Set fish free
I only suggested it because it's "realistic". Many fishers release their catches and it makes a lot more sense than just dropping the freshly caught fish on the ground. I don't really care about the game mechanics for thos, but it would act as a good opportunity to add "release all" or "xp for destroying item" options if either are desired. And it's game mechanics that sell an idea.

A Few Qs
All i can find on the subject of heroes quest is this from the archived tip.it guide for the quest from 2007... "Exp in the following skills: Attack, Defence, Strength, Hits, Ranged, Woodcutting, Firemaking, Cooking, Herblore, Smithing and Mining (1325-3075 exp per skill)" I assume that this does mean the xp depends on your level, and can only assume doing it at lower defense would result in getting a lower xp reward.

Set fish free
Just had the idea of setting fish free. By which i mean releasing raw fish back into the ocean/river. It would act as a "drop all" kind of thing but would go slowly 1 by 1. Best of all it actually makes sense in an IRL way as many fishers do exactly this... If we're against the "drop all" thing then simply make it so you manually click 1 at a time, but maybe give some xp for doing it so people would actually do it instead of simply dropping. Thoughts?

Old School RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds!
Yeah I've heard of cave bots before and it always made me smirk. It's absolutely awful experience and the tokkul is tiny too. Sadly though they have the sheer numbers and endurance to get several 99's and onyxs over time =/

Skilling XP\Hours?
Well in 2012 scape (I need a better term for pre-eoc) you could alch while fishing and it wouldn't even interrupt the fishing. It also worked for combat and a lot of other things. I don't think there was ever a point where alch queuing existed and being able to skill while alching didn't so I can only assume that's what caused it. Interestingly, alching currently stops your run meter from draining while the animation shows. So if you alch constantly when doing things like quests (which you should be anyway if you're going for speed 99's) you basically have infinite run. Regardless of how the vote ends, alching has a use for the meta game :P

Skilling XP\Hours?
... 1000 nature runes. So about 230-250k/hour at current prices, but boy are those bots working hard on helping us out even more bless their cotton socks. (The fish alch for 10-30 each) Also I'm not sure if you can alch-fish at the moment but when they fix the alch queuing you should be able to (lol at the easyscape haters that are too against metascape they don't even know the implications of what they're voting in)

Mining Advice?
Banking iron is usually economically sensible if your end goal for money making is to mine runite. I'm also not sure the best spot, drawf mine near stairs to fally east bank isn't bad, but you'll typically lose ~30% xp/hour for ~1000 ores/hour. In other words, you're sacrificing about 9000xp to get 100k gp, mining runite is often a worse trade off than this itself.
-
Skilling XP\Hours?
If you low alch barbarian fish you get over 60k/hour, plus you get magic/agility/strength xp as you go. Pretty significant when you're getting 99 fish.

Mining Advice?
Mining isn't very good money. Iron all the way to 99 I guess?

Jagex can sleep on their 2 ears? Their macro's do Jagex's work.
Shared computers - Fair point. If you bot on one account then Jagex have every right to ban all of your accounts. You broke their rules playing their game, it means nothing in which way you did it. I personally don't care about bots - I just hate all the discussion and focus on them. I hate the politics of jagex pretending to care but not actually doing anything because obviously money is money. I'd prefer if jagex just muted people for using the word "bot" so that it wouldn't be the topic of 90% of all conversations.

Not impressed by PS4
As a general rule "I want to do something new" falls under software, while "I want to do something better" falls under hardware (and also software). Admittedly I'm really talking about generic computer hardware (CPU GPU RAM etc..) and not fancy new cameras that could possibly do cool new stuff with images. Hardware could technically be a limiting factor for this kind of thing, but it is not THE limiting factor at the moment. You have a bucket that stores 1L, and you have 100ml of water. You should be focusing on getting more water before you look for a 10L bucket. Or, focus on creating an AI that would actually come close to needing better systems before looking for better systems. Smart AI could be done in a game context with a current computer quite easily. Given the context of the game your AI's character would not be expected to know or respond appropriately to EVERYTHING EVER. IE in a wild west cowboy game a sheriff asks you what you're doing in town. "Looking for a computer so I can play runescape of course!" The AI would understand everything but "computer" and "runescape" and could respond with a generic "Well we don't have none of these "computers" and certainly none of those "runescapes" so tell me boy, what are you doing in this town?" Forcing the user to give a suitable response the AI is expecting and can act appropriately to. A few 100 possibilities at most once it understands the meaning of words and can treat "I'm looking for work" and "I need a job" as the same thing. Humans really aren't as complicated or creative as we're given credit.

Skilling XP\Hours?
Biggest flaw I see is that xp rates are not constant. You won't get 400k firemaking xp/hour at level 1 firemaking. Farming will always be iffy. How did you land on the figure of 500k/hour?

Best teletabs?
You can use ardy tabs without doing the quest, which makes them almost vital to lazy people that haven't done it yet. I forgot they were even in the game when I suggested cammy...

