  1. I've heard barraging rock lobsters is roughly 250-300 crimson charms an hour with maxed mage. You can cast barrage 1200 in 1 hour if you're constantly attacking, but counting lures its probably about 1000 casts an hour, so theres that answer :P I don't have personal experience barraging so don't take any of the above for fact. To get anywhere near that many crimsons at waterfiends you have to use a steel titan, which is pretty pointless as you already have 99 summoning if you can summon a steel titan :P
  2. Statwise, dharoks body and legs are identical to torags. Veracs skirt are the exact same stats as the other 2 legs, but they also give a prayer bonus, so they're the best barrows melee legs. For slayer you really need to focus on offense more than defense. So i'd recommend you get a fighter torso for your body if you can't make enough to buy a BCP in that time :P Also: Use a dragon defender at all times except vs dragons (if you have super antifires use defender even on dragons)
  3. Kril looks awesome now. Hell, i'm gonna go kill him just because i wanna see for myself. Shame his drops suck =/
  4. Thank you very much for this. But... Are those 'you need at least' numbers the number for the weapon only. Or the weapon + any extra gear such as firecape etc?
  5. Well, part 1 seems to have covered pking fully. There is nothing to pking other than pjing other pjers now.
  6. Well you still don't seem to understand runescape speeds. Runescape combat works on 'ticks' that happen roughly every 0.6 seconds. The fastest weapon, throwing knives, are 1.2 seconds. Rapid shortbows are 1.8 seconds Scimitars are 2.4 seconds Longswords are 3 seconds godswords are 3.6 seconds and so on... You can't be anywhere between these numbers as it's just not possible. By the way, the bow + an onyx bolt would be 160 range strength... Which hits 652... Some bows have a range strength bonus but do not require ammunition, i think this is the best thing to do, just give it a set range strength and don't allow ammunition, as it's rather pointless as every single person would use rune+ bolts for insane damage. And 5 prayer points is nothing at all, a soulwars cape alone gives +12 prayer points and prayer pots are very cheap, you'd barely even notice a difference. I think a much better negative side effect would be to lower their total hitpoints, so they can't kill bosses too easily and theres no way around it other than constantly using brews, which still wouldn't boost them very high. You're right about the boss hps, my bad, but that doesn't change the fact the weapons are overpowered :P So if a bow can hit 652 it's overpowered but if a chaotic maul can hit 700+ it's not? It would actually help reduce the insane advantage melee has over magic and range on the majority of bosses. A range weapon that can hit 652 is reasonably acceptable. Especially if it can't be used in the wild like the melee weapon mentioned. And the cost it would take to hit that kind of damage. I don't see why we're talking about speeds when all range weapons have three options; accurate, rapid and long range. Why would this bow not have those options. If this bow is supposed to be the best the damage is in line but the range attack bonus should be closer to a crystal bow 10/10, not a maple shortbow. How would this bow make killing bosses any easier than killing them with melee. With the negative bonuses you're referring too this weapon would be obsolete from the start. Bottom line, this bow is not over powered when compared to melee weapons. The difference is the maul hits every 3.6 seconds. The bow, according to your first page, hits every 1.8 seconds. That's 1304 damage for every 800 you do with the maul. That's overpowered. Assuming you used rune bolts and hit about 640 instead of onyx's 652, its only 1k a shot, and you keep 4/5 bolts with your avas. 200 coins per shot, that's only slightly more than chaotic repair charges, and NOTHING compared to the billions you'd be making at nex with this. You can wear range armour to give a total of 166 range attack bonus + your bow's bonus. So it having low range attack actually makes very little difference, as it would still be very accurate in the above gear, and there is no way to avoid that other than giving it -100 range bonus or something like that. Insanely overpowered.
