? I've heard that slayer related items such as whip are now effected, but i don't know about GWD items.
  3. So recently i was at bandos and a guy in the clan instructed us all to take off our RoWs as it makes bandos items appear less often. I doubted it, but oblieged anyway. So how does RoW effect GWD solos? Does it increase bandos items, or just increase crap like uncut sapphires, and does it DECREASE anything? How is it different in lootshare? I think i'm just going to use zerk (i) regardless, unless the change is significant, but i'd like to know just whats going on.
  4. 1/100 for A gwd item? or 1/100 per gwd item? (Thus 1/25 at armadyl...) First one implies that Saradomin and Zamorak hilt is much more common than Bandos and Armadyl, as theres fewer other items to get. I do not believe that for one second. Second one implies a 1/25 drop rate, which is obviously wrong.
  5. Honestly barrows isn't really worth doing with current prices. I'm pretty sure you'd make more money/hour on average doing something like killing green dragons.
  6. I hear all GWD bosses have a 1/250 droprate of none godsword rares EACH (bando boots, arma body, sara sword, zamorak spear etc.) ((So arma would be 1/83.3 chance of getting an armour piece per kill, plus a tiny chance from the minions, too.) and 1/400 for the hilt. But this is just 'some guy said...' and i don't have any figures, i'm very interested in someone showing some facts with proof :D It's always cost efficient regarding supplies vs money made unless you 100% morrigans javelins or something absurd, but not neccessarily the 'best thing you can do' for money
  7. Equilibrium will lessen overkill and be more useful for slayer and killing lots of weak things like chaos druids. Vampire along with soulsplit will allow you to camp most of runescape without any food. Hitting a 500 with it and soulsplit heals you for 125 lifepoints. Few creatures other than bosses can damage you faster than you can heal with this and good stats/equipment. Penance along with soulsplit = godmode. Get damaged? Soulsplit heals it. Soulsplit drains your prayer? Penance replenishes it. You would literally not need any food or prayer pots for the majority of runescape. Just flick soulsplit when damaged.
  8. I've been curious about that for a while... So SoA with an Armadyl battlestaff is more DPS than a rapier/cls at graardor? I wonder what price the runes are going to settle at. At 40 KPH you could make 533 runes an hour... 2k each rune would still be over 1m/hour profit just from shards, plus all the boots and effigies and other drops, i think that sounds like a reasonable stable price to expect. That's 3m/hour cost for casting. Gonna have to be a hell of a difference for that to be more efficient that a chaotic anywhere other than PvP.
  9. Killing waterfiends in ancient caverns with a bunyip and protect from range and piety at all times is about 100 crimsons an hour, and only a 100k an hour loss at most with possible profit. You also get about 70k/hour combat experience and a decent effigy rate. Ice bursting rock lobsters is roughly 200 crimson charms an hour, and with SoL and charged battle robes, should only cost you about 500k an hour at most in runes, magic pots and prayer pots. Great magic experience. Ice barraging rock lobsters is roughly 250 crimson charms an hour, and with SoL and charged battle robes, should cost about 950k an hour at most in runes, magic pots and prayer pots. Amazing magic experience. Another great method is cannoning the black demons in edgeville dungeon. You can get over 100 crimsons an hour, nice profit, and much more effigies than the above methods. (I mention effigies as they can be used on summoning xp, giving 36k summoning each at level 90 summoning* PLUS an average of 11250 experience from opening the effigy with summoning yourself (You can do so starting at 87, using clan citadal boosts, you should be saving your effigies for at least this high anyway.) PLUS an extra 78750 experience in other skills if you open them yourself too, per effigy.) *Amount of xp given from the dragonkin lamp you get from the effigy is related to your level, so it's highly advised to save your effigies until you're at least 90, possibly 87 if impatient.
  10. Thanks for the huge list, i appreciate it. Why C staff, spectral/arcane, ragefire, ahrims, farseer (i), armadyl staff + runes though? As far as i can tell, the only boss you'd ever want to mage is Rex, and he can be maged in melee gear (Or at least lower tier magic gear) quite successfully. All of this seems like kind of a waste. (Plus wasn't there a huge thread about magic defense doing very little after a certain point, making spectral rather useless? Not to mention the free Sacred clay shield with the same stats.) Also are there any bosses where steel titan would be prefered over a uni or Yak? Only one i can think of is TD's but i'd imagine by the time i'm 99 summoning i'll be pretty much finished with TD's and onto things like nex. I think i'm going to slowly chip my way towards the quest cape to start off with and unlock things like EEE and access to TD's, then i can start making some real money and level pray/herb/summ from TD's, as well as gradually improving my gear as i go, somewhere inbetween finish off maxing combat in dungeoneering while going for the other rewards i'm missing.
