  1. Edgevillie is (or will be once they have the stats) full of dharok fighters. Every time a dharoker gets to low hitpoints and tries to kill their opponent you can dbow spec them and have about 5+% chance of hitting 50+ killing them. Which is huge considering how many attempts you can do in an hour. If you rush early in a fight the loot will be yours for the taking. And it's not AFTER a death match that is the primary concern, it's DURING a regular fight because the enemy only has to stop hitting them for about 5 seconds (ie 2 eats) so you can attack them. This is what i think you guys don't seem to understand just from lack of actual experience... Here are some really douchey videos of me demonsrating with dclaws: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd9LqZVjDUY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvUNRim8KNI
  2. THE most efficient build is 60 attack 99 strength 40 defense 94 mage 31 prayer. (87-90cb depending on lifepoints) You wear: Fighter hat (can pick up after death) - Gives +5 melee accuracy and rune full helm stats Fighter torso (can pick up after death - Gives + 4 strength and rune plate stats Fire cape (can pick up after death) - Gives +4 strength +1 all accuracy Rune defender (can pick up after death) - Gives +5 strength +19 slash accuracy Rune gloves (Barrows are not worth it for this tier of risk) Climbing boots Recoil ring Strength amulet Rune platelegs Dragon scimmy (protection prayer keeps this) DDS Or get 70 attack 99 strength 70 defense 94 magic 31 prayer and use dharoks if you want to risk/make some serious money from PVP, Still use scimmy as primary weapon so you keep your perfect attack and defense stats. Getting higher prayer is not too detrimental but 31 is truly the BEST for an OPTIMAL pk build.
  3. I feel like I'm now obligated to train 99 range and dbow you lot all day to prove a point lol. "I've never been killed by a PJer" just means "I haven't spent a lot of time in the wilderness risking a decent amount" There are no evasive actions you can take, if you are in a fight and make your enemy eat a few times, you can and almost always will be rushed, ruining your fight and often killing you as you're on relatively low life points while your enemy eats. If you see them you can safe up and pray, but this also ruins your fight. Really though it's kind of ridiculous to not want this from a none rushing perspective. I'll say it again, it looks good on paper but in practical terms the current system is very frustrating and unfun. If you were to write an efficient PKing guide at the moment it would be "Dbow or gmaul rush people that are in fights with low hitpoints then tele away."
  4. Which you're much more likely to get while wearing void because you'll actually HIT that hit more times than not. No, void makes you 10% more accurate, but you sacrifice +12 slash of b gloves. So it's only really more accurate when using whip. With low base accuracy such as DDS the strength gear is better in every way.
  5. Cool thread, nice progress. I'd love to run a thread like this but I never have the willpower to update them with progress reports, :P Maybe I'll make one today and the 2nd post will be in 2015 "Ok I'm done."
  6. I remember fondly standing under a crazy rich person clear their bank of "junk"... This included like 40+ of each dragonstone jewellery at various stages, 1k+ of many potions at various doses, about 20k blood runes (why?!) and so many other huge stacks of easy to sell items. I think it totaled at something insane like 25m, and I only got the first 2 inventories or so before others realized what was happening and got in on the "drop party" :P Ironically I already had about 100m+ bank for the first time when that happened, if it happened a few months earlier I'm sure I would have shrieked with joy.
  7. I think so. I think you need karamja gloves or something though, buddy of mine claims to have made 100m's from it.
  8. "You have time for 1 hit per kill" Exactly... Which is what makes specs best. With the number of people attempting it, getting a fairly reliable 30+ with whip isn't going to be very useful, you have to rely on a lucky 50+ DDS or halberd. (Or dbow, thus range) I'm pretty sure old school count the xp gained from hitting the enemy and not "actual damage"... IE if your hit lands but the damage was unessessary for the kill, you still get the loot if you got the xp of a higher hit than others. Anyway. If GWD ever came to old school I'd probably be too busy crying with joy to login for the first few weeks when it has that kind of hype.
  9. It's fairly self explanatory but alas we have a video of me demonstrating it below anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UULNLSpVBRU It's very simple, just alch at any time you can without interrupting your ability to train agility. It might take a bit of practice to know the best spots to alch and increase your APM to the point you can do it "flawlessly", but that's all just something to keep you preoccupied while you train the 2 most boring skills in the game!