AI is software. Everything mentioned would technically be possible on a standard computer and doesn't exist already simply because of the time, effort and sheer understanding required to produce something so large and complex. Although certain hardware would be better, that isn't the limiting factor here. Optimization is just as important as raw power upgrades with this kind of thing anyway. The text based games only recognize specific words or strings of text, but so do humans. A complicated AI would just be the same thing as the text based adventure ones but with a lot of work done on adding more words and phrases, and adding appropriate actions and reactions to words and phrases suitable to the characteristics of the AI and the previous conversations it's been in. This task can be aided by "learning" technology similar to cleverbot mixed with archives of actual conversations between humans (like these forums!), and it certainly doesn't require any fancy new hardware. Again, it's just an almost impossibly large task that hasn't been given much attention. I just feel sorry for the poor voice actors. Note I'm by no means saying there is nowhere for hardware to advance for stuff like energy conservation, power, and size/cost reduction, because there is. It's just the extra improvements isn't necessarily needed to run these seemingly elaborate and futuristic tasks. What we currently have is capable. Just for the record there are devices that recognize images and intuitively learn things on their own, they're currently very simple and their improvement is very much based on improving the software and logic etc... Not the hardware.

This is more about developer time and effort than anything else, certainly not hardware limitations. Custom biomes (From what I understand, you want the user to be able to edit the basic constants of something, which will then be randomly generated within the defined constants, resulting in a unique yet controlled creation.) already exists, both as a concept in many games and actually as mods in the game of minecraft. These are in fact often used to develop games. Instead of spending years drawing every shard of grass on land, you'd set some parameters for what a shard of grass should roughly look like and then let it randomly create millions of shards within those parameters to get a full field of grass that looks like a lot of detail was put into it. Understanding language has been done as early as text based adventure games. A more modern example of a computer understanding completely free text is the game Facade... Note it didn't do a very good job and is an awfully dull game, but it proves the concept.

Yeah. If you're worried about anti-torrent laws then don't torrent. Otherwise you should probably know that torrenting isn't exactly discreet and those interested in your torrent history probably already do without the help of Jagex.

That's entirely my point. We don't need and indeed can't even utilize further hardware advancements for anything gameplay wise. There's nothing cool you can do with physics that can't already be done with current hardware. Thus, consoles are becoming less useful as the "average home" computer reaches this point without any optimization necessary.

Cammy, good xp and popular.

It's just that we can already do the coolest things imaginable with existing hardware and some design tricks. Infinitely expanding universes? Random generation and skyboxes, no problem. You can even customize the "random" generation so that it gives you exactly what you want with a billionth of the power needed. The only limitation is how much time and effort the developers are willing to put into it. The only thing we aspire to do in the future but can't do right now is improve the graphics of the same mechanics we currently have. And gimmicks like motion control and 3D. Hit me with a possible game idea that would be impossible with a current gaming PC but might be possible in 20 years. Genuinely interested in being proven wrong.

Advertising 101: It doesn't matter how awful your product is, make it look great. By the time they've bought it and realized it's awful you have their money. Anti-hype is not a wise business move. That only works for the short term. If you want a successful business that continues to generate money then you need people to actually enjoy your product. I don't think consoles are really going to be around long term. We're reaching a limit to what we can do with games besides graphical improvements, the hardware requirements for top tier games are not increasing. Consoles will be redundant when the average "office" computer with decade old parts can support the most advanced games out there. I'd be shocked if we saw anything after the PS5.

Old School RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds!
I've been thinking about getting a smartphone that can run RS so I can merch during coffee breaks at work, or even skill during the long public transport commute, lol. "You know you're addicted when..." When I say smartphone I mean small device, tablet or notebook or whatever you want to call it. That thing.

Void Mage
Just for reassurance I did the equation with the best gear in the game... Infinity Boots, Seers Ring, God Cape, Master Wand, 3rd age ammy, Mage's Book, and full Void Mage = 68 Magic bonus All that gear except Void, Farseer helm, Ahrim's top, Ahrim's bottom and Barrows Gloves = 132 Magic bonus FLOOR (1.3 * ((113 + 8) + 68)) = 245.7 FLOOR ((113 + 8) + 132) = 253 [i got 113 by multiplying Level 99 by 1.15 for 15% Prayer and rounding down, wasn't sure how to represent that in the equation] So even with max tier gear Ahrim's works out quite a bit better than void. I didn't bother with pots because they're too insignificant per cost/inventory space for practical use, outside of PVP. You can do it in your head and see it brings them closer, but Ahrim's still the winner.

Void Mage
How does the prayer boost stack with void? Does it become (1.15 x 1.3)... Or 1.45? Also missed 3rd age ammy which is +5 over that gear, but that's understandable given it's rarity and value lol. Still though. This shows void is waaay better than mystic with 99 mage and good gear. I'm shocked.

Void Mage
Void at DKs? Is that place really that big of a joke with EoC now? You used to actually need some defense there. I was talking about old school and just giving an example of where the horrible accuracy wouldn't be too detrimental to DPS. Also was really talking about safespotting rex only with mage as is popular to do. I'm not sure if it would be practical to use void over better armour there if it did give say +10% magic damage... @Equations... In your gear you missed mage's book for a +7 over unholy, and master wand for an extra +5, which would make void significantly better. I... What? Are you sure that's right? (I believe the +8 is just something to do with base accuracy and how the magic accuracy formula works in game. Melee has a similar thing.)