  11. What? No. I've played runescape for over 6 years. I'm just looking for some good advice on what to do next. What makes you say that?
  12. I'm currently pretty far from the quest requirment for TDs but i guess that would be a good and useful goal to set myself. I really don't care about things like slayer. I do not intend on maxing the account, just the combat side. (Slayer is poor money, mediocre xp, mediocre charms, low effigies.) Last time i tried frosts there were literally 3 bots per dragon, i might try some forign worlds, but i hear they're not much better. I've started training farming recently, but i tend to forget about it or simply not feel like doing it. I hear torstols are great money though, so i'll probably be more likely to put the effort in when i have more money to give me incentive. I have very little experience with DKs... Should i be solo maging rex? Cannon hybrid solo? Duo? Mass? I used to enjoy and be fairly successful in the wilderness long ago, but since then my account has gained far too many combat levels with very little benefit to pking, and having piety at 123cb is just asking to be owned. I will never stake or dice unless the odds are heavily in my favour and there is zero chance of being scammed. (Not going to happen.) I may look into cannoning black dragons/demons as both are fairly profitable, decent effigies, some melee xp, some ranged xp and plenty charms (with demons)
  13. Has chaotic maul and rapier. Arcane stream necklace too. Full void including deflector. Barrows gloves. Many d defenders. SW cape. Ability to imbue multiple rings (berserker, warrior, onyx etc..) Have charms for 80 summoning, also 30 ancient effiges banked that are going to be used on summoning experience at a later date. Only have about 1m bank currently =/ What i want is a basic guide starting from now to being an awesome boss killer. (GWD, corp, nex) Including how to make starting money, which skills to train, how to train them, what gear to get and use... Everything. I want overloads and turm but i'm too poor and don't have any good money making methods... I've been duo/trioing Graardor hoping for some drops, but have had rather bad luck.
  14. Alch fishing requires constant concentration as you must alch each fish as it catches. Compare this to clicking a spot and leaving the computer for a few minutes, dropping all fish and clicking another spot. But i understand what you're saying, you don't really need to FOCUS as you do it. Slayer is only efficient for combat if you actually care about training slayer in the first place. There are far faster ways to train combat, collect charms and effigies. RC is arguabley one of the fastest skills if we're talking 'infinite wealth' though. You can quite easily pay off multiple low levels to unnote your essence and run back, leaving you to only craft runes and trade, getting insane speeds if done efficiently. (Pay them in advance or afterwards to speed up each individual trade by a considerable speed.) Hell, if you get low enough levels, they'd probably be grateful to make 300k/hour each. 10 on your payroll should get well over 150k/hour experience possibly while profiting from all the runes.
  15. Fishing is suprisingly time consuming (suprising to me at least) compared to most skills. With a max speed being about 70k/hour, 60k/hour if you don't use high concentration methods like drop 1 fishing. Slayer is slow and takes a lot of effort as it's not just campi botting 1 enemy over and over like other combat training. Some could argue that this is more fun, and it's certainly great for training combat and summoning all at the same time. Difficult to pinpoint an average xp/hour here as tasks vary so wildy, but if you blocked/skipped all 'bad xp' tasks, you can get upwards of 50k/hour xp. Summoning (Collecting charms.) is pretty slow even using the best (generally expensive) methods. Getting 250 crimson an hour at lobsters at level 96 would give you about 110k/hour, but training from lower levels would be far less xp as the amoutn of xp per charm depends on what you summon, and higher requires higher levels. Agility is slow from level 1-99 and theres no escaping it. At maax level it's roughly 70k/hour experience. Runecrafting isn't as bad as people make out. You can get 50k/hour xp at ZMI altar, which isn't far behind the above skills. Those are all the skills that are slow even with an infinite bank. For some players, herblore may be one of the slowest skills as they will clean a low level herb or make a low level potion + prepare the secondaries for minimal loss, which equates to something rediculous like 20k/hour experience. Prayer with big bones is about 60k/hour experience, yet a lot cheaper than the faster bones. If you only ever do herb runs for maximum profit, farming is incredibley slow too. (Impossible to say the xp an hour as its essentially 5 minutes work, 80 minutes wait) If you can only afford to make gold amulets with crafting, you're looking at 36k/hour xp. I have no idea why i wrote this massive wall of text. It was going to be a few lines post but i just kept writing. Feel free to tell me i'm wrong about every single thing i've said, pro people. :)
  16. The deflect method no longer works. Also, melee is a lot faster than ranged. 50 defence pures can't use dragon defensive gear. Whoa deflects got nerfed at jad? I'd personally melee everything except the 360s (I'd still kite the occasional claw special to speed kills up, but not constant melee as i'm not too confident with my kiting.) and 45s (they deflect small amounts of melee damage, it adds up.) Then on jad i'd range him until the healers come, and then spec him out before they do their job (Remaining venged, if i make a mistake it will help, but i won't rely on it.). This makes it a hell of a lot easier to survive, and will realistically only take about 30 seconds to a minute longer than rapier, at most, i'm sure you can wait that long. I just thought of a no effort way to kill jad on a main (That recently got nerfed apparantly, typical.) just bring lots and lots of brews and good defense/prayer gear. Now simply range jad from a distance with deflect mage prayer constantly on. Everytime you get hit with range, brew up like crazy and re-veng, only using super restores when you're well above 970 lifepoints. You should be able to tank the occasional range hit, and easily outheal any damage unless very unlucky. The amount of deflect and vengeance damage, along with your no effort ranging, should be more than enough to kill him before you run out of brews or he miraculously hits two huge hits in a row to kill you. It's highly likely that you'll kill him before he manages to kill you, only issue would be the healers, but i still think this would heavily outdamage them. Even without deflects that method would probably easily kill jad, but it would be a lot more effective with them.