  7. Ok i'd like to start out stating that i know void is better for certain weapons such as chaotic maul, and worse with bronze dagger, due to the % based increase opposed to the constant strength bonus of the bandos. I'm just curious at what strength bonus your weapon is, does void become higher damage. I'd also like to compare the accuracy a little on an almost unrelated point. First of all, it's assumed you're in otherwise maxed strength gear. (Within reason, no completionist cape or degradables, defender instead of DFS, fury over strength amulet, for usefulness.) Void helm ----------- Nezzy Void body ----------- BCP Void legs ----------- Tassets Void deflector ----------- Dragon defender Barrows gloves ----------- Barrows gloves Dragon boots ----------- Dragon boots Fury ----------- Fury Berserker ring (i) ----------- Berserker ring (i) Fire cape ----------- Fire cape 36 strength ----------- 51 strength I'm not exactly sure how the damage system works based on your strength bonus so i can't work it out myself, hell, i'm not even sure what % void melee boosts. If you disagree with the gear setup by all means use whatever you think is the 'ultimate' strength setup, i personally made those changes as that's what i'd do in actual gameplay. Also, how accurate would your weapon have to be in the above gear to make void, with deflector, more accurate? (If it's proportional to your opponents defense for some reason then lets use Graardor as an example.) TL;DR. When is void better than bandos for pure max hit purposes, is it at CLS? Rapier? Whip? Korasi? Dragon dagger? Bronze dagger?

  9. It's pretty amusing how everyone says jagex are idiots for letting botting continue. Business wise, they're making a fortune from botters paying membership, a lot more than they would just from the few legitimate players. It annoys the current players to wits end, but very few actually quit, and stop paying jagex, over it. Whereas if they get rid of bots they automatically lose the MAJORITY of their playerbase. They'd be idiots to remove bots, business wise. Honestly though, i bet a lot of bot users wouldn't mind a bot free runescape, i can see the 'can't beat em, join em' attitude behind it all, i just hope jagex sees this one day and if it ever deals with the bots, a lot of them come back as legitimate, paying, players into a much nicer and fairer enviroment.
  10. I was just stating the facts and doing some numbers for you so you can see your weapons more accuratley. Actually, the bow calculation wasn't even in void, add an extra 150+ to the total damage... And for projectiles i still don't understand. So would a bronze arrow do the same as a dragon bolt (e)? Whats the point in having ammunition in the first place? Why not make it like zaryte/crystal bow? Not everyone owning maxed mage gear is NOT an excuse to have the weapon. This just means those that do will absolutley destroy people that don't, hell, with soul split and constant blood barrage at that level you could probably solo most bosses without food. Just rediculously overpowered. I was mainly thinking about pvp. Being able to hit 3000+ in 5.4 seconds = Goodfight. And even for bosses with 10000 hp, the highest in the game, this would be over 30% of their health, solo, and you could use spec restore pots to do it again every 30 seconds. I understand they're supposed to be amazing, but theres a fine line between 'amazing' and 'game breaking' and this is WAY beyond that line. Tweak the stats and speeds a little and it may be promising, as a rule of thumb, if it's more than 20% higher DPS than a chaotic rapier its probably overpowered.
  11. Whats funny is you can quite easily buy them at 23gp each in the grand exhange at times, i have a permanent offer in, and make about 20k profit from it every 4 hour hours (Or, 120k a day, extra, literally no effort required)
  12. Yeah it's been my goal for a long time. I mean looking from a yackless perspective, pack yak is game breaking. Camping a monster and don't want to bank? Send to bank! 28 inventory spaces not enough? How about MORE THAN DOUBLE? Your war tortoise keeps making the boss aggressive? No worries, i'll not touch him.
  13. I've heard they're both the exact same.
  14. Taking 56 summoning potions and scroll banking all the feathers instantly would probably be pretty fast :o
  15. But they can't read capchas. It's physically impossible in the current bots for them to detect an external host and actually read the completely random capcha. If there is no debate to be had, it's probably because my part is too solid to argue against. It's physically impossible, no matter how many forum spammers get through other capchas. (How do you know those aren't humans entering the capchas by the way? I've heard of capcha readers but they have huge fail rates and do not know how to solve most, which is why capcha is still so commonly used, i refuse to believe they're commonly cracked.) Doesn't change the fact it can't be done in a runescape bot client.
  16. ... Wheres the fun in choking people? Unless you're a serial killer of some sort. Wheres the fun in reporting people? It's not about fun. It's about improving the game. You would have no idea who is a combat bot in a bank and by the time you ask if they are one they already tele away. And some combat bots never bank such as rock crab bots.
  17. No they can't. They solved runescape classic ones because they were runescape ones and each had its own ID and there were only like 100 different ones at most. A capcha system would have millions of different possibilities and would be external so no bot could detect it by an known runescape 'ID' as they do now.