  10. Not even true because if you were doing that you'd rely on spec weapons (that are better in every way with strength gear) or range anyway. Not that I'd ever ever mass a boss that can be easily duo'd or more easily crashed in a world with fewer noobs. :P
  11. ok, so using a maxed zerker potted stats (69 attack 112 strength, 15% prayers) and max possible offensive items (zerk ring, fury, ect). 56 defense is chosen as this is a brewed zerkers defense, defense prayer is not used as it often isn't in wildy. Void - Dragon Scimitar Max hit = 36 DPS on 1 defense 0 slash defense 7.54639355742297 DPS on 56 defense 0 slash defense 6.65572478991597 DPS on 56 defense 250 slash defense 2.90903662420382 Max strength - Dragon Scimitar Max hit = 37 DPS on 1 defense 0 slash defense 7.74822695035461 DPS on 56 defense 0 slash defense 6.8218085106383 DPS on 56 defense 250 slash defense 2.94984076433121 Same as above but with 80 attack (70 base to wield whip + pot) Void - Whip Max hit = 40 DPS on 1 defense 0 slash defense 8.40024834437086 DPS on 56 defense 0 slash defense 7.62244757174393 DPS on 56 defense 250 slash defense 4.09401539278132 DPS on 118 defense 360 slash defense w/Piety 1.2529442820013 Max strength - Whip Max hit = 41 DPS on 1 defense 0 slash defense 8.60068259385666 DPS on 56 defense 0 slash defense 7.77943686006826 DPS on 56 defense 250 slash defense 4.06847133757962 DPS on 118 defense 360 slash defense w/Piety 1.24512670565302 Wow... Ok, so strength gear is best for low defense by quite a bit. But as you can see, void is very slightly better against an armoured zerker and very high defense, not that it'd be worth the armour loss for practical PVP purposes. Please take all this with a grain of salt, I'm just playing around with stuff for my own satisfaction. I feel kinda dumb for spending all this time getting void now. I guess I'll get range...
  12. Well when OS was released there were no torsos so i thought void would be sweet. But of course torsos were released and by memory of void being sweet was based on memories of what it did to chaotic's already high numbers. So basically, which hits better, max strength or void? Using the primary weapons D scim and Whip... Wanna know accuracy and strength difference. As an aside, does Salve (e) stack with void? (or black mask?)
  13. has anyone ever trained in this bone key area? This is the first I've heard of it.
  14. Ughh. Getting pj'd is even worse in deep wildy. You're in a fight with a high risker and you start speccing him, he's red-barred and forced to constantly eat... Some noob no itemer interrupts your fight and teleblocks you, so your enemy survives and has chance to reheal, and you're now teleblocked and have to escape because other vultures like the noob teleblocker will pile you as soon as you kill your opponent. This is not just an edgeville issue, edgeville just happens to be where the seriously damaging rushers like darkbowers go because they can cowardly retreat faster. Birdd, "no rules" sounds good on paper but again if you actually PK I'm sure your stance will swiftly change, it's not fun, it's just annoying and in favour of being incredibly immoral and doing nothing but rushing. I agree "can't be attacked while in a fight and the enemy just eats a few times" and "Can't attack for a few seconds after a kill" are different aspects of the pj timer and should be voted against separately. I'm obviously in favour of both.
  15. Yes all around. Don't care much for fkeys, all I use is magic, combat, inventory. So either is fine.
  16. PJ timer is necessary. If you want to team up on people go use multi. I get the feeling this is one of those things people that don't PK might not understand or appreciate how detrimental not having the PJ timer truly is. As mentioned above it's not all about the deaths that come from it, it's the interruption and loss of tempo that just kills the fun. The wild already has some sanity rules, like the combat level difference to attack one another. Adding more sensible much needed rules isn't beyond reason.
  17. Good for Edgeville PKing, bad for everything else. If people want to sit in Edgeville and make loads of rules they expect to be honored in a fight, then they should accept that not everybody must follow those rules. It shouldn't be forced upon everybody who uses the wilderness. If they really want a 1 vs. 1 fight where the risk is pre-decided, the rules are pre-decided, and everything is streamlined, they can use the Duel Arena. How is that bad for none-edge fighters, in any way, shape or form? It isn't forced, and you're free to have a hybrid fight using protection prayers in edge if you can find a willing opponent. A large part of edge fighting is the fact you're able to escape and they are not death matches, thus duel arena is obviously not a suitable replacement. Not to mention the duel rules are not deep enough to honour the unwritten rules (no overheads ect) There is nothing stopping you from even far casting and rushing unwilling people in edgeville, but you have to accept that what you are doing is against the unwritten rules of that area and people will avoid and dislike you for it. A lot of people seem to be perfectly happy to do it regardless.