  17. Just looking at your siggy tells me you probably won't appreciate this advice, but i'd recommend you get 99 fishing with barbarian fishing, you'd get a few 100k free agility experience doing so, so you wouldn't have to do more work than neccessary. Plus it's the fastest fishing experience last time i checked. If you don't have the lunar spells from livid farm yet, unlocking those gets you roughly 300k agility experience too.
  18. You should easily be capable of averaging 2m+ hour at TDs with your current stats, and if you have it banked, getting a uni would be much more useful than prayer (for tds). Claws are not crashing, they only fell because of xpweekend and everyone being focused on supplies instead of rares/expensive weapons. (Ok they are, but not by a significant amount to make it not worth doing) TDs are a little luck based, sure, but 1/150 is better than hunting for a 1/10000 DFH or something stupid. You should be able to consistantly get at least one pair a week if you play a few hours a day. I am totally with you by the way, i dispise how you need money to make money on such an extreme scale. Blame jagex for allowing the bot situation to get as bad as it is.
  19. firecape > ardy > sw if using rapier. firecape > sw > ardy is using whip.
  20. If you're going to put so much effort into fishing, why not just do dungeoneering C2 floors? I hear it's better fishing experience overall and would take less effort than the above. What's this about purple sweets? I love me an impractical yet best method :D
  21. Cannoning cave crawlers for effigies is a great way to get (few) charms and (many) effigies, all of which can be used on summoning experience and get no hitpoints experience. But of course this will get you some range experience and level you eventually. I mean i wouldn't generally advise using effigies at such a low level, you should save till higher, but if that is your goal, that's probably the best way to do it.
  22. Lol theres no way that is correct. (50+ mage attack) And restoring prayer would be awesome for slayer, but you need to use the crappy weapon for the effect so it's rather useless in practical terms.
  23. It drains a small amount of prayer, has bad mage and melee stats and only a little better prayer than other equipment. Expect it to crash pretty soon. Only use i can think of is trying to smite people out in wildy without them expecting it, but i can't seriously see anyone being dumb enough not to watch their prayer.
  24. my atk str def are higher than yours. cept prayer. when i tried going thru i ran out of prayer. other than that i didnt have much trouble. even at only 70 ranged Well I didn't ran out of prayer.. I had about 4(4) res pots and 2(4) sara brews left at Jad, I didn't time my prayers correctly and got killed. It doesn't mean anything. Everybody falls the first time, right, Trin? When you're ready, you won't need brews.
  25. Only shield worth owning is the chaotic for when you want to pretend to be a Shuckle, but for actual gameplay the divine or dragon defender would be more useful in almost all situations. Maul isn't exactly amazing for anything imparticular. You can use it at waterfiends, but you might want to sacrifice the few charms an hour for no recharge rates with zs/ss, as they can add to be quite a drain on your bank. You can use it at TDs, but CLS does almost as good a job, and rapier is actually better once you're good at them. You can use at boss masses, but CLS is almost as good, and rapier often beats it depending on the average kill speed. CCbow is really unimpressive unless you do Nex. Arma and TDs to a lesser extent. Chaotic staff isn't amazing as combat magic is just weak and un-used for pvm. Even the new spell is likely better with the new staff, assuming either are any good. Rigour is pretty cool, especially if you like doing TDs, Arma and Nex, but it's arguabley better to use leeches and soulsplit. Augury... Lol. Just lol. Ring of vigour is pretty nice, especially if you don't have an imbued berserker ring yet. These are just my personal opinions. Rage over them all you like.