  18. If jagex actually wanted rid of bots they could easily replace randoms with a capcha you must answer. No bot can read a capcha, that's the entire point, so the bot would fail, and the player would be banned if they failed several times. It would not rely on player reports and it would be expected and tolerated by legitimate players, just like random events are now. We have been dealing with random events for years now and they do NOTHING towards 99% of bots. Why can't we do a 5 second capcha instead? It would be easier for a legit player to solve than a random event, and it would be impossible for a bot. Bot problem solved. Of course they're not actually going to do this as they value bot membership fees, but i hope this will put an end to complex the frankly bizzare suggestions i've seen in the past. Before you say it. No. This would not take much effort on jagex's part. They could pay a capcha service a small amount of money to use their system and set it up in minutes. And no. Bots can not crack capchas. Advanced scanning tools may be coming closer to being able to, but a script kiddie in java script will have 0 chance of cracking it.
  19. Dat fail capcha Imo player run choking is good because the bots get targeted (more). Legitimate players wont get choked that much (after players settle down 2 weeks or so after the update). Whereas with a random question replacing random events everyone gets hit by them equally. You could even set it so that the time limit between chokes is about that of randoms (2-5 hours?) Make choking ftp only! jk Give us the qfc when you put it on forums  This relies on players choking all bots. Not going to happen. The worst bots are the combat bots, and those would be impossible to choke. We have been dealing with random events for years now and they do NOTHING towards 99% of bots. Why can't we do a capcha instead? It would be easier for a legit player to solve than a random event, and it would be impossible for a bot. Bot problem solved.
  20. I actually like this idea a lot. The same could be done for almost any skill. And i have a little addition to this idea that might very well be excellent. Add a sub level to the skill. For example, you could have 99 woodcutting and level 27 lumberjacking*, and you level your lumberjacking by completing woodcutting tasks. Lumberjacking could unlock new equipment, trees, locations... You have 74 fishing and level 3 angling* You level your angling by completing fishing tasks. Angling could unlock new equipment, fish, locations... You have level 38 smithing and level 1 forging* You level your forging by completing smithing tasks. Forging could unlock new equipment, new armours to create, locations... etc. etc. The tasks will give a noticable main skill boost of xp, and an even larger sub level amount of xp. * I suck with names but you get the point. The unlockable things would require X main skill level and X sub-level, sub level should train quite a lot faster than main level, meaning you don't have to train 100% from tasks.
  21. Totally impractical. If jagex actually wanted rid of bots they could easily replace randoms with a capcha you must answer. No bot can read a capcha, that's the entire point, so the bot would fail, and the player would be banned if they failed several times. It would not rely on player reports or 'choking' and it would be expected and tolerated by legitimate players, just like random events are now. Many websites do this to stop bots, why don't jagex? Simple. They WANT bots to pay membership fees. They need this money to survive as a business. Why would they kill of a large % of their 'players' just to make the remaning few happy?
  22. All 3 weapons are rediculously overpowered. The only speed below scimitar is rapid shortbow because of runescapes ping system. The sword would be capable of hitting 540s at rapid shortbow speed. In torva the special would hit 850. The bow would be throwing knife speed. It would hit 351s and the special could hit 351-351-351 (1053) 3 times in a row. AT THROWING KNIFE SPEED.* The staff would hardly ever miss in maxed mage gear. And hit 514's with ice barrage at the speed of a scimitar. The special attack is rather useless, thank god. * You put that the bow would have 80 range strength bonus, but also that we can equip bolts/arrows... What would the bolt/arrow actually do? Some nice ideas but you'll have to change them drastically to use on runescape as there is no such thing as 'between scimitar and rapid shortbow' it just jumps from one to the other.
  23. A publicity stunt and nothing more. The actual sellers have a new domain now and 100s of advertisments stating the new domain name, anyone serious about buying could simply google and i'm sure that would bring the new domain name. Not to mention they're just one of thousands of gold sellers. This did nothing. The debate isn't if jagex CAN stop bots and gold sellers. It's if they WANT to stop them. Answer: ʇou ǝsɹnoɔ ɟO
  24. I got 84-92 cooking and 72-82 fletching... Played 23.5 hours over the whole event, not all of that time was spent training though.
  25. There is a lot of debate between rapier vs cls at graardor, but i think CLS wins by a fairly significant margin. At least a kill or two more per trip, and definatley worth the inventory space (assuming you bring rapier to kill minions)