  18. It's difficult to say with any certainty as prices are unpredictable, but useful pots would be best to make. (Prayer, super attack/strength, sara brews, strong anti-poison, super restore, anti-dragon) as these will always have a resale value, while things like regular attack potions are mostly useless and worthless, while their ingredients may not be.
  19. "Changing and updating the game in a way that players desire... You don't see this in any other game." That is EXACTLY what MMOs are all about. If a game has crappy controls, people will complain, and develops will introduce better controls. If the game make absurd yet mostly unimportant decisions like only allowing you to obtain 1 of a certain item and the players complain, they will allow yo to obtain more. If the players complain about a boss being too hard, the developers will look towards making the player capable of killing the boss easier with fun updates (such as new weapons) or ignore these players if their claims are baseless and the boss is at a suitable difficulty level. Most of what you say comes from a chain of half truths and huge logic leaps. Your argument that multiple firecapes gives you immediate satisfaction rather than forcing you to get a new one right when you need it, is a valid point. Now we must assess if that is truly something we want. Me personally? No. You? I can understand why you'd say yes, and respect your opinion on the subject. Let's put it to the poll.
  20. "PJ timer" Actually i wouldn't be surprised if this was voted for by the majority of players. Few people think rushing is good for the game, they just take advantage of the situation or revenge for when they were rushed themselves. On top of that, if Jagex just said "We added a PJ timer" without a poll; the majority of players would be thankful and very few people could actually criticize such as a decision, sure it effects their money making method, but it's obviously the "moral" thing to do.
  21. It would be cool if you were able to make pseudo placeholders in your bank so only that item can ever go into that slot. You take your firecape out the bank and there is a greyed out firecape left in the same slot so your other items don't move. ...That's actually a really good idea.
  22. "Placeholder mentality"... What does that even mean? You literally require placeholders to have an organized bank. I do understand your point about maing you suffer through getting a new cape when you lose it, I don't agree that's a good thing, but i know what you mean. They need to make it vanish completely in wildy first and foremost, though, otherwise there is no loss in the first place.
  23. What about these 3 don't you agree with? ...Right? I don't understand why anyone would actually be against these, ecto and flashing are purely convenience or visual aid, and the fact you can't have multiple fire capes is a weird annoyance probably put in place to avoid a glitch where you got multiple capes per cave, or something like that, which is obviously no longer a problem. This whole "I hate easy scape i think having an inventory is OP, we should be forced to wear bronze daggers at all times" is getting old.
  24. Ooh ability to spin the fairy ring code faster so much! That's very frustrating as it is. "Rigour dark bow wasn't op" ...Well yes as it had to compete with turmoil dragon claws with +8 str rings, cape, +4 boots, +2 legs. And lots of life point boosts or damage reduction armour. What it boils down to is that the dark bow with rigour is more than capable of hitting quite a bit over 990 in OS. Unless you're constantly brewed up, you could be killed out of nowhere at any given moment. Not only is this a real possibility, there will be 100's more people trying to make it happen, which is really bad for the PK community as everyone hates rushers.
  25. "Piety for range" Problem with range is that it's not designed with PVP in mind at all. The dark bow has the KO power to 1 hit most people and you really don't want to make it even higher, while every other range tool has terrible PK power relative to melee and could use a buff. Make range piety, but nerf the dbow so it's max is 40-40 but it's more accurate or faster or something. "Edge PVP is bad" You can get into a fight with set rules (no protection prayers, no teams, no farcasting, tele when out, etc..) This is really good for a lot of people, and it's a large part of PVP, just because you prefer another part of the wild doesn't mean that edge pkers should suffer from a silly drop system. Your thing about Void... Yeah, it has lower defense, this is a fact. It's still incredibly imbalanced in void's favour if it's risking 50k a pop VS these relatively expensive torags or rune people. Forget the DDS and they essentially risk a strength amulet and 5k gp rune gloves.
